They had started their patrol together, but then the Youma had crashed what would have otherwise been a pleasant moonlit walk through the park. It had been a howling beast of a thing, all teeth and claws and quick nimble limbs, almost cat like. It'd hissed at them with a mouth full of fangs as they'd approached it, then leaped over their heads to dart off down the path that lead to the park entrance. When they'd reached the street there had been no sign of it, only the vaguest trace of an aura, and it had been decided that they should split up to cover more ground. Not an easy choice to make, given how very protective Chaonis was of her, but they had to find the youma quickly, before it hurt someone. Originally Haddy had been with her, but she'd sent him to find the senshi of danger when she'd hit a dead end wall with claw marks leading up. As the guardian cat had taken off back down the ally, Navi had jumped up onto the hanging ladder of the fire escape, scrambling up it as fast as she could to get to the roof. It was close, she could feel it. From the roof she'd hopefully be able to see it. Another howl, and the dainty senshi climbed faster, taking the stairs two by two. "Please, please don't let it be too late." She'd seen the claws and the teeth, she knew how potentially deadly the beast would be if it found a human.

It had been a month since Leto had felt the strange sensation in her starseed. A month since Amytis had told her that Chariklo had somehow purified and joined the White Moon. Two weeks, however, had passed since she finally decided to return home to her apartment and after a few days of finally being home, Leto noticed something strange. She was absolutely, positively sure that her roommate of the last four years had not been coming home and when she finally decided to investigate and realized that a bunch of Lydia's things had been missing. Since that realization, Leto had been patrolling the areas that she had known Navi to frequent in hopes of running into her to no avail. Tonight, Leto decided to wander in a completely different direction and that's what had her on a rooftop face to face with a big, dumb youma. She was just about ready to shift into her Princess form to dust it (if not for any other reason than because she could) when she felt an Eternal White Moon power signature approach from the other side of the beast. When the girl with familiar ginger hair and an unfamiliar white fuku came into full view, Leto's breath caught in her throat and she stumbled backwards, nearly losing her footing on the edge of the roof. Red eyes widened as she steadied herself, watching the youma spin to face who Leto was positive was Navi.

Navi could feel the chaos signature, but she was preoccupied with the youma. First things first, neutralize the actively destructive force, then worry about who she had just run into, and what kind of threat they might have been to her. "Bitter winds howl!" The wind kicked up, whipping ginger hair across her face and shoulders as she brought her hands together to collect it, then, sliding to a stop, she flung the attack at the furious monster and watched as it split before hitting it's mark. It howled, one loud, angry snarl, before erupting into a cloud of dust, and all at once the eternal of tumbleweeds was left staring at the painfully familiar face of someone that had been like a sister to her. Her heart sank, lips parting and hands lowering. The toe of her boot scraping loudly against the roof as she fell back a step, almost stumbling. "Leto." She didn't know what the ******** to say here, let alone what to do. Part of her wanted to run at the other girl, to fling her arms around her and just cling, because she missed her. On the other hand. Navi had left the Dark mirror court. She had left without so much as a word of warning, sudden and abruptly, and had not contacted them sense. Too afraid of what they might do. She was afraid now. Afraid of the temper she knew Leto had. Afraid of the power the other girl wielded. That fear made her want to run. To just turn tail and flee, but she couldn't move, couldn't speak, couldn't do anything.

A gloved hand reached out, her mouth open as if to tell the youma to stop. To stay away from her friend. But she was frozen and no words came out and she definitely didn’t do anything to help. All she could do was watch as the White Moon Senshi called her attack and dusted the snarling youma and then.. They stood face to face. Red eyes moved to the ginger’s boots, then up to her skirts, her white wings, her white bodice, then finally to meet her eyes.
“Navi…?” She asked in a breathy whisper. How was it possible that her best friend- her sister - had left her? Had chosen to be one of them after everything they had done? After everything that the two of them had fought through together?
She flinched when the other Senshi said her name, as if it was tainted and made her sick to hear.
Her hand dropped back down to her side and they both balled into fists almost involuntarily. Her eyes narrowed as a sense of betrayal and anger began to bubble up in the pit of her stomach. She was a millisecond away from powering up into her Princess form and summoning the Black Mirror to bring Navi home. This must be a mistake.
It had to be.
“What…? How could you?”

Blood roared through here eyes as she watched those red eyes take up from the toes of her boots upwards before finally narrowing as they met soft hazel. That single angry look was enough to make Navi flinched, freckled features tightening as she fought the immediate urge to drop her gaze and apologize. To beg forgiveness at Leto's feet. She did feel guilt, and loss. It was a constant underlying ache in the pit of her stomach and the center of her chest. But she'd walked away from her court, and the family they had built. She'd walked away from Leto, and Lesath, and Remarque. If she'd had it to do all over again the outcome would have been the same, but maybe...maybe she'd have given them some warning. Hell, she'd wanted to, it just hadn't worked out that way. "I..." Was there any reason she could give the other woman that would be acceptable? Remarque had been upset, but in the end he'd let her go, trusting her to find her own way. Would Leto? She pulled in a deep breath and let it out slowly, gathering her courage and grasping at calm. "I'm sorry. This isn't how I wanted you to find out." How long has it been now? The days had been blending. "I was planning to talk to you...I wanted," she started then trailed off, fingers curling into the layers of her skirt. "I didn't know how, and then it just...happened," she finished weakly. "It wasn't an easy choice. It's still not." I didn't want to have to choose.

When Navi began to speak, Leto's eyebrows raised in a gimme-your-best-excuse taunting manner. The Camouflage Senshi was clearly unimpressed with the entire situation and she was sure that they both knew that there was nothing Navi could say that would quell Leto's anger. And hurt. And the unbearable sense of betrayal. "It just happened? What the ******** does that even mean?" She took a step closer to the other girl. She knew her temper was getting the best of her and she also knew that this was not how she really wanted to speak to her closest friend. But it was... Easier to be angry, to push her away, then to really feel her feelings. To feel her loss. Fingertips grazed her sternum where she knew her starseed lay beneath the surface, her head tilting slightly. She supposed it was Navi that caused her to feel that loss in a very physical way, just as Chariklo had done before her. "I don't understand. We were family. How did you choose that," she motioned at Navi's entirety up and down with her right hand. "over the Court? Over me?" Her reaction was selfish, and she knew that. Did Navi benefit the Court as a whole? Of course she did. But it mattered more to Leto that she left her, specifically. "We lived together and you couldn't even tell me that something was going on? Did I do something? Is this my fault?" Her voice was beginning to lower, and now red eyes could no longer hold onto hazel ones. Anger began to give way to a crushing sadness that pooled in the pit of her stomach.

Jaw set and brows furrowed Navi stood her ground as Leto questioned her, demanding answers. Voice a scalding wave of anger and betrayal that sizzled and burned across Navi's skin and tore it's way to her very core. It hurt to see that furious look in her friend's eyes, but it hurt more to know that she deserved it. That no matter how much she hadn't wanted things to end up like this she'd still chosen to leave the court. Navi just stood there quietly for a long moment and took it. It was penance for the pain she'd inflicted. But then Leto's voice changed, the anger seeping away, and as bad as that burning heat had been it was easy to bare than the loss and sorrow that rolled in to replace it. A small sound escaped the senshi as she stepped forward to catch Leto by the arms, hold soft and hesitant as if she expected the other girl to jerk away from her. "It's not your fault," she answered softly, tears burning at the corners of her eyes and voice thick. "You didn't do anything wrong. None of you did." She drew in a deep breath, held it for a moment, and then let it go in a rush. "I was going to tell you before I did anything. I wanted to find out how before making a move, but the answer was the means, and everything happened quicker than I expected it to..." It'd all happened so damn fast after she'd found her way to her mirror shard. "I...I've been," she trailed off, sighing again. "From almost the very beginning I've been in a relationship with an order aligned senshi."

It was as if Leto were on the emotional rollercoaster of a lifetime- she had no idea which way things were going to go and every time there was a new twist or turn, there was the same awful feeling in her stomach. She was sure she was going to be sick and she very desperately wanted off of this ******** ride. When Navi grabbed both of her arms, she wanted nothing more than to pull away and tell her where to go- and then to leave and never see or speak to her again. But somehow, for some reason... She just couldn't. Instead the tension that had been building completely seeped away, and her body relaxed in Navi's gentle grasp. It's not your fault.Leto's eyes came back up to meet Navi's, full of uncertainty. Until she mentioned that it was, for all intents and purposes, for love. How could she be angry with that? How could she be resentful when her own love came from a change of multiple sides? The answer was simple - she couldn't. Nodding her head slowly, Leto drew in a long breath as she tried to come to terms with all of it. It didn't hurt any less, but it was somehow at least easier to understand when it was for that reason. "I wish you told me..." She said, thinking carefully before every word she spoke, treading lightly, cautiously. "I could have brought whoever it is onto our side. You didn't have to go. You could both come back, whatever you need you know that I can help. I'd do anything for you," she almost sounded childish in her pleas.

When Leto didn'tjerk away from, when she in fact relaxed in her grip, Navi pulled her in closer, hugging the other girl to her with soft wonderment and disbelief. She hadn't expected that reaction, had been bracing for her to keep away, or even retaliate. This, she hadn't thought she'd ever get to do again. Her best friend, her princess. Still and always. Navi stroked her hair, hesitant hold tightening with every passing moment the other eternal stayed pressed against her. just let this lasta little longer.. If this was the last time, let it linger. "I didn't know how to," she admitted softly, looking down into that painfully familiar face. "I didn't know what to say, and i didn't want to disappoint you." Or anger her. Let had temper, and a protective streak a mile long. As for corrupting Chaonis... Navi shook her head. "I couldn't do that. He didn't want that." It wouldn't have been fair. "He didn't ask me to purify for him, I chose that." It'd been one of their rules. He didn't ask her to seitch sides, and neither did she.
