One thing I've noticed amongst Kamen Rider Fans, in general but especially in the West, is a dismissive attitude towards the Showa Era franchise. So, how about we talk about some of our favorite Showa Era series?

I had more exposure to things like V3 and Amazon before I even knew Kamen Rider was still a thing, so I definitely have a certain fondness for the classics. V3 being a particular favorite for it's almost pulpish style.

I just got into Kamen Rider a few years ago, so the only series I have seen are half of Fourze (never got around to finishing it), Wizard, Gaim and Drive. Someday I want to watch the series in reverse (ex. finish Fourze, OOOs, W, etc.).

I started watching Kamen Rider with Decade so I learned about all of the others through that. I also learned about the Showa Riders but it's not really a dismissive thing that I don't want to watch them. It's more of a I couldn't find any of them until recently and now I have been spoiled by the Heisei style of doing things lol. I mean don't get me wrong, I loved Amazon, Black, and Black RX in Decade and think they are really cool. I just think them by themselves, with no new forms or anything, for 30 or 40 episodes would get boring real quick. I might be wrong though. I am gonna watch a few episodes that I found from Henshin Fever on Facebook.

Less Rider forms? Sure, but they did have some of the more creative and unique monsters.

I have FINALLY finished all of the Hesei era, and am working on Amazon. Looks good. I am having a hard time overlooking the bad effects for older series. But I will try. Maybe next year, I can update the group on my finds.

Showa era will always be my favorite. I technically started with the Kamen Rider verses Super Sentai movie but started from the beginning and I always will love the deepness they put to the cyborg idea.

There's such a nice battle between the idea of what makes someone human and what strips it from them.

I love the locations, the characters. It was always a fun adventure. Haha.

Yeah I'm overly fond, but it was a fun time.

And yes the monsters are pretty interesting. I got two gifs I made for some from X's last quarter.

I wish Shin got to have all the movies he was meant to, still so sad about his whole life. Same with ZO but hey at least J got his sister.
