The Nag's Head purported itself to be an Irish pub, but if it was, it was one of the divier examples of the Irish bar scene. A narrow, dimly-lit place with a canopy over the entrance and a sign adorned with a horse's head, it had a long walnut bar along one wall and a single row of bar tables and stools along the opposite wall. It also had a single loo in the back, being too small a place for separate gender-specific restrooms. A jukebox playing hits of the 80s was also in the back. Dark wood panelling covered the walls and pictures of horses hung over the tables. The owner was Irish, well actually Irish-American, and his son, a large reasonably friendly fellow, played bartender. It was a working-class place if there ever was one.

Rob camped at his customary stool nearish the large plate-glass windows filled with neon signs advertising various brands of beer, occasionally peering over his shoulder as people came and left through the single door. This was one of the few places in Destiny City where a bloke who was juuuuuust shy of the legal drinking age could get a pint. (The owner thought the drinking age should be 18. Sensible chap.) He'd put on a black tank top for the occasion, and had actually pulled his baggy jeans up over his arse so his boxers weren't hanging out. A black dreadwrap kept his dreadlocks out of his face and his beer.

The occasion was meeting Aitana -- also known to him as Super Sailor Juno -- for drinks. He had texted her the next day after their sparring adventures as promised with the address and name of the place and the time to meet him, and now waited for her arrival. Taking another sip of his beer, he looked out the window. He was anticipating this greatly, and was a little nervous, much to his annoyance. There was nothing to be nervous about -- it wasn't like this was a date.

He looked over his shoulder again as someone else opened the door. It wasn't her. Turning back to the bar, he took another drink. He really hoped she showed up.

Whether or not it was a date some girls (like for instance - most normal ones) would have put some actual thought and attention into dressing up or trying to impress. But Aitana had always been a tomboy to the say the least, and even further than that, a person that gave absolutely zero ******** about what anyone thought about her choice of clothing, demeanor, or attitude. With exception to the occasional hangout with female teammates back in highschool she was, and would likely always be, more like 'one of the guys'.

As such, she hadn't fussed with choosing what to wear doning a simple red tank top and a pair of probably too short jean shorts (more specifically real jeans that had simply been cut jaggedly and unevenly off into shorts once the holes had gotten too ridiculous). It had been what was clean, and thankfully so was she, having at least taken a shower after getting off of work for the day. So there was atleast that.

Henshin glamour was a funny thing. Had they met as civilians prior to meeting as senshi, or even if they had met both ways and simply weren't intent on giving away their identities, he wouldn't have recognized her. As inanely crazy as that seemed, because how many 6 foot tall, green haired, Brazilians with thick accents walked around Destiny City? But because they had, and did, Aitana was quite easy to pick out when she entered the door of the bar, her eyes glancing around to take in the place.

She didn't have a ton of experience in bars, more used to drinking at parties or a few of the nasty dumps back in Brazil. But she actually liked the working class and cozy feel of this place. It was, what she was after all any more. Just a working class gal who moonlighted as a rampaging crusader crushing Chaos. Yeah.. she could totally imagine seeing some of the guys from the site hanging out in a place like this.

When finally she had had her fill of looking around her eyes sought out the man she was supposed to be meeting there, a soft thump of excitement hitting her in the chest when she easily picked him out. His dreadlocks, even pulled back were a dead giveaway.

"Olá" The Brazilian piped up loudly in greeting as she braced the distance between them with a few long strides. She was almost certainly a little bit late, but did not apologize because it wasn't like her to do so. Her expression however, was one of amusement, making it quite clear that, late or not, she was pretty happy to be there too.

Hearing the door open again, Rob glanced over his shoulder. Aitana was pretty easy to spot as well, with her height and long green braids. When he saw who it was, he felt a little leap in his chest, and his entire face brightened. As far as he was concerned, she looked fantastic. Yeah, he was definitely happy to see her.

"Hey you," he greeted in return, hopping off the barstool to meet her with a big grin. "Glad you made it. Hopefully you didn't have any trouble finding the place." He patted one of the barstools next to his. "I've been saving a spot for you. This place can fill up fast." Parking his butt back on his barstool of choice, he signalled the bartender. "What'll you have to drink? I'm buying."

Iris_virus
He's babbling a bit, isn't he XD
PostPosted: Thu Aug 27, 2015 2:01 pm

She shouldn't have been surprised that he would still be shorter than her when powered down, but nonetheless there was a tiny quirk at the corner of her lips when he hopped off the stool and lost an inch or so. It was cute somehow, amusing. Had she noticed the brightening of his face earlier she might have been even more amused.

Settling onto the barstool next to his she took a moment to enjoy the small pleasure of her feet not touching the ground, her sandaled feet swinging just a little. They really were the best sort of chair in her opinion and it reminded her of when she sometimes just sat out on the edge of buildings or on thick branches while out on patrol. Despite her lack of ability to explain why she felt that way, there was something nice about the feeling of being above the ground.

It didn't take long for her attention to shift from the strange thoughts however to her companion and his many words. "It was not too hard to find, no. I once worked on building a couple streets over, so I kind of know this area." Unsurprisingly her accent and imperfect English were the same whether she was powered up or not.

She did seem slightly less inclined to beat the crap out of things however as Aitana. Leaning forward, she rested her chin momentarily in her hands, before straightening again with a shrug, braids shifting across her back. "Any beer is fine. I am not picky really."

"You live around here then?" She asked after a moment, curiously, her eyes shifting to take in his appearance a little more carefully. While he was clearly familiar enough to be recognizable, his fashion choice was a bit different from Puck's. But then, not everyone was outfitted with a bitchin' loincloth.

It's all good, she's a woman of few words, so he's more than welcome to blather. XD

Were we assuming they swapped civilian names via text or should they intro their names?

Anddddddd
In regards to your solo - Juno would be happy to be his friend and even 'friend with benefits' if that's something you're interested in eventually. She's from a fairly open family and culture, so pleasure seeking just for the sake of pleasure is quite up her alley. Though right now it seems like she might eat the poor boy up. XD heart

It never occurred to Rob that there might be a difference in perception between being powered up and being in civilian form. One more thing he had yet to learn. He recognized her, and she looked the same, but she was different somehow. Like more laid back, less angry, less fight-y. Which was fine, he didn't want to get into too many fights in this place or they'd kick him out and then where would he go to drink? Not many places in this town were willing to serve a 20-year old, and he hated the bars over by the university.

"Good, good, I'm glad." He held his hand up in a "two" gesture, signalling to the bartender that he wanted another of what he was drinking for her. "Yeah, I live not too far from here, over in the arts district. I own me own house, with a yard and garden and all. You should come over sometime to see it -- I think you'd like it."

Then he stared at his beer wide-eyed. Had he just asked her over to his house? He really barely knew her! Oh, good one Robbo…

"So…" He looked over at her, noting how different the red of her tank top looked compared to the white and green of her fuku. If he were to be honest with himself, he'd have thought the red suited her bronze skin tone nicely. "This is going to sound stupid," he shrugged, "but I know you, but I don't."

Iris_virus
I think introing their names works just fine XD I can't imagine they had too much brain available after their sparring to remember to do that XD

As to your other thoughts…
I think that would be great actually! <3 Either "friends" or "friends with benefits" works great for me. ^__^ He can be a randy little goat at times but he's also British, so XD And yeah, she'd eat him alive, and he'd love every minute of it I'm sure XD <3

Her 'bloodlust' wasn't entirely gone even out of uniform. He'd only need to invite her to some form of competition again to rear that ugly head. Maybe a game of darts later or even a drinking contest, which she would fight like the dickens to win even though there was no possible way she could put down as much as an experienced and British drinker. She also, still, had a perchance of not knowing her own strength. But he would learn that all in time if they continued to hang out, something Aitana wasn't at all opposed to at the moment.

A house was nice, better then a crummy apartment, though it required a lot more cleaning (which was not Aitana's forte). A yard and garden though sounded pretty awesome, when he mentioned her coming to see it she nodded mildly, offering a noise of simple agreement. "Mhmmm" she was oblivious to his concerns of the extra conotations that his invitation might have given.

Waiting for her own beer to arrive, she was once against resting her head on her hand, this time her cheek, eyes turned to watch him as he spoke. And when he struggled with his words her brows furrowed, a face much like the one she made when she was trying to figure out what a word meant. In the end she took a guess, based more on his posture and face then the actual lack of words. "Aitana Ceu Matos." With her accent it rolled off her tongue like a pretty song, though it was perhaps a bit more of a mouthful to someone else. "Just Aitana."

Aitana. That was an unusual name. And the way she said her full name with her Portuguese accent was so lyrical and pretty. "Aitana," he nodded and repeated back. Not quite the same with his London accent, the middle syllable stretched out so that it sounded like AiTAWna. Still, it helped put the pieces of the puzzle together for him: Aitana was Juno was Aitana. This whole powered/not-powered identity dysphoria was weird, but he imagined it was a built-in safeguard for protection, like keeping your real identity hidden as Faust had told him to do. "Robin Attewood. Just Rob. Not as nice as your name, but I reckon it'll do."

The beer arrived at that moment, two pints instead of just one for her. Oh well, that meant he was going to have to finish the one he already had. Raising his glass, he saluted Aitana. "Cheers, love," he grinned, then he took a deep breath and downed the rest of his pint glass. "Mmm, good stuff. I hope you like it." He hoped the alcohol would help calm his uncharacteristic nerves.

"So," he started again, feeling a bit more relaxed, "tell me about Aitana, and I'll tell you a bit about Rob."

Iris_virus
Poor boy is just crap at small talk XD
PostPosted: Thu Aug 27, 2015 8:28 pm

When she said her own name it focused on the vowels, put careful emphasis on each one, but in particular the a and i that caused a soft "ah-ee" noise. So when her name was spoken in his own accent, recognizable but clearly different she couldn't help but laugh a little. It was a good natured laugh, not at him, but rather at the funniness of word. She actually quite liked it in a way. It was like his own special nickname for her, the same, but just subtly different. Just as Puck had seemed to be, subtly different and in a good way. The Brazilian nodded in soft approval.

However when he spoke his own name another laugh erupted from her. "Is girl's name, no?" She asked, the look on her face more one of genuine curiousity then anything teasing. "Ohh! Or tiny little cute bird." She motioned a tiny shape with her hands when she recalled the animal that also shared that name.

The shortened version was much more to her liking - strong and to the point. "Ahhh, now that I like very much. Very tough." And it was finally at that point that she seemed to realize, even if only barely, that perhaps taking a shot at someone's name and ego wasn't exactly the nicest, especially when he'd just bought her a beer. And as if to make up for it, she swung her fist at his shoulder lightly, giving him a bit of a crocked smile. "Is okay, you prove quite fine the other night how tough and man you are." It was her attempt at ego stroking, but it probably sounded like the weirdest conversation in the world if anyone happened to be listening in.

When he took the huge swig to finish off his drink Aitana took one of her own, not one to be one up'd. And though she didn't finish it (she had in fact downed about a third of it) it had been a healthy size, followed by a bit of a contented sigh. It really had been months and it probably wasn't going to take that much to affect her. It would be smart to slow down, but smart was not a word anyone had ever used when describing the green haired girl.

She wasn't generally a talker herself, especially about herself (unless she blustering about how tough she was), so when he asked her in such a vague way, she seemed to think for a long minute, as if not sure what to talk about. He already knew the best part of her.. Juno. What even was Aitana anymore?

"I was born in Brazil and I live there until I was 15 years. I came here because..." She stopped abruptly, catching herself just before she said something stupid. Not only because it was dangerous but also because she wasn't sure if Rob would understand. It was a conversation for a different time. Maybe. If he cared enough to know and she was feeling open enough to actually talk about it.

She took a more reasonable sip this time, a mere mouthful that she savored for a moment before continuing on. "At Meadowview I was top of volleyball team, is part of reason they let me do foreign exchange."

"But now I just work for construction crew." A wry smile crossed her face as she added with mild amusement. "Men there are bigger than me but also babies when it comes to heights. I do much of roof and scaffolding work because that." Scaffolding, now that had been a word that had taken her awhile to learn and get her head around. As it was there were still many tools and things on the worksite that she knew more by charades and explaination than real name.

It was all boring, and she didn't know what else to offer so she looked to him again. Either for him to ask something directly or deliver on his promise about 'telling her about Rob'.

"Yeah yeah, wee little cute birdie, I know," he grumbled. "It's why I go by Rob." His slightly bruised short-man ego was soothed, though, when Aitana gently punched him in the shoulder and complimented him on his toughness. He returned her crooked smile to let her know he wasn't angry. He imagined Robin wasn't as common a name in Brazil as it was in the UK. And for a compliment like that to come out of the mouth of a girl as tough as Juno, it was high praise indeed and sincerely meant.

With a bemused expression he watched her try to follow his drinking, draining about a third of her pint glass of beer. She'd be a tough girl indeed if she could keep up with him -- which he doubted. He almost admonished her with a gentle "Easy does it, love," but he thought he might offend her if he implied she wasn't able to match his alcohol consumption. And the last thing he wanted to do was offend her -- not just because he figured she could take him in a fight, but because he liked her.

She started talking about herself, and he found it came as a bit of a surprise to learn she'd left Brazil when she was 15. The reason that went unspoken intrigued him -- what had made her leave? It was pretty evident that it wasn't purely foreign exchange. He wasn't surprised at all, though, when she mentioned her time playing volleyball. She had the build of an athlete who played a mostly outdoor sport, tanned and sleekly powerful. He had the build of a punk musician himself, lean and whipcord-muscled; no tan on him either, he was as pasty pale as any good Brit was who didn't holiday in Spain or something.

He nodded as she spoke, listening to her broken English and her beautiful Portuguese accent, and laughed when she commented on how big a bunch of babies male construction workers were. "Yeah, blokes in general are like a bunch of babies," he grinned in a self-deprecating way. It didn't really surprise him that she found her home on rooftops and other high places. She was bold and fearless. Besides, canopies. It only made sense to him.

The expression on her face indicated that it was his turn now. "Right. So I was born and raised in London, lived there me whole life til late last year, when my mum and dad moved here for work." He didn't add that he hated it in Destiny City. "I'm a punk musician, had a band back in the UK, Torgo. We weren't your typical punk band -- sure there was a lot of angry stuff in our music but I mixed a lot of folk tunes and Celtic stuff in too. We played out a few places, and we were good. I've been trying to put the band together again since moving here, but I play just about every musical instrument so it hasn't been as high on my priorities. I busk too, playing music on street corners. Make a pretty good living that way," he smiled proudly, puffing himself up a little bit. He really did pride himself on his self-sufficiency.

He raised his glass again to her. "Here's to us," he toasted with a wry grin, "as odd a couple as you're likely to find."

Iris_virus
He's feeling much more relaxed now XD she soothed his ego! And he has beer in him XD

Aitana was to put it bluntly, rough around the edges. Not simply physically, but also in a social context and it wasn't really a rarity for her to blurt out something that others might take an offense to. And thinking ahead about someone else's 'feelings' before she spoke wasn't really a thing either. Just another one of the many reasons why she didn't really click with females as well in a social setting.

So she was lucky that Rob had taken the ribbing well enough and was quick to forgive. She didn't really want to fight him, well unless it was for fun.

The secret of why she'd come to Destiny City (and left for awhile and come back) was one that would have to be saved for a more private location or a powered meeting. And depending on the occasion might even take a little coaxing to get it out of her, and maybe even half an evening to try and explain that she kind of.. sort of..maybe did or didn't have a life in another time line where she was an acrobat in a corrupted circus. Yeah.. no. All of that really made her head spin and was something that Vesta or Ceres had been much better at explaining. Regardless, it was definiately not 'fun time at the bar' chit chat.

When the conversation turned thankfully to him, she straightened herself again, pulling forth a more healthy posture, as she shifted in the seat enough that her knees and body faced him slightly.

Rob also being from another country was no surprise of course, but his profession was. Though as soon as he mentioned it, it clicked together both the subtleties of his fashion and hairstyle, and even his body type in a way. She could imagine him in fact with a guitar stradling his chest or dreadlocks flying as he beat the tar out of a drumset.

It was interesting to her, even if she wasn't really the sort to follow music that closely, and wasn't even sure how much 'punk' she'd ever heard. She believed him when he said they were good, even more so when he mentioned what he did now. 'Busking' had been a word she didn't know, but the moment he'd explained it, she'd known exactly what he was talking about, giving a vibrant "Ahh" along with a vigorous shake of her head. She'd seen her share of street performers, contortionists mostly, and a few muscians. Aitana assumed you had to be fairly good to make enough money from it. "I will have to come see you some time when you do this.. busk." She offered thoughtfully. "Sounds like fun enough job. Not made to wake up at dawn or do boring s**t sometimes."

Taking another drink from her glass, a smile crept across the amazonian's face, clearly amused by whatever thought had crossed her mind. And she was happy enough to share it. "You become band to pick up on girls, yes?" She'd picked up on that in highschool of course, when garage bands and discussions of starting them were a dime a dozen. With boys it often did seem to come down to that.. proving their ego or picking up girls. She wasn't judging by any means, girls were nice after all.

When Rob raised his glass to toast Aitana followed in suit, clanking her glass before pouring it back, and pounding the empty glass back onto the bar counter (thankfully not hard enough to come anywhere near breaking the thick glass). "No s**t." She agreed to the sentiment. They certainly were a weird a** pair in plenty of ways.

And as if to further excentuate the point, she remembered something she hadn't mentioned before. Really it was more of a funny parlor trick then anything else anymore. "I also speak Japanense, better than English maybe."

"Konbanwa. Oai dekite yokattadesu." It sounded weird of course with her accent, but by god if it wasn't actual Japanese. She was a girl of many bizarre talents.

"I'd like that," Rob smiled in response to Aitana's coming to see him busk. "It really is a fun job. You get to meet all sorts of people and you get paid for it. Though it depends on where you play. I've got a couple of good spots that I play at where people throw lots of cash into my guitar case." He took a drink from his glass. "Mind you, I don't play punk. Mostly traditional folk tunes and some of me own stuff, and I play acoustic. No place to plug in on the street," he chuckled. "And yeah, I get to keep me own hours."

He went to take another drink and nearly snorted beer out his nose when she implied that he formed a band to get girls. "What? No no no, it was nothing like that!" he laughed. "Girls don't usually go after guys in punk bands, for one. And we don't usually go looking for girls. We're too busy being angry." It was true, too -- none of Torgo's fans in secondary school were girls, at least not girls who were looking to hook up with band members. The only girls Torgo attracted were rage-filled punk girls who were more interested in beating up boys than having sex with them.

Rob set down his glass after their toast and regarded Aitana, hand on his chin and elbow on the bar. She seemed to be like one of those rage-filled punk girls, even though she wasn't kitted out like a punk. She was punk on the inside, where it really counted. He was definitely growing quite fond of her, rough edges and all. In fact, he really liked those rough edges.

And then she demonstrated her Japanese language trick, and he blinked and stared. That was about the coolest thing he'd ever heard -- Japanese with a Portuguese accent. "Whoa," he finally said with a grin. "What does that mean, what you just said? I've heard Japanese, but I sure as hell don't speak it -- hell, I can barely manage American English."

Iris_virus
Ahahahah poor girl XD he's going to drink her under the table XD
PostPosted: Fri Aug 28, 2015 3:15 pm

She listened intently as he talked about performing, maybe just a little bit jealous. "I met a contor...." She paused a moment. "A man who can bend and fold himself all ways that was street performer once. He was going to teach me ummm..." Maybe the beer was already starting to take effect just a little bit, but it was probably just that she was searching for hard and not commonly used words. Parkour was the one she was looking for, but it was not the one she would find, instead shrugging and motion with her fingers instead. "When you jump from thing to thing. Car, balcony, roof. Too get around fast and cool. But I have not seen Warwick in long time."

She gave a laugh of her own when he struggled, clearly almost snorting out his beer and with the quickness he defended himself. To which she simply grinned wider, giving a vague wave up and over her shoulder. "Ah well.. I would not have blamed. Girls are very nice. Soft..."

A finger rubbed the rim of her pint glass thoughtfully, before adding mildly. "I think I like guys a little more though. Rougher. Sturdier. Harder."

"If they are doing it right at least." This thought, which only examplfied Aitana's lack of what 'too much information' was for polite conversation brought one more bemused look from her before she shifted in her seat again, one foot swinging back and forth.

The more he talked about music the more interested she was in hearing it. Before everything had gone down like it had she'd been quite the cheerleader of everyone's dreams and passions. She loved seeing what other people loved and seeing or experiencing new things.

She supposed she'd see soon enough if she went to see him busk sometime.

"You write own music?" It was something Aitana would never be able to do, unable to handle or compose her own emotions and thoughts, let alone put them into something beautiful and intellegent like music. She was clearly impressed. About as impressed as he'd seemed with her Japanese.

"Hah... It is just Good evening. Nice to meet you.."

"I live in part of Brazil that spoke and talked both things so I know both for my whole life. Is why I don't care that much about learning English better. Two and half languages is plenty."

"Well... maybe I pick up a few of your Englishes too." She winked.

tatterpixie
You have no idea, the math and science was not kind to her. XD

Men already can hold it better than girls, though I gave her some stat boosts for being tough. But apparently having a high metabolism, low body fat, and being athletic just means she's going to soak it into her blood like a sponge. So working off 16 oz pints she'll probably be signifigantly buzzed halfway through the second, and legitimately drunk if she gets past three.

Rob nodded with understanding as Aitana described what she was talking about. "Parkour? I think that's what you mean. Yeah, that is extremely cool. It'd be a good skill to have, actually. I think you'd be fantastic at it," he said decisively, recalling her initial backflip kick during their sparring session. That had caught him completely by surprise. "You're already athletic." He thumped his chest with his hand and grinned. "Me, I'd be terrible. I'm like a wee dog, or a goat -- I just run at things with me head," he laughed.

When she started comparing girls to guys, though, he turned his attention to his beer and took a deep drink, trying not to watch her finger on the beer glass. "Girls are nice," he agreed. "Soft and sweet." Idly he wondered what was soft and sweet about her. "I um… never took a fancy to blokes myself. I dunno, they just don't have the same appeal I suppose. At least not to me. Girls, though..." He decided to shut up before he started babbling. He wasn't quite prepared to go there with her, at least not yet. Hell, technically he'd just met her. He was still working out her idiosyncrasies, of which a direct connection between her brain and her mouth seemed to be one. "Yeah," he finished with a nod, and left it at that. For now.

He nodded enthusiastically, though, when the topic turned to music. "Yeah, I write me own songs. Play all the instruments too -- guitar, bass, drums… Plus others like violin, flute, clarinet. You put it in me hands, I'll play it," he laughed. "Except piano. Never got the hang of piano."

He leaned forward. "That's so cool that you speak so many languages. I had French in school, but I'll be damned if I can remember any of it. Guess because we never went to the French Riviera on holiday. Just Spain. Of course I never learned Spanish either." Cocking his head, he regarded her. "I think I like Portuguese better. It's a prettier sounding language. Maybe I can learn some from you," he winked back.

Iris_virus
Wow, I didn't know that! XD Poor girl XD He's feeling mellow too -- I figure he must have had a pint or two before she got there XD
PostPosted: Fri Aug 28, 2015 10:00 pm

"Yes that!" She proclaimed with a slap to the table when he properly figured out and even provided the name for her. It was still a weird word, and she probably still wouldn't remember it, but the point was that he understood. And she snickered a little quietly when he joked about being a dog or goat.

With Aitana making as much noise and commotion as she was it didn't take long for the bartender to notice her empty drink and, probably against his better judgement, bring her another.

She didn't particularly notice the discomfort (or rather, polite uncertainty) as their conversation turned to boys and girls. But luckily, since he hadn't had much to say on the topic himself it was pretty quickly brushed over, with her giving a mere shrug as she took a small drink of her new beer. "Everyone likes what they like." Which included her liking both genders and him liking only one.

"You play all instruments!?" Had she ever played a real instrument herself, and known how much effort went into mastering just one, she would have been even more impressed. But she was still pretty damn impressed nonetheless. Aitana was pretty sure you only ever saw someone playing one or two instruments. And for a moment, at his mention, her eyes actually dropped to his hands. To think they were magic enough to play all the instruments and pack the kind of punch he could. It seemed to be no lie that he was good with his hands.

"Guitars are cool. I like when they are loud and you can feel them here." Tapping lightly on her chest with two fingers, a little below the collar bone but still above the little bit of cleavage that was peeking from her tank top, she pointed to her sternum.

"Percussion is good too though. You hear much of it, many kinds, during Carnival. Is good for swaying hips to." She swiveled her hips once or twice on the chair, which creaked just a little as it followed her motions before she settled back down again.

"Have you been to Carnival? Or Mardi Gras?" After the Olympics and some of the other larger sporting events Carnival was one of her favorite things. A week of sheer freedom, where the rest of the world disappeared and you could choose to do nothing more than hop street parties or simply sit back and watch was bliss to a girl like her. With dancing, and music, and elaborate costumes and parades, and free flowing drinks and positive emotions. It was perhaps the opposite of his punk style, but nonetheless it was an experience that everyone should have. "I think you would like."

The slow tick of time was going unnoticed by Aitana now that the conversation was flowing, the initial awkwardness of introductions having passed. She seemed pleased when he complimented her language, because even though she'd left Brazil behind she still carried a fire and pride for her country and heritage. "Sure I teach you some things sometime if you like." Grinning a little mischevously she joked. "Curse words and dirty words first, yes?" Those were the first things you always wanted to learn when learning a new language right?

It was becoming apparent to Rob that Aitana was getting a bit tipsy. Truth be told, he was starting to feel a bit merry himself, loosening up under the effects of the beer. He'd already had a few before she'd arrived, so he had something of a jump on her in the alcohol consumption department. He noticed the bartender bring another drink to her and smirked a little. This would likely be the last one, given how she was behaving. But time would tell, wouldn't it?

"I agree, everybody likes what they like," he nodded, raising his glass again. "To liking what you like!" he proclaimed before downing another drink. "Mind you," he continued when he was done, "I like girls a lot." So maybe he wasn't quite done with the topic yet. "I like all girls, doesn't matter to me. My favorite bit?" He grinned cheekily. "The way they smell. Don't know why, but they smell so… nice. Even -- especially when they're not wearing any perfume." If he were being honest with himself, he'd admit that Aitana smelled amazing. But he was having too much fun talking with her now to process that.

He saw her eyes drop to his hands and grinned. "I like guitar the best, I think. I play real loud and aggressive-like -- big shock that, right? It like vibrates all through my body when I play, even acoustic. Maybe that more because it's the guitar itself acting as its own amplifier." Noticing her hips sway on the barstool, he swallowed a little before continuing. He bet she could dance like anything. "Um, I like drums too, probably for the same reason -- I feel it all through my body. It's more of a challenge, too, because of having to use all me limbs to play. And they help get all me aggressions out," he laughed. "Even hand drum -- that's fun," and he tapped out a quick rhythm on the bar with his hands, moving his body in time with his impromptu drumming.

Shaking his head, he took another sip of his beer, draining his glass. The bartender promptly brought him another one. "No, I've never been to either Carnival or Mardi Gras. Haven't travelled at all since moving here. I think I'd like to go someday, though. What's not to like about a massive days-long party?" If the things he'd heard and read about were true, he decided he'd love either celebration, despite his angry-punk attitude. A punk didn't have to be angry all the time!

"Ha, yes, absolutely curse words and dirty words first!" he laughed, clapping her on the knee. He had no clue what he had just done. "I bet even curse words sound pretty. You can curse someone out in Portuguese and it sounds like you're asking to make love to them or something, I bet. Such a pretty language." And such pretty people, if Aitana was any example.

Ahahaha yes, amazing what you learn about a character through RP. XD I'm learning that Rob can't quite hold his beer as well as he thinks he can. XD
