-Takes places July 30th-

Several days and an overnight stay at the hospital later, Imara found herself lost in the woods of their family’s property. She was currently attempting to climb one of the larger boulders they had un-earthed in the construction process but she was finding that doing so with one arm and a bruised rib was rather…impossible.

Imara had been finding alot more things difficult thanks to the doctors being pointed in her direction on the impromptu hospital visit. Two days ago, her younger brothers had decided to play superhero and bad guy. Strangely enough, the superhero now had a broken wrist and the bad guy had one heck of a black eye.

Her mother had pointed out her shoulder while they were there for them to just take a look at. It hurt more with them poking, cleaning, and sterilizing it than it had when he had bit her!

But he had done more than bite her.

She looked down at the blue sling they had ordered her to wear for at least three weeks due worry of something being torn or bruised. It had been almost a few days since she had powered up. Almost a four days since she had allowed her ‘Captain’ to see her.

To beat her into submission.

Sliding down the edge of the boulder, she found her butt on the dirt and her eyes closed as she threw her head back against it. “Dammit…” She hissed.

Her mental state had been shaken. There was denying that she was off her game and had been since that brawl. “Friendly spar my a**.” Imara hissed. “At least he hasn’t tried to make good on a bet…” That thankfully she never really agreed to anyway. There was zero way she was going onto her knees in front of him.

But wasn’t that just where she was?

Drawing up one leg towards her, Imara leaned her good arm over her knee and gazed out towards the woods. She listened. To the sounds of the wind in the trees and the birds holding on. The sound of a squirrel trying to protect its nest and nuts. The sound of…

Thunder over head.

Lifting her eyes towards the heavens, Imara watched the first rain drops of a storm fall and land on her cheek. It took it a few seconds before the slow and gentle rain began to find its rhythm and form little streams in the surface of the ground. She watched it for a moment, feeling the wind around her change from warm heat to a cool breeze. This was only the calm before the storm.

Slowly, and very unlady like, Imara found her way to her feet and began the long walk back to the house. It was not easy to admit defeat. It as hell was not easy to admit she needed help. That was something she would never live down. Even from Sonia or Destiny.

But as Imara walked, more like slugged, through the forming mud, something dawned on her. Something she had almost missed and had neglected to do since she accepted the chaos into her soul.

That night, even with one arm, Imara packed a bag as she clicked the Check Out button on Delta’s website. Something that made her happier than anything was something she had not done in months.

As she slung the bag over her good shoulder, Imara grabbed her phone up and sent only one text out. To Sonia. The fencer would worry after all. Or try to take on Mathias herself. That had been why Imara had not told her dear friend who was the source of the lovely teeth marks on her shoulder. Well, that and shame.

-Leaving town for a few days. Incase this is bugged, not saying where or when. Let you know when I’m back-

And with that she was out the door.
