History:
Dazarec was born in a large hold, where lots of people came frequently. His parents were happily married and he had one older brother. After the revolution, his family of bakers encouraged him to seek Benden Wherhold and start thinking of becoming a rider under Keller's reign; having loved the atypical dragons more than the normal colored and therefore favoring equality. At first the notion of becoming a rider didn't suit Dazarec and he rejected the idea, preferring to run around town with his friends and run little menial errands for his family's shop. One day, his whole world changed; a search rider had come to the hold. A magnificent beast with hide of the purest dark color of black Dazarec had ever seen. The dragon spoke to him first, before the rider had a chance, and it turned Dazarec's heart around. He wanted to ride with this rider, to soar into the skies on the backs of dragons. His parents were proud and encouraged him to go with the Search Dragon and Rider. Eagerly, he packed away a few belongings and was off to start his life in Benden Weyr.
Two years later, at the start of the Wherwars, Dazarec was a candidate in Benden, his main focus was becoming a rider to make his parents proud. One of his many talents, running, seemed to crop up a lot in his deliveries that he did for the riders and high people during this time as chores. Dazarec always thought that atypical colored dragons were better than the normal colors, and had always hoped one would pick him at some point. However, during the Wherwars it became apparent that Keller's philosophy of equality was a load of dragon dung. After the dictator's death, Dazarec and several other candidates, went with the refugees to make their mark in Trine.
Adjusting in Trine did not seem to prove a problem for the young candidate, he immediately went to work with whatever chores were given to him. He became a sour-puss, always working, always running. He could never sit still. It was noted and a lot of the chores he was given included messenger duties. Not that he could pursue the task until after his candidacy. When the Fall of the Golds occurred, Dazarec was actually stunned. He could scarcely believe it, not that it didn't make him over-joyed that colors all had a chance to prove themselves. He liked the notion of golds needing to earn their rank. It made him proud to be a member of Trine. The fact that he favored atypicals anyways didn't really lessen his excitement either.
He's come to terms with the fact that he might never get a dragon, and it doesn't quite bother him. Maybe if he cannot get a dragon he can impress a spit-fire wher to be his friend and companion.
Description:
Dazarec looks as though he hasn't quite grown into his own body. He's lithe and childish looking with lanky arms that lack real definition. His legs are the legs of a runner for certain, with thick calves and muscles that don't quite look right with the boy's otherwise lanky appearance. If only he cared more for his upper body. He has dusty brown hair that is already balding a little and blue eyes that seem more sunken into his narrow, chiseled face. He looks a like he should be a teen despite his age. His skin is usually red from the sun as he is most often outdoors. He wears the usual candidate uniform, though occasionally likes to spice things up with a leather vest he received as a gift from a green rider when he first arrived.
Personality:
Dazarec is a trustworthy man. If there's a job to be done you can assure yourself that he will accomplish it in speedy time. He's jumpy and cannot sit still for more than a few moments. Relaxation is not his strong suit and often times people cannot seem to quite understand him. His speech is somewhat slurred and rushed, and thus he uses few syllables. Many people dislike his hardworking nature and suggest he take more fun in life. But, fun is not in his nature. He cannot joke, although he thinks he has a sense of humor. He does not know how to let loose and enjoy the world around him. His on the go personality makes it hard for him to make friends and he tends to get pretty lonely at times. He doesn't usually get mad at others and is more willing to just run from conflict rather than meet it head on.
Other:
• on dragons: he thinks they're hard working and therefore doesn't have qualms with them.
• on atypicals: he loves them more than he loves normal colors. he's glad for the fall of queen leadership and enjoys watching crimsons fly.
• on whers: he likes how fierce they are.
• on war: he doesn't like conflict, tending to run away.
• on people: he doesn't understand laid back folks and prefers the working class.
• on politics: what is that? he has no clue.
