Verona's patrols were pretty boring most nights. She had, she thought, no work, and was barely gonna make rent for the month. She should be out taking on some more bouncer jobs. Maybe even offer herself for some serious grunt work at the construction sights.
She didn't care for the men oogling or whatever, but she did what she needed too.
And yet, here she was, out and about on patrol, instead of getting another job. Like being a knight did anything more then instant gratification. She sighed as she played with the dress. Hopefully tonight would be a lot more interesting then another night.

Patrols were dull. Particularly when there weren't as many easy victims for energy theft milling around. Sighing, the diminutive Dark Mirror wondered if she should just power down and go home. There was still so much work to do on the costumes she'd taken on for her theater group.
Half convinced to give up for the night, Orcus suddenly found herself watching a very... sparkly giant walking around. Tall. Very tall. And sparkly. And rainbowy in a way that just struck Orcus as terribly gaudy. She felt her jaw drop a little as she watched this girl. And without intending it, her thoughts burst out of her throat, almost of their own volition.
"Sweet, holy ********, girl. Did a rainbow puke you up or what?"

Verona wasn't good with the whole Aura things till, so while she knew that Babylon felt like a good time at the club, she got the feeling that there was something brewing. Like trouble on the floor. Like when you see that guy that starts hammering back drinks, or the girl who would throw some shade at another.
But it wasn't like so strong to be a problem. She didn't have to go far before a voice was calling out to her and she was turning her head....down to a girl a little but further out then her.
Her outfit was interesting too, all that sheer and the jems and the...but her question made Verona snort and she waved her hand. She didn't know if the chick was bad or whatever, but she wasn't going to attack right away.
"I think so, That's what I was told. Cosmos pages get pretty dresses, even the dudes. Not very practical though." She came closer and admired how well the girl looked. She had that classy gray hair that was coming into trend. It worked well with her eyes and the makeup well...Verona loved good hair and makeup, so Orcus passed in all that way.
"How you doing pretty lady?" Verona tilted her head, "I hope you don't find this rude Babe, but are you one of the negaversers or something?"

Snorting a little in disdain at the idea that she belonged to the Negaverse, Orcus narrowed her eyes and slowly circled the other girl. The words 'Cosmos page' didn't mean much to her. Okay, so this girl was a knight then? She wasn't attacking though and Orcus' curiosity was enough to keep her from breaking whatever unspoken truce was at work here.
"Not practical at all. Anyone could see you coming from a mile away and have time to prepare all kinds of nasty surprises. Apparently whatever magic that works with knights is as stupid as the magic that picks out and dresses a senshi."
Craning her head to look at the girl, Orcus could only shake her head. Between the height and the outfit, this girl was an automatic fail in the stealth department.
"I'm Dark Mirror Court. We are infinitely better than the Negaverse senshi since, from the little I've heard on the grapevine, we don't end up forgetting everything when we cross over. We also are not burdened with enough hair to put Rapunzel to shame. Also, my name is Orcus, not babe. Please do not call me babe. I don't even let my friends call me babe."

Verona didn't mind being circled, she might've cocked her hip a little, cross her arms and wait till Orcus came back around to her.
"s**t, don't I know it? I'm like a beacon for attacks. Hey come get me." She made a motion and then grinned. "Good thing I don't mind fighting right? I don't mind a good brawl at all."
She didn't mind being fail in stealth, cause hey Orcus...You were noticing her. Wink wink.
"Dark mirrors? Oh yeah?" She continued to grin, "Hair could be fun, not fun when you wanna fight though. What's the deal then? Why do you feel like chaos? Does that make you bad guys....Orcus?"

Something about this cheerful giant was beginning to grate at Orcus' nerves. She didn't like the familiarity and the weird emphasis this girl was putting on her name. Seriously, it had been a polite request.
Even less did she like being put on the spot to try and explain the difference between the Dark Mirrors and Negaverse. Still. She was aiming for civility for the moment, so thought for a moment and did her best to outline the little she knew.
"Bear with me here, okay?" she began as she closed her eyes and massaged the bridge of her nose. "We feel like Chaos because we are. It's just... it set in with us differently. And no, I don't know how or why. It is what it is."
She cast a slight glare up at the knight and snorted in a most unladylike manner.
"Oh please. Good guy, bad guy is so ******** archaic. Especially when people from both sides go skittering off to join another. My leaders prefer us to try and stay as neutral as possible."
Okay, maybe not entirely true, but the other girl didn't need to know that.

"Bearing!" Verona crossed her arms and waited for the waft of a female to tell her the deal. Something seemed to grate on the girl's nerves and Verona couldn't help but smile. She was either well accepted or not.
"Sure okay, so you guys are different but at the end of the day, draw power from the same..." She drew her finger in a circle. "side. Chaos and stuff."
She waited, "Neutral sounds boring as hell. C'mon. You gotta like one side or the other. Especially when it fits your needs." Verona raised a brow, "Is that how this war works? Everyone side swaps for the hell of it?"

Doing her best to keep a reign on her temper, Orcus appeared to be genuinely considering Verona's words.
"Our power comes from the Mirror," she murmured. "As I said, it's set in differently with us. And frankly, I'm inclined to think it settled into us better. As I said, we keep our memories."
With a much put upon sigh, she shifted her weight slightly.
"As for liking one side or the other, well. There are those on both sides that I find admirable and those that, quite frankly, make a dead and rotting squid seem like a pleasant dinner companion. Doesn't make me trust either side any more or less than I already do. And honestly, if it weren't for the fact that we are trying to be a bit friendlier, you'd have a rather large target painted on your forehead. Our... hrmm... departed Queen didn't like Knights at all."
Crossing her arms over her chest, she smiled disarmingly, and yet still managed to bare all of her teeth.
Really, for Orcus, this was positively friendly.

Verona was patient enough to wait. As she was curious to what the colorful girl had to say.
"I see. You keep memories, got the power and stuff? What's it mean to have power from mirrors?" Verona was VERY curious.
"No?" Verona rubbed her chin. "I wonder why." Orcus had quite the toothy and intimidating smile, but Verona had never been intimidated by anyone before.
"Why be friendly at all? How do we benefit you?"

Hrmm... what were the benefits of being nice, after all? Orcus frowned slightly in thought as she considered and weighed her words carefully. She wasn't sure how many of the rumors of odd futuristic memories that this Verona had heard. Or even if she carried some herself.
And thinking about the rumors brought a shivery, creepy feeling racing up her spine that she didn't like at all. Like there was something unpleasant just barely brushing against her own memories.
"As far as the power goes, we collect energy differently. We have wraiths to do the job for us. We can't reach out and touch your starseed. And we can walk though mirrors as long as they're big enough on both sides."
Tapping a finger against her chin, she finally shrugged and laughed a little harshly.
"As far as I can tell, your existence doesn't really benefit me at all. But that's me. Personally. My leaders obviously feel otherwise these days and think that having friendly or at least neutral contacts within the knights is no bad thing to foster. And since I trust at least half of my leadership, I'm behaving."

"So like, You aren't attempting to kill people when you suck up all their energy right?" Verona closed her eyes and tried to process. Like any way it was said, seemed bad.
"s**t girl, you could like, give me some ice before you burn me." Verona wrapped her arms around her and waved her hands.
"You don't seem like the type to behave well. What up with your leadership huh? Why can't you trust all of it?"

"Yes, well, shade has never been my style," Orcus replied with half a smile. "Why would I want to drain anyone to the point of death? That just produces a new variant of the vampire dilemma. No, I'm happy to leave people alive and only take what I need."
Now her lips twisted with distaste, "You will also never see me attacking a child or old person, quite unlike those senshi who were awakened to the Negaverse's brand of Chaos."
Snorting in amusement, she set her hands against her hips and stared up (and up and up) at the knight.
"Yeah, well. You don't seem like the behaving type either, twinkletits. And for my leaders, it's simply preference. Remarque brought me to the Mirror and I trust him. Leto just... Well, I haven't exactly seen her in action, so why should I trust her?"
She opened her mouth to say more when the distant sound of tolling bells snapped her back into the present. Was it really that late?

"Of course I don't behave. Well if you aren't about draining then I guess I'm not really worried about causing you any trouble short stuff." Verona grinned.
The toll of bells didn't go unnoticed by the cosmos knight either and she looked up. She was going to be late to seeing Van if she kept up around here.
"Well as enlightening as this is, I think I'm gonna call it good and sleep with my girl." Verona blew a kiss at the other girl, "Have a good night short stuff, Thanks for not attacking my face."
And the knight zipped away.

Staring after the departing knight a little bemusedly, Orcus finally shook her head. Crazy knight. Still, it had been interesting.
Laughing a little, Orcus turned and began to head for her own home. She might not have a girl to sleep with, or a boy for that matter, but that was fine by her.
"Crazy knight," she muttered under her breath.
