"Well?" C'tis posed in an exaggerated fashion and smirked at Rochelle. "What do you think?" Rochelle's opinion was required on the newly made dress jacket C'tis had been awarded for his part in the Twilight Flames' victory in the Wing Relay. "Y'know I find it pretty funny that three of the top five wings were led by crimsons. The old Benden crew must be fuming, and what's his name who placed fourth." Though the guy was native to Trine C'tis knew that his bronze had very definite ideas about the pecking order of the world. "Beaten by two crimsons, and a bronze who believes in equal opportunities," C'tis added with a mock sad shake of his head, and a shark-like grin. "Whatever is the world coming to!" Of course crimsons had always been wingleaders and such at Trine but he no longer resented that, he just found it damn funny that the real traditionalists had had their noses put out of joint by the results. Oh yeah, and also he was smug because he'd won.
<> Malcarreth said dryly, including his rider, Kibeth, and Rochelle too in his words. <>
C'tis just smirked some more.

<excruciating for him>>, Kibeth added, her snide tone matching Malcarreth's. <>
"Of course they were led by crimsons. We're the best," Rochelle grinned, all teeth and only a little edge of smug satisfaction for her fellow crimsonriders. "Granted that is fully dependent on the crimson in question. I hope those bronzeriders went to their weyrs and wept."
She let her perch on the bed to inspect C'tis properly, bright eyes narrowed in the study of someone very much used to nice clothing and how it fit. She tugged at the bottom lightly, poked at any clasps or toggles she could fin. "Not only did you both help lead our wing to victory, you did it against our former Wingleader."
Another grin, this time more pride in C'tis than sharp edged animosity to the sparkly hided older group. Rochelle reached up, small fingers straightening a collar that didn't need it but she wanted to touch regardless. "You look good."

<> Malcarreth drawled in response. <>
C'tis snorted and waved a hand in the general direction of his dragon despite the fact that the beast was outside and he was inside. "Oh shut up, wherry face, whatever, you won. Happy now?"
<> the spotted blue replied with a huff of amusement.
"Anyway, quite right, other than that crimsons are best next to blues," C'tis continued to Rochelle, still smirking and leaning in to give his weyrmate a brief kiss on the lips. "But I'll forgive you that little mistake because I am so damn pleased we beat Dauntless! The bronzes moreso I suppose, but I'm still really smug about that. Can you believe one of their riders didn't show up for their leg because she was in bed with her weyrmate? I bet Kleos is going to skin her alive, if she hasn't already.
"Oh," C'tis smirked some more, "and I'm glad you think I look good. You look god too." This was said, and meant, irrespective of what Rochelle looked like unless she was actively sick or covered in s**t or something like that; rose tinted goggles had their limits and oozing and stinking were among them.

"Mmhmm. And I'm letting you pretend it was a mistake because you both beat Dauntless," Rochelle laughed, leaning up on her toes to return the kiss. Idiot was still tall. Old men were supposed to shrink. She kept that part to herself and hands on C'tis. Oh, but that part of the gossip -- Rochelle's face all but lit up. "I didn't even know someone was too busy taking a tumble to be there. Are you serious? Oh my -- That is amazing. I at least had the excuse of someone breaking ridiculous amounts of tiny glassware and needing them replaced. Just. Wow. We wouldn't even be that terrible."
Despite ditching Kleos and bailing to Euclid, they had reasons beyond shagging one another's brains out. Shards, that would've been easier at Trine than Euclid. She'd gotten over that part in the last decade, especially since she still had the smirking wherson around all the time. Gross.
"Oh, please," Rochelle scoffed even as one hand went up to pat his cheek in a gesture more affectionate touch than actual pat. "We both know you only stay because of my charming personality and delicate, ladylike ways." Her grin kicked up a notch and the touch turned to a gentle press of a knuckle to his chin. "Good job, weyrmate. You did me proud and have successfully kicked rear with your blue dragon, atypical Wingleader, in a new Wing."

"Yeeep," C'tis grinned wickedly at the chance to talk down some other rider who he happened to assess as a complete tit. "Some girl called Kalendol, riding a green sadly because you know some people will make it about the 'flighty colour'. But yeah, she turned up in time to go after the next rider along but that still gave them two time penalties. So sad, right?" Hahaha. It wasn't that he had anything personal against Kleos as such, she just had a stick rammed so far up her arse it prodded her brain, and so it was funny to think of her being as livid as she must be right now.
"We should celebrate," C'tis decided a moment later. "Fancy a trip out to a Hold somewhere, or just a bottle of wine in here? My treat, they gave me three marks along with my fancy jacket." He'd never been much good at or interested in saving if there wasn't something he had his heart set on at the time, why miss out on pleasure today when you could easily be dead in the next Fall? Stupid, in his opinion.

<> Kibeth mused, not bothering to shield her thoughts from any of the other three. <>
Rochelle huffed.
<> Kibeth cooed the words, not at all sarcastic. Nope.
"You're a s**t, Kibs," Rochelle tilted her head up to the top of the weyr, squinting even if Kibeth wasn't out that way. Her dragons laughter echoed in her thoughts even after they turned back to C'tis. "I wish I could feel sympathy for the stupid but it's sadly not one of my many talents. I'm kind of in awe over how terrible that is."
... But no way would she say 'shaff no' to celebration, especially not in those forms. She grinned, pleased as punch at the options and the fact that he asked her which she preferred. Silly as it was, after the start of their relationship, it always made a little warm fuzzy flitter in her stomach. "Your win, your celebration, your choice. You're getting a second celebration here later regardless of where we go or don't go. D'you want to celebrate in public in the fancy coat and glorious me or in private where you can still wear the coat but not preen about it with others?"

<> Malcarreth agreed. <>
C'tis grinned. "Yeah, I guess we are." He was in a good enough mood not to feel the need to bicker with Mal on that one; he was lucky, Roche was lucky, they were lucky to have their dragons and lucky to have one another. He was still a bit amazed he hadn't shaffed it all up somehow or other. "Let's go out then," he decided aloud with a decisive nod. "We can swan around and show one another off somewhere for a while, drink and eat some nice stuff, and then come back here and kick back. Sound good? We could go to Ista, can't get better food than Ista, or to Benden for the wine? I've decided we're going out so why don't you pick where?" There wasn't anywhere Rochelle liked to go for food and such that he didn't so he was happy to go with her whim. "You up to flying again then old wher?" he asked aloud, the question directed mentally at Malcarreth too of course.
Malcarreth huffed, but it was an amused huff. <>

<> Kibeth snorted. Her comment met a wall of silence from Rochelle until the crimson flicked her tail with a mental eyeroll. <>
"Ista. Benden has great wine but I'm more in the mood to wear something that doesn't have two layers." She winked and leaned up again for another quick kiss before dropping back to the balls of her feet. "You in your fancy coat and I'll make sure to haul something out worth showing off. I'm pretty sure the ivory dress and the dark corset will all but match your new pretty." She flicked her fingers at the edges of it, s**t eating grin in place.
"And if you think it's too cheesy to match, I'm probably going to wear it anyway. It's the scoop necked one."

<> Malcarreth agreed easily, yawning and getting to his feet; seemed like he was going to be called upon to do things soon.
"Oh, but it's so hot in Ista I couldn't possibly wear anything else on the top half," C'tis grinned as they drew apart from the kiss, taking off his jacket in order to take his shirt off in turn. He then replaced the jacket and stretched, making sure to flex his muscles nicely and twist to the light to show off his scars. What? Wasn't a guy allowed to show off for his weyrmate's enjoyment? "And you'll look fantastic in that, plus your knots of course." He couldn't quite fathom the idea of going out and having her taken for anything other than his equal; Holds still had some old fashioned ideas so a pretty woman in a pretty dress without knots on the arm of a rider.... Well, people didn't think she was a fellow rider, that was for sure.

Kibeth stretched out lazily like a cat, back arched as she unwound from the ground. Her narrow snout shoved at Malcarreth's flank. <I'm not the one who just beat out the entirety of the Weyr.>>
"Oh, no, whatever shall we do! You will be unable to wear those stifling shirts." Rochelle laughed, hopping back from him to allow C'tis to do just that. She whistled low with each stretch, already skirting to her dressing area save for the spying on her weyrmate. Clothing littered the trail. She'd pick it up once dressed like a proper adult but in the meantime, it stayed there rather than her body so she could get suitably dressed as well. Her own random scars appeared - accidents at work, minor things from the war - but they hardly had the same appeal as his did.
"Of course with my knots," She called back, tugging the dress on as she did so. "We can't have them thinking the celebrating rider allowed himself to be purchased for the night. You'll bring shame on your fellow riders and all other wealthy women with their man-candy will want you. Then I'll have to fight them, C'tis." Rochelle adjusted herself, heaving a sigh - and other things. "You don't want me to end up facing disciplinary charges because I had to fight a Ladyholder, do you? Cause I'd do it. To protect your honor."

"I'd pay to watch you fight a Ladyholder," C'tis said with a wicked grin. "I'd pay a lot." Rawr, yes please, ladies beating the hell out of one another over his honour. Naturally Rochelle would win with her hair all over the place, a few bruises, maybe a split lip.... Anyhoo. "You need a hand with the corset there luv?" He hadn't watched her get dressed, he knew she wouldn't mind if he had but he enjoyed the undressing later more if he hadn't seen the inverse process.

"Do yourself a favor and bring that up when it's nearing the day you rescued my a**. You might get lucky and I might be in the mood to punch a Ladyholder for your enjoyment." She grinned over her shoulder at him, though from times past she also figured he'd be looking elsewhere or doing something else. Not that she blamed him; watching somewhat shimmy into clothes was hardly fun to watch, especially when it required dresses and lacing. "Thirty seconds and then yes, please."
Deft fingers made quick work of the laces at the front of her dress, tightening them as much as they could go. At least three would be loosened once the corset was in place. The casual endearment didn't make her panic now but rather made her smile all over again.
"Right, I'm good. If it were a front laced one I could manage but..." She shrugged, pulled the corset on with a little face, and headed back over to C'tis. "The front ones wouldn't match."

"Mmmmh." When Rochelle came over C'tis lent down to place brief kisses on the scars the marked her face and ears from those times. "Around then I'd rather just be with you. Laugh at me and call me a sap but there it is." He'd thought she was gone, dead, and she hadn't been and that was what he always remembered that time time the turn. Sometimes he stayed awake just to make sure she really was still there, heavy and sleeping against him.
"Turn!" C'tis continued after a moment, either moving around Rochelle or waiting for her to do so in order to reach the laces. Top laces, move down to the middle, then the same at the bottom, and so on until he judged they were at about the normal position. "That okay for you?" he asked, holding the central laces so they didn't get confused or anything.

Rochelle smiled and closed her eyes while he dotted her face with kisses. She'd been lucky in regaining full movement of her hands; even the scars faded to look like nasty burns made by fire, healed over turns ago. They'd never be pretty but... she had been lucky. "I'd never laugh at you for that. And being a sap would only be said in the very fondest of ways. A hug would be involved."
She turned quickly, sweeping her hair out of the way to give him the proper visuals. She shifted a little once he'd paused and nodded. "Perfect." Then, "What I remember the clearest is how you screamed my name, even if you couldn't see me when you first crashed in. Just, 'Rochelle, Rochelle get over here now'. There was everything before and after, I still remember that even if I don't want to, but nothing is as crystal clear as you there with your knife, looking around, your voice louder than the cave collapsing." She smiled a little, a huff. "You override the bad memories of that place most of the time. So now which one of us is the sap?"

"Um." He remembered. He blinked rapidly a few times but failed to banish the tears trying to run down his face at the sudden painful swell of emotion. They didn't say stuff often but it was there and- C'tis wiped the tears away and shoved Rochelle's shoulder playfully even as he sniffed and rubbed his eyes again. "You're the sap, clearly. But. Y'know. I do feel kinda lucky. Sometimes! Only sometimes. Just to be clear and all." He remembered the terror that he'd never see her again, even though Kibs had been back home that thought had settled deep inside him and.... Some things didn't leave you, her or him he guessed.
