This week on Mobile Suit Battle Weekly, we have Zeon's notorious MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom VS the Federations advanced RGM-89 Jegan. The question..... Who would win in a dog fight?

I understand if its more modernized or has more weapons but the one operating the mobile suit is what counts in my opinion. xp

Yeah sure it depends on the pilot but the pilot can do so much if the machine is outdated compared to the newer machines.

Yeah sure it depends on the pilot but the pilot can do so much if the machine is outdated compared to the newer machines. Like when Kira piloted the Strike Rouge. The newer Zaku Warriors were able to overwhelm him because the Strike was outdated.

As much as I like the Jegan, Believe me I do. Personally i'm a Zeon when it comes to these's discussions . *Waves the Zeon National Flag* GOUF all the way man!

Technically the RGM series has been proven to defeat zeon's Ms series. My stake is on the Jegan. ninja

Hm. Let's see... Jegan's beam rifle, grenades/rockets, beam sabre, shield and more advanced construction due to its time of development against the gouf's heat wire, three barrel gun, gattling shield, and heat sabre...
If the gouf had an experienced pilot I'd give it a chance but I'd have to go with teh Jegan. The Beam rifle would allow it to attack the gouf with more firepower while the shield would defend it against the gatling gun. If they were in close range at first however I'd go with the gouf slightly as the heat wire can disable a suit, and the shield could block the beam saber if treated properly. Then a heat saber to finish it off and presto. So in conclusion:
At range; Jegan
Mid; Jegan
Close combat; Gouf.
Space: Jegan
Ground: Gouf
Overall: Jegan.

Agreed. Gouf Custom is a specialist. It does a few things very well for its era. The Jegan, meanwhile, has an advantage in most engagement types as a well-rounded unit. The fact technology advanced means that it has at least a fair chance to hold its own against the Gouf Custom even in the areas it specializes in, and can even further outpace the Gouf Custom in the areas the Gouf Custom was not meant for.
Now, if the Gouf Custom is supported by other machines that cover its weaknesses for other combat types and has a skilled veteran pilot, then it could be used to optimal effect...but a straight Gouf Custom vs. Jegan contest, all things being equal such as pilot skill, the Jegan is far more likely to win in more environments.
