Olga's nose was practically pressed against the screen of her Paperwhite Kindle, and everything about her hunched over posture screamed that she was utterly absorbed into the device. She was seated, cross legged, on the ledge of a fountain in a park. Black eyes rapidly skimmed back and forth and her finger tapped the screen like clockwork to fling her into the emotional depths of the next page of the story. On top of that, tears were sliding out of the corners of her eyes, and though her vision blurred, it didn't deter her from reading.

"Jamie, you magnificent b*****d--" She choked to the Kindle, louder than what was considered appropriate to be talking to ones self. "Damn you, Claire--being the recipient of Jamie's hot passionate love--damn you, book, making me cry--I can't believe I'm crying while reading!" She tried sucking in a deep breath to ease the emotional knot in her chest.

Auguste had been taking a little walk with Pasha, the dog bounding along excitedly in front of him. He was still a bit of a puppy, but he was growing rapidly each and every day, especially since he was being doted on constantly by not only Auguste, but Nadia as well, and sometimes the others when they came by.

As of right now, as a matter of fact, Pasha was yanking on his leash, desperately enthusiastic about being able to be out in the park, yipping and gamboling along. If Auguste had not been watching where he was going, he would have run into the bench they were passing, wrapping his fingers around the leash.

"Come on, darling, it's all right - " he said laughing - and then slowed his steps, eyebrows raised, because the girl on the bench was...crying?

He could have kept walking, but -

"Pardon me," said Auguste, peering around the back of it. "Are you all right?"

She didn't reply at first, still too absorbed in reading. By now, at least, her tears had dried up, but she was still rather choked up. "Oh, Jamie--sending her through the stones again, my god damn feels are being bent over a desk with no lu--"

It was then Olga noticed the puppy out of the corner of her eye, and black eyes shifted to the creature, then to the leash attached, then to the hand holding the leash, and then to the face of the guy holding it. She blinked rapidly, looked down at the dog, and then looked back up at the guy. A moment went by before she dropped her kindle on her lap, dug into the bag next to her, and then pulled out an old looking Polaroid camera--

SNAP!

A flash signified the photo she just snapped of Auguste, and she grinned as the white square came out. She put the camera back in the bag after plucking the developing photo out of it, and then proceeded to wave it back and forth.

"Puppies are pretty romantic, yanno!" She informed him, looking a bit silly waving the photo and fanning herself with it. "Girls eat that s**t up! I mean, it's an overplayed trope, but it works! The cute face you're sporting doesn't hurt either!"

Auguste's expression in the photo she had taken was probably one of polite confusion as he blinked at her, so taken aback that he didn't protest. Not that he would have minded if she had asked, but he was more or less just wondering why she was taking a picture in the first place. It wasn't like he was all that good looking anyway, even if Nadia kept saying so. His features were slender, almost effeminate, long hair swept back away from a pale, narrow face.

"So I've heard, actually," said Auguste, smiling a little once he'd managed to get over his initial startled reaction. Pasha tugged on the leash, straining to go meet new friend. "My roommate was the one who picked him out for me, I think she said at some point that girls liked boys with dogs."

Not that he was even looking to pick anyone up at present, male or female. Auguste tilted his head to the side curiously.

"What were you crying about? And why did you take a picture of me?"

And that expression of polite confusion was starting to appear as the picture developed. Olga looked pleased as punch as she looked at it, thinking about the start of her Pairing Board. Fresh to Destiny City, she had to build up her pool of potential once more.

"Oh yeah?" Olga glanced at Auguste, and then at the puppy, and let out a squeal as she suddenly pushed her kindle off to the side and dropped to the ground. Her free hand moved to pet Pasha, and she grinned. "Your room mate knows what's up!" Also this puppy was a good pick up magnet. So sweet and friendly!

"Huh--OH!" Olga's head shot up to look at him. "Have you ever heard of the Outlander series!?" She asked with an intensity as her eyes bore into his.

Pasha, of course, delighted in the attention and eagerly lapped it up, squirming and squealing as he was paid attention to. The Samoyed was still rather small and puppy-ish, but his seemingly endless abundance of white fluffy fur made him resemble a little cloud rather than an actual dog at times.

Auguste, in the meantime, tilted his head to the side curiously.

"She does know what's up," he said with a fond smile, and then blinked.

"Out...lander?" Auguste shook his head slowly. "No, I don't believe I do..."

"Oh my gosh--" She was talking to herself as she stared at Pasha. "It's like a cotton ball on legs--" She made a mental note to search for this kind of dog later on Tumblr--because she didn't doubt that it had it's own page. Plus adorable gifs. Adorable fluffy gifs that could be applied to shipping--

Speaking of--

Olga was suddenly beside Auguste, bumping shoulders with the guy as she whipped up her iphone, already pulled up to one of her many tabs of Outlander gifs.

"So--" She started scrolling down so that Auguste could take a lot of them all in. "It's one of the most epic romance stories of all time. A war nurse is sent back in time to Scotland in the late 1700s where she meets this Highlander Scottish beefcake--" Olga then made a sound like one makes after taking a bite of a delicious piece of food.

"I won't spoil it for you--you should read it." She grinned at him. "Everyone should read it."

Well, her assessment wasn't necessarily wrong. Pasha was kind of like a cotton ball on four legs, and he bounced around excitedly, yipping and yapping and generally exuding more energy than his politely confused owner. Auguste was still looking at the girl with an expression that clearly said he had no idea what she was talking about.

He did, however, look at all of the pictures she was showing him, at the very least to be polite. Auguste tilted his head, tapping a finger against his chin thoughtfully.

"And these books, you were - crying over these books?" he asked, glancing sideways at her.

And Olga would have gone on showing him gifs--except that he brought up the books. It saved him from the gifs, but not from the obsession. Never from the obsession.

"Well not crying over them so much--crying because of one--" Olga slung an arm around Auguste's shoulder, and clenched her iPhone with the other as her head tilted skyward. "Gosh, just thinking about Jamie's love and devotion to Claire right now is making my throat choke up--" She then snapped her head back down.

"But I can't tell you anything more because then it'd be spoilers, and you should read the books!" She grinned at him expectantly, and after a moment she piped up again. "Oh! I'm Olga, by the way!" She finally introduced, since she had her arm around him now. She slipped her phone into her flannel shirt pocket and then held it out to him to shake with a fox-eyed grin.

He made a little startled sound in the back of his throat as she tossed an arm around him, Auguste staggering a little. He glanced at the phone, then glanced at the girl's face, trying to figure out what she was saying, because it was like a different language, really.

"Olga," he repeated, because this was something he could understand. "Er. Yes. Hello, I'm Auguste."

He accepted her hand and gave it a shake, smiling at her.

"Are these like...are these your favorite books, then?"

Olga shook his hand with a lot of enthusiasm, grinning at him all the while. "Nice to meet you--" Olga's attention then snapped back down to Pasha though, her black eyes widening. As if this gesture would also stop time, she placed her hand on Auguste's chest to further the point.

"Wait a minute---"

Her eyes got wider as she stared at the puppy.

The poor confused young man's question went unanswered for the moment. "I know that cotton ball on legs!" She exclaimed, now pointing at the puppy. "Nadia brought him to see me!" She then looked back at Auguste with wide sparkling eyes. "Are you Nadia's room mate?"
