Aim parts...

Yitzah post 1:
“Hey.” Yitzah turned to look behind her on the Janarim, giving Anya a sort-of smile. She’d gone back to see if the other girl was doing okay, and apparently she wanted to leave too - what a coincidence that Yitzah happened to have a large beastie at her disposal who loved Alkidikes. Xarthin was, for certain, a delighted beast and probably spoiled beyond any of the brother’s hopes. “So, Anya, where too? I’m headed anywhere but here.” If her sisters were stupid enough to ignore them, the bugmen could have them. Yitzah was not ready to hunt them yet. Honestly, she was heading for Oba to meet up with Rei and Keel, but if Anya wanted to go elsewhere, Yitzah didn’t mind.

-----

Anya post 1:
“Anywhere but here sounds fine.. and umm.. away from Andile.” Andile was were she was from, and that meant facing her stupid sister and her idiocy too soon…and as an Alkidike town, it would be filled with people arguing just like here. She was tired of these people, tired of their arguments, their arrogance, and thinking everything belonged to them!

She looked at the beast she was perched on and poked it’s scales gently. “What is this beast? It’s not from Jahuar is it?” Jahuar did not have this large of reptiles…. Maybe it was from matori? She’d heard of large scaled creatures from there!

-------

Yitzah post 2:
Well that was a plan Yitzah could get behind! She kicked Xarthin into a walk, which meant an enthusiastic shove against his scaled sides and yet another encouraging treat to get him moving, which he did. Honestly, the presence of two interesting young Alkidikes encouraged him to move more than either the treats or the shoving did, but if Yitzah understood that, she didn’t let on.

“Xarthin’s a Janarim. They’re from the desert - the Obans use ‘em for war, mostly.” she said, rubbing the leathery scales of his neck, “He’s a big, bold bruiser.” she said affectionately, “And he’s not mine, though I wish he were - he belongs to these two Obans that I know.” she grimaced, “I’d still be with ‘em if the stupid festival hadn’t come up. ‘Oh, Yitzah -’” she said, her voice mocking, “‘It’s your tribe’s festival, it’ll be fun! You should go, Yitzah!” she made a face, “Idiots.” she grumbled, “Anyway, you okay with going to Oba? I gotta take him back and have a long talk with those two idiots.”

Anya post 2:

Oba? That was where they were going wasn't it.... And they run about feral there? She felt a small trickle of fear. Something this size ran about in the lands of Oa, and were trained for war.... that's a deadly land I'm going to! She thought but pushed the fear away. It was better than here!
Instead she focused on the last part of Yitzah's words.

"It was supposed to be fun... Its my first time on the island actually. My parents didn't bring me till now simply because I'm a triplet and all 3 of us were way too young to safely get to Chibale. I wished we'd stayed away." She ended in a whisper. Seeing Aisha wasn't worth what had happened.

Yitzah was quiet for a moment. ”Yeah, It's been a while for me going there, too...” she said, sullenly, ”Not going back, though.” she said, deciding right then and there. Whether it was a permanent decision had yet to be seen, but so far she wasn't seeing why she should go back... there. ”Sorry it stunk, though. Mom... Mom liked Chibale.” Yitzah forced herself to talk about her mom, the woman who had been granted four children by their mother, and had been killed long ago and far away. Killed. Yitzah knew she was dead.

Just like the conversation. Yitzah rode in silence for a few moments. ”So...” she said, as they crushed their way through the jungle, ”Theres this town... uh, Neued. You know it?” It was hard not to know it, with all the battles and stuff. ”We'll pick up supplies there... is that fine with you?”

Anya patted the other girl's back. It sounded like Yitzah was really sad about something... The silence that followed she didn't know how to fill. It was sort of awkward but she didn't want to intrude into the other girls thoughts. She was grateful with Yitzah spoke up again; "Neued? Yeah I know of it. Haven't been there since its further south from my home but its where you can get all sorts of supplies...apparently its like a trading place for all the earthlings that's a.. neutral zone of sorts now after the wars." Obans, Shifters, Maotrians, and leaf tribes men all gathered there in decent numbers. She had always wanted to go there but never had the time nor will to venture out on her own.. guess she'd get to see it now though!

Yitzah was glad the other girl didn't press – that was all she really felt like saying about her mom. She wasn't ready to talk more about her mother and sisters. ”Yeah.” Yitzah said, ”They'll have stuff we need. We can get pretty far from there.” Away from everything.

~~~
Yitzah wasn't much of a talker, though she did her part. Janarim travelled fast, and this one was motivated by impressing the two Alkidikes on it's back, and so they reached Neued in very good time. Yitzah had learned how to find places to stay from her time with the Oban brothers, and was able to spot a rest house amidst the hodgepodge of Neued – its status as neutral ground had turned it from a Shifter village into something that had begun to meld cultures together.
”Oi.” Yitzah said, ignoring the stares of the suspicious earthlings as she walked confidently up to the innkeeper and brandished some coin, another thing picked up from the brothers. ”My friend, my Janarim, and I need a place to stay.” she said, as if there was no doubt that they would be allowed to stay.
Anya was a bit more nervous than Yitzah about entering the inn... but she followed since it would be silly to stand outside afraid! She winced a little at Yitzah's words. "We should be a bit more polite." She whispered to Yitzah as she watched some eyes narrow. "Maybe they don't like alkidikes since the.. fight in Suati?" Confidence could be mistaken for arrogance.. and arrogant alkidikes surely would make them think of the extremists? Right?
She gave the innkeeper a nervous smile. She had only some items; mostly her diary and some writing tools and a scroll or two in her bag. Nothing to trade... she would have to rely upon Yitzah for this... I'll have to pay her back once I get something worth it!
More polite? What was Anya talking about? Yitzah felt she was being plenty polite.
The innkeeper looked the two alkidike up and down. They were a brawny Leaf tribesman, with silver eyes that hinted at a little bit of Shifter in their ancestry. Other eyes looked them over, too, and a few of the people around them stood up, hands moving to their weapons. As they could be a threat.
Yitzah was oblivious. "Hey." she glowered at the innkeeper, frowing, "What about it? A place for Me, my friend, and my Janarim. Yes? No?" This was polite for Yitzah - no thrown things, no shouting, just what she felt were reasonable demands.
The innkeeper stared her down. "Hmm." they said finally, gesturing something calming to the others. He could handle two entitled alkidike teenage brats. "No room." he said, finally smiling. It was a tight, unpleasant smile. Not welcoming at all.
"Is too!" Yitzah protested, "Theres plenty of space in the barn over there," she gestured in a vague direction, "And you've got lots of those key things. So there's room."
"No room." said the inkeeper, shrugging vaguely.
"But I just said. You do have room." Yitzah was not understanding. This was not a simple mistake on the earthling's part. "So how much for it?"
"No room for you. Or your friend." clarified the inkeeper, to snickers and cold laughter, "Get out."
Yitzah looked around her owlishly, stunned and confused. It made no sense - they had room, she had money, why would they turn her away? Whether they liked Alkidikes or not, it made no sense. She clenched her fists and her jaw.
She was being polite...
Anya felt her stomach twist with nervousness as things didn't go over well.
"Hey Yitzah... they probably don't like Alkidikes... best we just move on and not ruffle feathers okay?" And that wasn't very polite, she wanted to say, but didn't since they didn't need any angry outbursts.
"Come on sister, don't let it get to you. There are bound to be other places with space... if not camping is fine." She said with a sigh as she eyed the people inside the inn. Besides; why would you want to stay in a place that was hostile to you? She hoped it wouldn't be this way everywhere! Camping was fine but she wanted a place to comfortably sleep and daily baths Aisha dammit! "We aren't welcome so lets not make a scene."
Yitzah stared at her friend. "Well, why not?!" she burst out, flushed to the base of her antennae's with frustration, "Why shouldn't they like us, we... we..." It suddenly occurred to Yitzah that they might not like Alkidikes for the same reason that she had just left Chibale - foolish. Attacking the wrong things.
Yitzah deflated, defeated. "Yeah." she said, unhappily, moving outside with Anya, "Yeah, all right." It probably would have been a terrible place to stay, anyway. She'd wanted to on principle, but she had to admit it, in the cold light of defeat, that she wouldn't have liked it.
But where? "Fine then." she said, a little dispirited, "You find a place." It was her turn, in Yitzah's mind. And besides, maybe Anya would have better luck...
Anya smiled sadly and shrugged as she saw Yitzah realize what she was trying to say.
"It sucks but our... sisters messed up our welcome in Oba. Or the war did. Or both." She said as they left. Anya breathed a sigh of relief; she hadn't really wanted to try sleeping in a place filled with such distrusting people. "Maybe a place thats more rundown? I bet they wouldn't mind as much if we can pay..." She muttered out loud after her friend tossed the job of finding a place into her lap.
"It'll be dirty though..." She wrinkled her nose and sighed. She'd have to deal with it. Or clean it. She had some supplies after all! And if the bed was truly dirty she'd just sweep the floor, mop it, then use her bedroll.
With that thought she began wandering towards parts that looked more rundown, hoping to find other races than Oban as well. If there were other tribes about, there'd be a higher chance of them being treated tolerably instead of the hostility. Right?
It was frustrating... Infuriating... to think that idiots doing foolish things could affect how they would be treated. It wasn't fair. But that was also, apparently, the way of the world. Yitzah didn't have to like it.
"... That's fine." Yitzah muttered, gazing sullenly around them. "We're not looking for the soft frilly things. I guess." So long as she, the janarim, and her friend had a place to sleep and something to eat, that would probably be enough. Probably.
A large building caught her eye - big enough for the Janarim. "What about over there?" she asked. Maybe it was big enough for them? Or maybe it was near something for them. What did she know?
"If we don't find anyplace... we could just camp in the jungle." she commented, "It'd be fine."
