Danny and Rikki were definitely here in the village the whole time. They were also on their way to the volcano because Danny had had a very good time there and what do you mean Rikki wasn't fire resistant???
But then they had to stop, because Danny had to stop dead in her tracks. She grabbed Rikki's arm and pulled him towards the reaper she'd just spotted. "Rikki. Look."
Candle dog was very important.

Rikki followed Danny because he was a good damn fiance and would let Danny have her fun. Even if he was going to die from heat stroke, he was going to make damn sure she was happy while he did it.
That said, he was very glad when they stopped.

Danny reached down to pick up the dog and smooshed it into her face immediately.
She came out with a face covered in candle wax, not looking bothered by the hot temperature at all, because she wasn't. "I love him. I want one."
She held up a bag of silver seeds, clearly not understanding the situation.

Rikki wanted to touch, very much so, but he was no impervious to heat like Danny. As previously established.
He looked mildly horrified by her bluntness and reached out to push her seeds away. "Danny, I don't think we can do that." He turned to give the stranger an apologetic look. "I'm sorry. She's rude. It's a thing."

Danny made grabby hands at the dog she'd just lost. Her one true love, just gone like that.
"Danny," she said, pointing to herself, and then pointing to Rikki she said, "This is Rikki." But she didn't really sound all that interested in introductions, considering her eyes were still solidly glued to the dog.

Rikki gave a little wave and made heart eyes at the puppy as well. "You're lucky. I wish I had a familiar, sometimes."
In an attempt to make it seem like they weren't just using the boy for his familiar (hint: they were), he actually looked up and away from the dog. "Are you a student?"

Danny maybe inched closer, maybe just because he was holding Vivi back.
"Dunno!" she chirped happily. "We got on a bus to go somewhere and then the snake brought us here." She stared at him with big owlish eyes before going back to the dog. "Can I hold him? Please? Pleeeaseee?"

Rikki scratched at the back of his head. "Yeah, the snake was a bit weird. We've pretty much just been wandering around til we can get home again. You're welcome to hang with us if you're doing the same."
Mostly he just wanted the puppy to stay around. He wanted to know everything about the puppy. What were it's dreams? It's aspirations? It's favorite foods?
The kid was alright too, though. Probably.

Tito looked around at the area, saw the volcano, and looked back at them. " Well, We were just up here trying to practice some fire magic. We could probably call it quits for today and hang out with you guys." Tito sat Vivi down so he could walk. Tito kept an eye on Danny. What was she Thinking? Why does she want Vivi so bad?

Danny rubbed her nose putting on airs like she was important. "I dunno if you're cool enough to hang out with us." Then she smiled and the facade was dropped. "Nah just messin'. We were gonna go to the volcano. You wanna come with? And let me carry your dog?"
No she was not going to stop asking.
Yes she was going to be obnoxious about it.
No there was nothing you could do to stop it.

"You should probably just let her carry your dog." Rikki looked very serious. There was no stopping it until she was holding the dog.
"Maybe the volcano will be like... inspiration for your magic or something. I... don't really know how elementals work." If it wasn't shadows and beating things up, Rikki was useless.

Tito looked at Danny. " Alright, you can hold him, friend-o." Tito looked at the volcano, "well, I don't think it'll be much for inspiration, but I'm sure it'd be a good place to practice and maybe use the magma or somethin' from it!." Tito Started looking excited. Tito looked at Danny and Rikki and asked "So what do you guys plan to do up at the volcano??"
