Time for another task for the villagers. They were just so needy. Could they just not do anything on their own? Or perhaps they were just super lazy. If that were the case then Meixiang was just enabling their laziness and that just wouldn't do. Maybe they just needed a little encouragement. Or a class to teach them how to motivate themselves. Yea, that sounded like something they needed for sure.

But for now she would try and accomplish the task in which the villager asked of her. This time they wanted an herb. But not just any old herb. Something called mistentoe. The ghoul had never heard of this herb before but apparently this villager just had to have it. The look in their eye seemed almost an obsessive need. She wondered just what kind of herb this way.

It made the villager act pretty strange to be honest.

Without much but a description of the herb, Meixiang set off into the canyon where the villager had told her it would be. The canyon was vast and it's walls were high. Caves littered the rock face. There were probably some creatures living in those caves. Or maybe even other villagers. She wouldn't put it past them to live in the caves as well. There were many species at the school who were originally cave dwellers. Though living in a cave was not something Meixiang figured she would enjoy. She could probably make it work if she had to but ehhhhh nope.

It seemed like she had wandered the canyon for hours on end. It was a never ending thing that just went on and on and on with no real end in sight. Just how big was this canyon really? Or maybe she had just been wandering around in circles all this time. That rock over there sure did look familiar. Had she seen it before?

Just when she was about to give up Mei came across a small little grove tucked away in a little inlet. The entryway was blocked off by a thicket of plants. One would have missed it if they weren't looking for it. But she hadn't been looking for it. Not really. Truthfully she had stumbled upon it. When the ghoul had stopped to take a break she could see some green poking out from the rocks. And here she found the little hide away. Inside there seemed to be all kinds of plants growing and a little waterfall off to one side. It was a really nice place. One where you could just sit down and relax for a while.

But she didn't have time for that.

She spent a few good minutes examining each and every plant she came across until she found one that looked like what the villager had described. There was really only one way to be actually sure and that was to taste it. But Meixiang was a bit wary to trying it. She did not really want to end up all paranoid and twitchy like the villager who asked her to find it. Still, if she took the wrong plant back then her efforts would be for naught.

Plucking one singular leaf from the plant she tasted it. Grimacing lightly, waiting for maybe some kind of hallucination to begin. But as she looked around there wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Or what you could call out of the ordinary in this strange town. That was good at least.

Gathering as much of the plant as she could Meixiang began to make her way back out of the little hide away and towards the entrance she had used to get into the canyon in the first place. Luckily for her it didn't take all that long to get out. How silly it had been that she had wandered so far and yet right here where she began was what she was looking for.

Meixiang left the gathered plants with the villager who had requested them. They thanked her quickly before scurrying away with their bundle of mistentoe.
