A villager has left a tip about some form of virus happening to the local minipet wildlife. It is up to you to check it out!

Your character must catch one of the local minipets wandering around. Roll 1d10 and see what phrase you get from the list. Then use the minisglossary to pick a pet with that phrase in it (do not pick SE pets or RE ones!)

Once they have caught one, they need to carefully examine it to make sure it has no signs of the virus (the symptoms are possibly purple, evil looking, very vicious) then they can let it go. If however, it is purple or shows possible signs of the virus, they should hand it in to the villager. Roll 1d4 to see what the villager gives you for your time.

1. You get nothing. They take the pet and go away.
2. You get a halfhearted thumbs up.
3. The pet bites you as you near away from it! Ouch! Add +2 to your miasma meter.
4. The villager looks at you. He says "they key to the door is 8888." He leaves.

A black widow treat flew from the bush with a squeak as the tail swiped under and smacked against the trunk of the bush. Spinar growled in delight and gave chase to the tiny minipet. Racing as the thing went bounding back into the village. The fog didn't help much considering the colors of the thing but there was already a trail in the minipets wake. Fruit baskets were being turned over in an angry fit as the thing tore through the town. Aggressively much more so than Spinar had ever seen a minipet do. It was in that moment that he wished Rosy were there with him. To help wrangle the damned thing. To help him.

The thing was pinned now, backed into a corner and hissing at him. Maybe it was scared, maybe it was infected? Maybe. But Spinar wouldn't know for sure until he caught it. It took a dive but he managed to land right on the hissing thing. Capturing it with a big grin and slowly standing up with it. Once it was secure he moved back out into the open, trying to find some light to inspect it with. It took awhile to find a source that was good enough. He checked for signs it wasn't purple but man was it vicious! The thing tried to bite him a time or two just while he was inspecting it. That alone and plus the fact that he really hated minipets as it was, was enough for Spinar to be holding the treat by the scruff at the back of its neck and marching it over to the villager that had spoken to him. Holding it out at an arms length he gave the growling thing a good shake before turning it over to the cloaked figure, "here, I'm pretty sure it is rabid or something." HE smirked and then rolled his shoulders out as the pet was taken from his hand.

Then promptly wanted to kick the thing to the pumpkin sun as it snuggled into the villagers arms and started to purr. Purr. Actually jacking purr like a baby at the villager. The likes of which probably looking at Spinar like he was crazy under that cloak. Without another word a thumbs up was given to him before the villager promptly turned without another word and walked away.

Spinar blinked.

"Well..." What now ?
