Quote: A villager has left a tip about some form of virus happening to the local minipet wildlife. It is up to you to check it out! Your character must catch one of the local minipets wandering around. Roll 1d10 and see what phrase you get from the list. Then use the minisglossary to pick a pet with that phrase in it (do not pick SE pets or RE ones!) 1. Tropical 2. Sweet 3. Black 4. White 5. Spooky 6. Cheese 7. Onion 8. War 9. Wish 10. Eyeball Once they have caught one, they need to carefully examine it to make sure it has no signs of the virus (the symptoms are possibly purple, evil looking, very vicious) then they can let it go. If however, it is purple or shows possible signs of the virus, they should hand it in to the villager. Roll 1d4 to see what the villager gives you for your time. 1. You get nothing. They take the pet and go away. 2. You get a halfhearted thumbs up. 3. The pet bites you as you near away from it! Ouch! Add +2 to your miasma meter. 4. The villager looks at you. He says "they key to the door is 8888." He leaves.

To hear that the local wildlife was plagued by some sort of virus broke Meixiang's heart. If her own minis had ever gotten sick should would just be beside herself with grief. Though she could only imagine that the villagers didn't quite care too much about the minis wandering around. Potentially diseased and spreading it to others.
It was up to her to catch one. Give it a quick check over to make sure there was nothing suspicious and then hand it over to a villager. Of course what they intended to do with the mini after she was done checking on it was beyond her. Hopefully they did not intend to eat it.
Then she would really feel bad.
She spent a little bit of time searching. And it didn't take long for her to come across a Blossilia Spooky. It didn't seem sick or even all that agitated by her presence even. Slowly she approached it, getting down onto her knees. Meixiang pulled out a treat from the little bag of treats that she normally kept on hand for her own mini hoard. Holding the treat out for the Blossilia with an open palm.
And it worked! The Blossilia came close enough that it even allowed Mei to pet it. It made a slight purring noise. Carefully she lifted the mini into her arms, cradling it in the folds of her sleeves as she gave it a quick look over. Nope. Nothing evil or diseased looking on this cutie. Maybe the villagers were just a little paranoid. It was an obvious answer to this puzzle. Must have been the fog.

She grinned while still cradling the Blossilia in her arms. It was so cute. Meixiang wished she could take it home. But she was unsure if there was even enough room in her dorm for another mini. She needed to graduate sometime soon so that she could get an apartment with more space. Or maybe even a house. Oh yes, a house with a nice big backyard so all her minis could run amok would be amazing.
The trip back to the village from the wilderness surrounding it took quite a while. She hadn't realized she had gone so far out and it kind of startled her a bit at the length of time she had been out here. For a moment she had thought she was lost in the fog before dark shapes of buildings began to emerge from it. Meixiang let out a relieved little sigh.
Moving through the outskirts of the village she went in search of the villager who had given her the tip about the virus infected minis. It took a while, since they all were wearing the exact same looking cloaks. But she did find them. "So there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with this Blossilia." She explained. "I think maybe you guys are just a little paranoid is all. Or perhaps you just ran into one who was grumpy."
The Jiang Shi was a little reluctant to hand the mini over. There was something strange about the look in the villagers eyes. She hoped it would be ok. The Blossilia whimpered as it left the safety of her arms and was snatched up by the cloaked villager. "Take good care of it please."
The villager said nothing as they scurried away. Not even giving her a reward for all her efforts. Well that was kind of a bust. She had hoped for at least something for all the trouble. Not that it really was any trouble for her. It just seemed like she did quite a good favor for the villagers and she had nothing to show for it in the end.
