Your character(s) must interview two villagers. Villagers are all cloaked for some reason. Villagers may get disinterested when you ask too many questions, your goal is to acquire as much IC information as possible. Maybe they hold the key in your leaving.

Roll 1d10 and match your dice roll to the result below. That is the response they give you to your question. Your character can ask any question they formulate with the response always being the result below. If you roll the same number, you get the same response.

1. The villager glowers at you but does not reply to your question
2. The villager seems busy chopping firewood and is fastidiously ignoring you
3. The villager turns to look at you. They wave... at someone past you.
4. The villager is fishing. They reel in an invisible fish.. or is it just nothing.
5. The villager responds with a hearty grunt.
6. The villager looks you straight in the eye. "No."
7. The villager seems glum beyond their cloak. They mutter a few words involving the terms 'despair' and 'death'.
8. The villager is too busy looking at their toes.
9. The villager is cooking roast ghost fish, it smells delicious. They take out a skewer, offer you it, and then eat it before you can accept.
10. The villager seems passed out. Maybe you should leave them alone...

As she made her way further into the village a myriad of questions began to pop into her head. Why was this village here? What was with all this fog? Did the people really enjoy living in such a glum place? Meixiang would never have been able to live a long, happy life here. But maybe there was just something she wasn't getting. There had to be some weird reason.

Or maybe not so weird.

So it was then and there she decided that maybe asking some questions of the strangely cloaked villagers would do her a well of good. At least she thought so. They might not even give her any answers.

Could not hurt to try.

Approaching one of the villagers who seemed to be hard at work chopping firewood, the ghoul cleared her throat. They did not stop. Did not even look up from what they were doing. She cleared her voice again. Still nothing. She moved around to where she would be more visible. "Excuse me? Can you tell me why it is so foggy around here? It doesn't seem to healthy to breath in all this moisture." The last bit was just a random thought she had had.

Still there was no answer. The villagers continued to chop wood and Meixiang sighed. Crossing her arms over her chest as she tapped her foot lightly. Still they did not stop. Well that was pointless. She figured they would not answer her. Mei was a stranger in the village. And with how mysterious and secretive they seemed she was probably the least likely person they would trust to just hand out answers to.

She moved on. Maybe there was a villager who was a bit more friendlier and more forthcoming with answers than this one.

Moving on, Meixiang began to wander. Peering at the cloaked villagers as she passed them by. Most didn't look at her and others simply brushed past in what seemed to be quite a hurry. She wondered if they had a thing against Undead? It was a common thing she knew about. The Undead were thought to be dumb and very slow. Meixiang was neither of these things but it was a stigma that crossed many town lines and even species lines.

To be honest she had no idea what the whole thing against Undead was. Of course, in her time at the school she had not come across it all that often. Most of the students were generally over that kind of thing and were way more accepting. And those who were not tended to keep a bit of distance which was fine by her. Not everyone could be friends.

She approached what seemed to be a large well. One of the villagers was sitting on it's rim a fishing rod in hand. Were there really fish down there? It seemed unlikely to be honest. Wells were just big water tanks. There was no in or out for them so if they died it would probably make a mess of the water. Well, if they even used it for water. The ghoul leaned over the edge, peering down into the murky darkness below. "Are there really fish in there?" She asked the villager.

They gasped, tugging hard on the rod and winding the string back up. Had they caught something? Well that would certainly answer her question. But when the hook was finally brought back up there was nothing on it. The villager seemed all a wonder though and even got up to do a little jig before they scurried away.

"......" Yea, asking these creeple questions was not producing anything worth while. So she merely moved on. There were other things to do in the village she was sure.
