Corwin was feeling happier than he'd felt in...well, in longer than he could remember. The dark cloud that had dogged him and his sister throughout their lives was still present, but it was smaller and more faint than it had been in ages. The violence and tragedy had given way to isolation and paranoia; Corwin's hopes for a new life and a new outlook had been compromised by his sister's deep suspicion of everyone and everything around them. But something seemed to have shifted in Coralia's outlook as of late; her cautious optimism about letting others into her life was just what Corwin had hoped for.
Sure, she still wasn't about to consider joining a herd, or any real separation between the two of them, but Coralia WAS proving more amenable to Corwin going off on his own, without her. It wouldn't be for too long, of course; he wasn't willing to torture Cora with isolation, not when separation of any kind was still so new to her. But he figured he'd be able to spend at least half a day out doing whatever before he needed to head back to their meeting place; freedom felt so good!
That said, he knew exactly what he wanted to do first; check out that gorgeous flower meadow he'd last seen a few weeks prior. As a flutter, he had a special passion for flowers; in his small size, he would drink their nectar, and in his large size, he would just drift among them and enjoy their scent. Either way, he won!
Smiling, he made his way in the direction of the flower field, debating whether he was hungry enough to spend the energy to shrink. However, no sooner had the meadow come into sight than the decision was made for him; there was someone else there! The chance to socialize with another Soquili was pure pleasure, so any thought of food was lost as Corwin called out a greeting to the pink mare. "Good day to you, Miss!"
