Quote:
- It seems as if the villagers now want you to collect some more eggs. Those eggs are really delicious you know, and surprisingly enough, get you into the good graces of the villagers quite fast.

- Your character is dropped off at the base of an even taller mountain The goal is to climb the mountain and get the egg. RP climbing it appropriately

- As you near the egg, whatever is following you will try to eat it. Roll 1d6 to see what it is.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If by any chance a sand whale is the culprit, it automatically eats the egg and you have to try again. Otherwise, rp gathering the egg.

- Now you must carry the egg down the cliffside of the mountain. Roll 1d6 again and see what is trying to push you off the cliff aggressively.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If the result is a sand lobster, you drop the egg, and have to try again.

- You finally pass the cliffs into the forest region of the mountain. Roll 1d5 to see what tries to block your way.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If the result is a 100 foot giant snake, it squishes you and you have to try again.

Finally, you make you way past all of that and you get to the base camp. Oh wait, something is waiting for you at base camp! Roll 1d6 again:

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If a baby wyvern shows up, very mean adult wyverns land, reprimand you, and then extract the egg from you before flying away. You don't get an egg. Otherwise, success!

gaia_star If you successfully get an egg to safety, you get wyvern egg. It is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list

While Ignatius had not expected to find himself back here after successfully obtaining the wyvern egg last time, he was ready to go obtain it again.

It had been easy enough the first time for the egg-gathering expert (or journeyman, at least), and he didn't see why it wouldn't be again. He didn't think any further on it, instead walking up to the mountain, finding appropriate footing, and starting his way back up.

After the previous mountain that he had broken his egg on, this honestly seemed like a cakewalk. That made it more fun, at least, and Ignatius felt like he could do more daring things on the way up.

That all calmed once he reached the top, though to say ue was acting calm was probably an understatement. Relaxed but rushing, Ignatius sprinted over to the nest and plucked a new wyvern egg from the pile. A sand crab looked particularly angry with him and attempted to keep its grip on the egg it wanted to consume, but Ignatius plucked the crab off and tossed it back into the nest.

"Stay!" And he was off down the mountain once more.

Perhaps ordering the sand crab around like it was one of his own minipets was a silly idea considering it did not seem to be domesticated, but Ignatius had little concern for that.

Instead, he was concerned with getting himself back down the mountain with this egg, wanting to go back to trying to scale the largest mountain in the area (and maybe not get eaten this time, as well). So, he descended rapidly, paying little mind to what was around him except what was important and the sensation of something smashing into his back.

When he turned around to see a giant whale, Ignatius decided it was perhaps time to move even faster.

Not stopping to think on his strategy, Ignatius glanced around below for the nearest ledge and jumped for it, keeping the wyvern egg in his hands to stop himself from crushing it upon impact with the surface. He glanced back up and the sand whale, yelled a, "Ha!" and kept moving down the mountain.

Back into the forest region of the mountain, Ignatius couldn't help but hope that maybe he would be left alone in this stage. Honestly, he just wanted to go back to the bigger challenge.

Unfortunately for Ignatius, this was quickly turning into his bigger challenge. He thought he was safe, after a few seconds of looking, and started on, only to find himself tackled by a giant snake that ran him down, taking his new egg and splattering it across the forest.

After coming to and blinking at his empty hands for a moment or two, he sighed and turned around, heading back up to take another egg.

Ignatius was slowly becoming less and less amused by this.

As someone who thrived on new experiences, even in bad situations, continuously going up and down the same mountain with the same obstacles wasn't exactly his idea of having fun. Still, he was determined. He would get a new wyvern egg, jackdammit.

When he reached for the new egg, he was a little surprised to find a newly hatched wyvern from the nest trying to get at it and eat it itself. Had its parents not taught it anything? "Cannibalism is bad for you!" scolded Ignatius, as if the wyvern would understand him. It squawked a bit, so Ignatius just moved on, suddenly having a bad hand turkey flashback...

Coming back to the cliffs and ledges, Ignatius kept a sharp eye out for any sand lobsters or other things that might try to trip him up.

Instead of something trying to trip him, though, he was faced with the same sand whale that had tried to shove him down earlier, and this time, it looked even angrier. With an appropriate widening of his eyes, Ignatius quickly decided it was time to bail away towards the forest as quickly as possible.

Getting eaten was not on his agenda.

Why did so many sand minipets inhabit this mountain, anyway? Were they near a beach?

The sand crab almost seemed mundane at this point, and Ignatius subsequently stepped around it to head to the base camp.

Alright, base camp! He was free!

Apparently the sand crab who followed him wanted to be free too. That made sense. It didn't seem like a forest was any place for a sand crab. Forests were, after all, by function rather devoid of sand.

Instead of settling at the base camp, Ignatius took his egg and marched over to the larger mountain with it.
