A sand whale has been spotted nearing the village sand harbour!. These creatures are extremely unfriendly and have been known to swallow entire buildings. Ring the gong, fire bombs, throw ballistas, do what you can to stop the sand whale!

- The sand whale has 200/200 HP. When it hits 150 HP it will leave and swim away.

- At the start of the battle roll 1d6. This is the amount of ballista shots your character gets. Every time you use a ballista shot, you do a perfect 10 HP damage.

- The sand whale does an automatic -1 damage to you every time you attack the sand whale.

- If you run out of ballista shots, roll 1d6 again to gather more. However, each time you gather more the sand whale hits you for -5 damage!

gaia_star If you thwart the sand whale it drops a whale fin, it is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list.

Attempting the quest again, Sayael gritted her teeth and remembered the dragon, looking around carefully before grabbing four ballistas - as many as she could carry - and loading them in the cannon.

All at once.

Grabbing the cannon by the end and moving it to target the sand whale, she let out a breath as she forced her body to still, waiting for just the right moment to fire.... there. She pressed the trigger, and nothing happened.

Jack. Jacking jack. Why didn't it fire!? Hitting the thing with her hand and then her foot, she jumped back as it fired, hitting the sand whale in the fin and making it shriek out in pain before it went back to attacking the island.

It wasn't enough, but it was damn near close enough to scare it off. At least for a few moments.

Turning back to glance around, Sayael attempted to find more ballistas, trying to watch her back and valiantly search at the same time.

While she was looking for a ballista to grab, the sand whale decided to attack while she was distracted, shoving her to the ground and breaking one of her branches when it passed by.

Sayael fumed, turning and glancing at the broken branch, visibly shaking with anger. How dare it. How DARE it.

Looking to the side as she laid on the floor, the faerie spotted six more ballistas all together, and she grabbed all of them without realizing how heavy they were, loading them into the cannon and firing dead center at the sand whale.

The whale screamed. It was an inhuman sound that seemed to go on and on, making Sayael's bones rattle in her body. She remained steadfast, staring the thing down as she watched it dive back into the ocean and swim away, one of its fins detaching. It left it behind, not even bothering to come back for it.

Snarling and jerking forward in an aggressive gesture, Sayael smiled in victory as she reached down and plucked the fin out of the water, adding the item to her list of trophies for completing various quests here and there. The faerie stared down at them and counted, pursing her lips. One, two, three... four. She had four, and felt very proud of herself, but after listening to the villagers, she realized that there was a grand prize.

It sounded very tantalizing.

Stretching and scanning over the sea again, the sugar faerie made damn sure there were no more sand whales attacking, and was happy to report to the villager that all of them had been scared away.

The one she'd attacked had looked severely wounded, and she wondered if it would die in the wild, or attempt to attack again. Sayael severely doubted it would attack again, but being as the species was highly aggressive, she wasn't so sure she would put it past them.

Clamping her teeth together in thought, the sugar faerie moved away from the docks for someone else to defend, earning a bow from the villager who she'd helped. They kept a close eye on the shores, but why weren't the villagers the ones defending the shore?

Stopping and looking around, Sayael's face colored. There were so very few of them. Most of the population currently were students like herself, and the sugar faerie realized how much help they actually needed.

Dumbfounded, she gave a curtsy to the fellow villager and made her way back to the middle of the island, idly thinking about what errand to do next.

The week was nearly over, and she wanted to attempt as much as she could.... and solve the mystery that was nagging at the edge of her thoughts.
