You must INDIVIDUALLY ROLL seperate dice rolls as you goad the pet by dragging it along its reins. The dice you roll for it is the distance it travels. For example, if you roll a goat, you get to roll separate dice rolls of 1d8 until you cumulatively get 30 feet. If you roll a 1 at any point the pet will run away! The only way to get it back is if you have the basilisk eye item, that will lock it into place. gaia_star If you and your team successfully defeat it, you get paid a old saddle. It is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list

The light thumping of the peryton's hooves were all that she could hear. And it was not helping in the least bit.
The villagers had asked her to go out into the creepy fog to look for a giant minipet. And Aureole did had to honestly wonder how one can loose an over-sized turtle... She would have to ponder on that later.
Her eyes and ears needed to be wide, open and alert of any movements that might indicate a turtle. Or tracks. Thankfully the latter was the one she had managed to find. Her left hoof landed right by a large foot print that was oddly circular and deep. Bingo!
Aureole placed herself onto the side of the foot prints and followed them into the direction they were heading. She didn't have to worry too much about speed unless this turtle was a fast runner. That she highly doubt but would be entertaining to see.
After a long while of following the tracks through mud, creeks and thick foliage, she happened upon the herbivore as they were chomping away on a large cluster of leaves. It's head turned, one drooping dark eye in her direction before turning it back to take another chomp out the bush they had been working on.
"Find yah, big guy." Aureole planted her hands on her hips with a triumphant smile. Now... How to move it... She could pick it up and flying it back but with the amount of trees that were still being hidden in the fog, she didn't want to chance it. Nor did she want to drop him and he, some how, end up on top of her.
That'd be the end of the little peryton.

Sometimes even the peryton thought she was a little too smart at times.
Without having the ability to use her wings in fear of her crashing, she had figured out a solution!
A few flaps and she had managed to go up and grab a large armful of nicer, bigger leaves. The turtle had noticed this and started to abandon it's earlier meal area in favor of the leafy morsels Aureole was waving around in the air. Still not risking a flight in the woods, she landed and started making her way back the way she had come.

After the lovely tromp back through the mud (She was going to need to over her over coat a good wash when she got back to her dorm... or if she even could), her and her lovely slow-moving friend came to the small creek she had easily managed to just fly over.
She wouldn't be able to do it this time.
Aureole tested the water for depth as she let her 'friend' munch on the leaf she had been previously luring him with.
"That's it, big guy, just gonna bring you back and I'll even give you a big reward!"

The creek hadn't been too deep. The edges of her coat and dress would have said otherwise but her and the turtle had made it across without too much difficulty.
Now for the huge bushes she had had to duck under. While walking backwards to ensure her friend didn't wander off for something better, she used her wings as a make shift shield to keep the branches and such off of her back as she guided them back.

Aureole was sure glad she had gotten the number of large leaves when she had. Not only did the size make for him to be well... Big. His appetite was just as large! He had already consumed five of the leaves she had snagged!
"Buddy! Think you need to slow down! I mean, I know greens are good for yah but still! I only got so many!"

The peryton faintly hoped that her wings were doing alright. She wouldn't be too happy if she came out of this being a few feathers short.

'Just a little farther!'
She just had to keep thinking it as she started tearing the leaves down the middle to try and save as many as she could to keep the turtle's attention.

A few flickers down to the ground showed her that she was going to right direction. If the second set of hoof prints were telling her anything...
She did indeed hope that they were hers.

She was down to her last six leaves. With three in each of her hands, being held onto by the stems, she turned around as they exited the brush.

Finally! They had both made it!
The turtle chomped, in one bite, three of the leaves in her left hand. It startled her for a moment til she remembered her promise. Aureole offered the other three as the villager that had given her the task was making their way towards them.
"Here! Reward time!" The turtle looked up then down at the leaves before chomping on them as well.
Aureole nodded with a smile. "There! Brought him back, all safe and sound."
"Indeed. And speaking of rewards..." How had she managed to miss what the villager had been holding?
An old saddle was handed over to her. It wasn't entirely heavy but it was an... Odd reward.
"Ummm... thank you?" Well, it was something, she supposed.
Maybe she'd need it for something?
