- It seems as if the villagers now want you to collect some more eggs. Those eggs are really delicious you know, and surprisingly enough, get you into the good graces of the villagers quite fast.

- Your character is dropped off at the base of an even taller mountain The goal is to climb the mountain and get the egg. RP climbing it appropriately

- As you near the egg, whatever is following you will try to eat it. Roll 1d6 to see what it is.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If by any chance a sand whale is the culprit, it automatically eats the egg and you have to try again. Otherwise, rp gathering the egg.

- Now you must carry the egg down the cliffside of the mountain. Roll 1d6 again and see what is trying to push you off the cliff aggressively.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If the result is a sand lobster, you drop the egg, and have to try again.

- You finally pass the cliffs into the forest region of the mountain. Roll 1d5 to see what tries to block your way.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If the result is a 100 foot giant snake, it squishes you and you have to try again.

Finally, you make you way past all of that and you get to the base camp. Oh wait, something is waiting for you at base camp! Roll 1d6 again:

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If a baby wyvern shows up, very mean adult wyverns land, reprimand you, and then extract the egg from you before flying away. You don't get an egg. Otherwise, success!

gaia_star If you successfully get an egg to safety, you get wyvern egg. It is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list

Had he been asked, Brenley would have announced, clearly and definitively, that he was never climbing another mountain again, not at spearpoint, not if his friends were threatened with dissipation, nothing, no way, no how. But it seemed this sort of defiant behavior was deemed unacceptable as far as the village was concerned, which was likely why he had recently awoken at the mountain's top with no memory of having climbed anything at all.

"Very clever," he told no one. It seemed the powers that be were willing to resort to carting his unconscious body up steep inclines in order to get him to do what they wanted, though now that he thought about it like that, it was rather disturbing. Maybe he should just get going. The sooner he found more eggs for these people, the sooner they would leave him alone.

The nest he was to raid—the only one in the vicinity—was reminiscent of that first nest he had found with Ignatius, only quite a bit larger. There was also a weird little lobster curled in a ball, its tail clasped firmly in its claws, rolling around the nest's base. It didn't seem terribly interested in Brenley, thankfully, so he took an egg with little fuss, moving to the edge of the cliff without being disturbed.

"I don't suppose anyone is going to carry me down," he said. Upon receiving no answer, he sighed and began his descent.

Expecting his trip down to be plagued by the odd creatures he had encountered during his last egg gathering, Bren was surprised to see a chubby wyvern lingering around instead. It kind of made sense—he had stolen the animal's future sibling, after all—but the lack of disruptive velociraptors and snakes made the whole endeavor a lot easier. The little creature was actually kind of cute. He tried cooing at it all the way down, earning a couple of chirps and a near 180 curiosity-fueled degree neck spin, but it never got close enough for him to touch. When he reached the mountain's base, the wyvern skittered away. Bren waved goodbye.

Since he had been brought here rather than approaching the area himself, Brenley had no idea what sort of terrain surrounded the mountain, nor did he have any idea which way to go in order to get to safety. He started off in the most well lit direction only to find the way crowded with hundreds of trees, but when he turned back to go in the other direction, that way lay a densely packed forest as well. He decided to just keep moving, hoping that his destination would eventually be clear. Along the way, a rolling lobster like the one he had met before joined him on the road for a time before trundling off into the trees. At the very least the animals here were much more polite than they had been on that first mountain.

The boil chuckled in relief when he saw the camp. He had been going in the right direction! Either that or this place was some sort of reality-defying circle, which honestly, he could believe. Bren continued forward, removing the egg from his belt pouch so he could hand it over as soon as he reached civilization. He'd be better off without the weird silent threats of the animals he'd met along the way, and he wanted nothing to do with these eggs unless he absolutely had to interact with them. Steps before entering the clearing, a very large, very curious snake reared up in front of him, shocking a yelp from the reaper.

"Take it," he said, holding out the egg. "I don't want the damn thing anymore."

But the snake didn't want his egg, and neither did the villagers he found. Bren was stuck with egg number two after all.
