Quote:
The local dragonseer (that's a fancy word for someone who rides on a balloon and stares at the fog from above) wants your help in locating potential signs of danger and sand whales. You are to ride the balloon up and take a look.

You must first assemble the balloon. Pick any two items from the list below to make the basket of your balloon out of. Rp accordingly:

- Snake leather
- Thick rope
- Flaming carpet
- A basket of foxfires
- A white cloth
- Carved sand whale bone
- A net
- A table
- A door
- Five golden rings
- A pine tree
- A trash can
- A really really really really big bottle

- Next, to ascend, roll 1d100. This is the number of feet that your balloon launches to the sky. If you roll a 1.. you kind of suck. Maybe you're really bad with balloons. Maybe youre too heavy. Maybe your buddy should get off. Who knows.

If your character is lucky and manages to roll above 50 feet, they will get to see the town below them. You notice that the town is shaped like an S. You can also see clearly the town below you.

If your character rolls above 80 feet, you end up going too high into the highest miasma clouds. The thin air makes exposure to miasma easily and you gain +5 miasma.

As long as you roll over 50 feet you succeed in this venture.

The balloons were up ahead, and Saya quickened her pace to get there sooner, despite there being no one in line in front of her. When she arrived, she was sorely disappointed to find that she had to make them her own jacking self, and gave a disgruntled groan to the air.

It figured.

Walking up to the table display, she ran her fingers over the items in order, thinking over them seriously. The balloons were small and limited, so she figured that only two items were able to be used in tangent together. Her eyes fixed on a few items, and she tilted her head in contemplation.

Snake leather was a possibility, and the faerie ran her fingers over it as she picked it up, testing the durability and thickness of it before setting it down. Thick rope was also a strong possibility - but paired with the snake leather, would it hold?

The flaming carpet was a no go, and Sayael stepped away from it with care to her branches, not wanting them to catch on fire, thank you very much. Same issue went with the basket of foxfires. They were as cute as they were fluffy, but she didn’t want to take the chance when they had fire in their names. It did well to be overly cautious.

Her eyes slid over the white cloth, and she weighed that idea against the idea of the snake leather, mentally marking down that it was also a viable option. Carved sand whale bone was a no go… the net was a no go, since she didn’t want any of her limbs to slip through the open spots if she were to fashion something out of it…

The table and door just boggled her mind. Who in their right mind would make a balloon out of those? Those were for eating on. Really now.

Five golden rings were pretty, but not very punctual.

The pine tree was just too ridiculous.

A really, really, really, really big bottle. She couldn’t help but grin at the idea of throwing it at someone, but no, it wouldn’t help her in this endeavor.

A trash can. No, that was probably for scraps for leftovers from someone’s other balloon. Who would use that, anyway!?

Deciding to go with the snake leather and rope, she reasoned that they would hold better together and be comfortable to boot, weaving the rope around the leather and creating a makeshift basket to attach the balloon to.

Stepping back to admire her work, Sayael smiled sweetly and stepped into the basket, tweaking a few things here and there… and then she lifted off, into the air to get a better view of just what this island was all about.

The air was incredible up here, and Sayael found that she could breathe a lot better, despite the air being a tiny bit thinner. When she figured that she was high enough to look down, she carefully maneuvered herself to look over the side of the basket, giving a gasp of delight at seeing the small island below her.

It was shaped in the size of an S, and she could very clearly see students and villagers alike scrambling below her, completing errands and tasks that were asked.

Her black-filled eyes gathered in everything - the village below, the mountains, the students, the villagers - but she couldn’t piece any of it together, leaving her stuck on her same theory. Or rather, lack of theory.

Shaking her head, she moved to lower the balloon back to the ground with a gentle bump, using a bit of extra rope to tie it to the ground so it wouldn’t float away.

She might return... just to get a second look.
