Chi Sohma Skype Log  He was young, and absolutely curious about everything. He had explored the 6 known lands. The young, bright ulaya had all paws and had all his charisma to connect with ulayas from all around. Mutated. Some natural. Some imposed. This time, he was particularly interested in the mountains but he found himself in the volcano region. Walking the ashed ground with wonderment. A smile across his face with evidence of him with a shine to him. All paws down... Flicking his tail. An uudesa once told him that he saw the sun over the volcanoes. Like a bright light... that the light was beautiful and that was JUST what he was looking for. He was going for the mountains but the chance to see a rare phonenom!? He had to find out what it was. His memories, his encounters... were his treasure.
He came up to where the Uudesa heard. Mapping it out on his mind, he was good with maps and directions. He was sharp. Very sharp. Hunting skills bared no purpose, there were hardly any imprints except his own upon the ashes. But still he was not giving up. He was gunna find this light thing. Whatever it was.. it had to be a world wonder. That's what the uudesa said... and he needed it.

 Early morning found Xiang up to greet the sun, face turned to the sky and wings spread wide to gather all of the warm rays that he could. It made him feel more alive to start the day this way.
The previous night he had stayed up late watching the stars come out one by one until the moon was high, but still the morning light always roused him.
After a few hours basking he set about his day, stretching his wings with a quick flight around the mountain peak, sometimes he would go out and explore and some days he would stay on the mountain, stick to himself. Today felt like one of those days...
Of course he wasn't the only ulaya to live on his mountain but he still thought of it as his own all the same, young and possessive, Xiang was quick to say 'This is mine.' even when he could not rightly lay such a claim.
With that thought in mind he swooped in for a landing, perched in a tree and preening his feathers, making sure they were all in place, laying flat and perfect... one was missing.
Craning his neck around, Xiang spread his left wing and there at the base, an empty space ...this hadn't happened before, what could it mean? He twist the other way and spread the right wing. Everything appeared fine and all were in order. Well at least they all weren't falling out. The one missing was hardly noticeable... if he didn't look.
So long as the others all stayed in place, it was fine. Completely fine. Gently, using his teeth, he meant to set the others into place and another one pulled free.
"Oh, this is terrible!"

Chi Sohma Skype Log He would not stop til he found whatever that Uudesa had told him. There was always some truth within a lie. Walking around happily, nothing honestly got him down. After wandering some lands, he could see the goodness in everything..
It was beginning.. to be hot. The sun started to beat down on his black hide and he turned around to see it.. only to find a feather slowly wave by...
Ultimately. It dropped upon his nose, like a butterfly would. "Woah!" The feather shined brilliantly. Beautifully..
Then watching it float away in the graces of the wind.. "Wait~ Lil feather!"
Running after it, the young male toppeled over some rocks, tripping and cutting himself as he rolled down the rocky hill then finally he hit a rather large one that stopped him from falling off the mountain entirely.
His vision was slightly blurred... But yet another feather, from what his slitted eyes could see.. Something.. bright. "Hello~ Lil... feather.." Blood came out of the various scratchs and upon his head. But he bore a smile still. But his eyes instantly closed for how bright the being he tried to see. Feathers.

Xiang was so caught up in his feathers that he didn't notice another ulaya was around for more than a few moments. At first he was afraid that more grooming would lose him more feathers but after daring to lick a few more into place and finding that they didn't come loose as the other had, Xiang finished preening and settled his wings on his back.
Losing those two was a shame, but he had many more. Maybe they wouldn't last. Things were like that sometimes, life was like that. He was still fretting, the wonder of why it happened worrying the edges of his mind, but the sound of -- something, caught his attention.
Xiang moved from his perch, took to wing. Even missing a few feathers he could still fly and it didn't take more than a few moments searching to find the source of the sound. Someone had fallen, slipping on the side of the mountain. It could be dangerous up here, for those without wings.
"Are you alright?" Xiang called as he swooped down and landed. Charming, barely noticing that his loose feathers had blown by this way, golden eyes focused on the other as he smiled. This young male and his yellow eyes was in for a treat.
"Looks like that was quite a tumble you took, let me help you up." A paw was held out, offered without a thought. "I haven't seen you around before, what brings you to my mountain?"

Astounded by the sheer beauty, he had to shake his face off only to look at him once more. "Fine... I..I'm fine.." It hurt though. "I am... traveling..All the lands. From the seas.. across the world. That's what I want, to see it all.." A light smile and when he moved, it ailed and he hissed, turning to look at his hurt arm.
"....You too... Right?" Ears back as he pulled out a similar feather from his little side pack.. Where he collected things. But not only that. Memories. He collected them. The look on this ulaya's face... "I'm definitely not from around here..." Signaling to look back at his non existent wings. "Handicapped eh?"

Xiang hummed as the young male tried to reassure him, or else act tough as young males often did. That hiss when he moved was telling. He wouldn't push the stranger to move. It wasn't as if he planned to kick him off the mountain.
"Fine, hmm? All the same I think you should rest a moment. The world isn't going anywhere." Xiang sat back as the other ulaya inspected his wounds, they didn't seem too terrible but if his wrist was strained, walking around on it too soon was only going to cause him trouble in the long run.
The idea that someone without wings could travel the whole of the world wasn't something that Xiang had ever considered, he brushed it off as boasting. A chuckle escaped him though as that feather was pulled forth, he huffed. "You never had wings." That much was obvious from looking at him. "If you had and then lost them, then I might say that. No matter how many feathers you collect you won't be granted a pair of your own." Xiang subconsciously pulled his wings in tighter against his back, he'd already lost two feathers, he didn't want to lose any others.

"I am traveling the world and beyond, not to become, but to understand. I seek to solve the mysteries.." He was old enough to be on his own, young enough to climb mountains. Rest didn't sound too bad as he slowly began to sit himself better, with posture as he straightened his neck out. Waving his head to feel the smoothness of the cold mountain air.
"No.. I never had wings.. But one day. I wish to have some of my own. Maybe even get to see how it feels like to be free like that." He extended his arms out and looked to the sky. "Ah.. fiery one. You have no sense of imagination! Just because one doesn't have them by birth, does not mean they can no soar through the sky." Then he pulled back his hurt paw.
"These feathers are not to collect to grant wish- but to know and study, and explore- Fiery one- Maybe I can be granted wings of knowledge. Tell me- what do you seek of this world- what do you imagine most~"

Xiang quirked an eyebrow at the way this young male was addressing him. It was obvious from his disposition, the title held true but he still sniffed.
"Xiang," he said, "my name. Calling me fiery one, fiery one, who do you think you're addressing without even introducing yourself? Indeed, should I call you monochrome? Two-tone, perhaps?"
Not one to give false hopes, he shook his head. "Never, in all my years have I see one such as yourself soaring through the sky. It cannot be done. You would be wise to keep all four paws on solid ground. Imagination," he sniffed, again, pointedly looking at how the young male had been injured. "Mystery. I seek neither, my path here is my own. Where I came from or will go when it comes to an end is not for one like you to know."

"Those of the volcanoes have called me two-toned many times." He laughed and gave a bow to his head. "Tsukouru, the patched one, I wouldn't know why my mother named me so, It would be good to have understood, what is in our name." Giving a name.
"Xiang, It is a lovely name." Slowly getting up, his paw still hurting but he began to move a little, stretch then circle around.
"I am off to find the many great mysteries of the world. Would you know where the God of Good Fortune lies? I wonder if they are still alive, I heard many stories of Good Fortune being around here... or any God really. Where ever they are, they seem to lavish and make wonders of Jokoa in their wake- what do you say Xiang? Do you know a wonder close by, or even a God?"

"Perhaps she had foresight of her infant son bumbling about the four corners of the world and needing to be put back together when he was done." Xiang huffed under his breath, "That is beside the point, Tsukurou."
The compliment caused him to preen a little, letting his annoyance subside. "Yes, well. It suits me fine and is how I prefer to be addressed." Mortals couldn't help but to get injured sometimes, even if one were to stay in the den of their birth they might fall sick, they would surely starve. No one knew what would happen, even seers had their limits.
Xiang's deep orange eyes narrow as Tsu circles, his long ears flicking back to lay flat against his skull for a moment, but then relax. He raises an eyebrow, tilts his head and looks around at the bleak surroundings, wings stretching as if gesturing this way and that. Rocks and scrubby bushes abound.
"Do you honestly think a god would dwell around here?" Xiang scoffs softly and shakes his head. "Luck doesn't lay here, if they lay anywhere at all... What the gods do or do not do, it has nothing at all to do with me or my mountain. If you're looking for wonders, look elsewhere... and gods...?" Xiang's voice went soft and dark. "Maybe when you die."
