Another night, another pang of guilt as he slipped away from Tolliver's soundly sleeping form to power up and hit the town to patrol. It was a clear, but humid night, and Eurydike was actually pretty grateful that his fuku-thing was as - airy as it was. Most of the night had been annoyingly quiet - annoying because really, if he wasn't going to ******** find anything, he might as well have stayed home with his lover and slept for a few hours.

So when he felt the tug of a chaos signature close by, at last - no matter how strong or weak it was (did it really matter?), he didn't really think it through before he went ahead and pursued it. Whatever or whoever it was, at least tonight wouldn't be a royal ******** waste of his time.

Her head lifted to the ping of a power signature approaching, red eyes widening to display slitted pupils.

Feels weak... first level. Seshi. Easy prey. Cinnabar's fist relaxed its hold on a torn, dirty shirt and the body in her hold slipped from her grip to fall heavily to the ground. Older, middle-aged maybe, with a paunch over his blue jeans. He smelled horribly like booze that reached her even as she pushed herself up from her crouch, chains rattling as she tucked the starseed she'd secured into her pocket.

The dank yellow light glinted off horns and scales as she turned and melted back into the shadows cast by the looming buildings around the alley she inhabited, giving herself a bit of obscurity while she waited. Whomever it was wanted something, that much was obvious. The question became, then, what did they want? Would they talk? Attack? Something unexpected? She almost hoped it was the last... it would be amusing to see something new from these strangers that opposed the Negaverse. Maybe she'd play with them a little, if they proved interesting. Maybe.

The end would always be the same though.

The first thing Eurydike saw when he skidded to a stop was a body. He knew the man on the ground wasn't what he was after, but he couldn't help but stop and stare for a minute regardless, his eyes wide. It wasn't as though death was new to him - he'd seen plenty in all the time he'd spent with his mother at the hospital - this was a whole different environment though, and this was the first body he'd seen linked to this whole secret war he was part of.

"Well, s**t, " he murmured, turning and holy s**t, there was definitely something ******** lurking in the shadows over there wasn't there? "********, " he hissed to himself, taking a step closer to the shadows and trying to get a good look at - well -

"You ********' do this?" It was less a question than an accusation, eyes narrowed and fists curling at his side. Not so much because he felt for the man on the ground as it was really easy to imagine pretty much anyone there after a wrong turn on a bad night.

He couldn't really get a good look at whoever it was, though... he stepped closer again. "Who are you, huh?"

The senshi that came rushing was indeed a first level. Basic, or whatever you wanted to call it. It had never been particularly clear what a first level senshi was called. He look ridiculous though, as so many of them did. That dress was probably hell in the winter time, but she could help him out with that.

A smirk curled across her lips and Cinnabar settled her hands deep into her pockets as she rocked forward, sliding out of the shadows with an arrogant bounce to her step. It made her hips swing side to side, light and shadow sliding over her as she emerged from the darkness. Horns curling from her head, tail swaying behind her, even eyes dark where humans were white... she was obviously not a regular officer, above and beyond the third level power she gave off.

"That?" She hummed, her head tilting. "You mean that pathetic sack of flesh?"

Cinnabar tilted her head back the other way as she stepped to the side, starting a slow circle of the senshi. "Maybe. Why? Did you know him?"

Her heels clicked as she walked, each step rolling from one foot to the other. The general clicked her tongue in rebuke, her chin lifting.

"If you want to know someone's name, you should offer your own first. Its only polite."

Polite; one thing Eurydike was most assuredly not. The second she came stepping out into the light, he gaped, his dark brown eyes flashing rather unabashedly over her horns, clothes, and eyes, and really anywhere but her masterfully swaying hips - because that was honestly the least interesting thing about her.

Up close, she was more intimidating than she'd been in the shadows. It took him off-guard, and for a minute, he wondered if he should have come. Something felt wrong, overwhelming.

But ******** it. He was already here. No pussying out now. Logan Hitchcock didn't run from anyone.

"What the <********> are you supposed to be?" he spat instead, taking a step back and making a face. "Like - whoa - y’know Halloween’s not until October, right? Or what are you, like - ” He gestured widely at her, brows furrowed and nostrils flared. "Some kind freaky a** fetish b***h or somethin'? - oh whatever. Doesn't ********' matter. You're goin' to ********' pay for this s**t, y'mother ******** Hot Topic wannabe dominatrix b***h!" he spat at her, and lunged.

Her heels kept up their steady thunk against the concrete as Cinnabar paced, lazy and unconcerned with the way he was staring at her. It wasn't anything new, really. Everyone stared the first time, and well they should. Its not every day you met a monster and held a conversation with it.

"You really are rude, you know." She said in absent-minded rebuke. Her gaze wandered away from him, her face settling into an expression of boredom as she paced. What a puffed up little man... It was like a toy poodle barking at a doberman, and the mental image was amusing enough to pull a smile onto her face.

Her attention was not as absent as it appeared, though. When the senshi lunged for her, Cinnabar was ready and rather than face him, she simply disappeared. One moment she was there, and then a flicker and she was gone.

"Someone should teach you to respect your betters." She remarked in a pleasant tone from a few paces behind him. Her congenial stance hardened abruptly, her smile stretching wider into a baring of sharp fangs. His warning came in the form of a low, rattling noise, something that sounded more like it should have come from the throat of some huge feline than the woman that was making it.

Cinnabar darted forward then, her fingers curling to extend razor claws as she swung hard at his back. Just a little taste, to start things off, as she drug them across and up.

Rage flared up in him, white and hot, as she dared to look away from him - she'd regret it, letting her guard down, she'd -

- she was gone. He skidded to a stop in sandals that were poorly made for running, just in time to comprehend a voice from behind him. Just barely, Eurydike had managed to glance over his shoulder in enough time to see a flash of fangs would've totally gone along with the whole fetish thing - but the sound wasn't. The sound wasn't even remotely human, and even if Eurydike would have never admitted it, it was ******** terrifying.

Then before he could even turn himself around, she was baring down on him, and something ******** sharp pierced his flesh and tearing from one side of his ribs to the opposite shoulder. "********, " he spat, and that was the moment he realized he'd ******** up - no, he'd known already, just - oh, ********, he really ******** up. "Son of a ********' b***h, " he snarled as he fell forward hard onto his knees. But in spite of the white hot pain lacing across his back and growing more intense by the ******** second, he couldn't exactly just ******** sit here.

So he whirled, and maybe the look in his own eyes was a little feral and wild as he swung a fist at her. "YOU b***h - "

It was satisfying to watch him fall to his knees. It's where he belonged, really. Its where all of Order belonged, before they were brought into the fold and repurposed as useful members of the Negaverse. This one was just getting his own personal little lesson, that's all.

He swore up a blue streak as he spun back towards her, but someone on their knees was not a terribly impressive opponent... As he swung at her, Cinnabar swept her hand on that side inward, hitting his wrist as she went and deflecting his punch from its target of her body to empty air beside it. A simple move, one learned in the beginning of her Krav Maga training. With her other hand, she jabbed the heel of her hand into his face, intent on breaking his nose.

"Tut tut." She mocked him, clicking her tongue. "Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? Besides, my youma was more feline than canine. You need a new insult. What about Slut? Whore?"

Cinnabar teased him with insult names as she hauled back and kicked him in the stomach.

"Skank? Monster? Abomination? I mean, surely you can get a little more creative than 'b***h'. That's such a common term... and I'm not a common woman. Maybe you can think up some more in between telling me where I can find some of your friends. I mean, I'm going to have to tell your next-of-kin what happened to you. A name and address would be very helpful."

All the while, her voice remained light with a little touch of sarcastic humor.

In that moment, he realized something that should have dawned on him with the first blow; she was faster than him. A lot ******** faster. There was no time to react; his fist was brushed aside like it was nothing, and before he could do jack s**t, her other hand slammed into his face, hard. This time, his howl was ragged and choked, blood already streaming down his face as he pressed his hands to it out of reflex. The attack rocked him, again - put him out of his own head with the pain, left him reeling.

He only half-heard what she was saying, but he still glared - because at least he had that - at least he could ******** glare at her and ******** her ******** her ******** this piece of s**t ******** - there was nothing he could do to stop the blow to the stomach. He doubled over onto himself, coughing, his sides aching and <********> it made his back hurt, stretching the wounds at an angle they didn't ******** want to move in, and the back of his fuku was already stained an ugly crimson where it should have been white and pink, his red cape fluttering over the mess behind him. "********, " he choked out, his voice raspy and broken, and maybe trembling just a little.

Next of kin. He had none. Just one person, the one person in the ******** world that would give a s**t when - if he was gone tomorrow. The thought made him choke, the taste of his own blood thick in his mouth. Tolliver. Oh god, Tolliver. No, <********> no. He couldn't ******** do this to him. He couldn't ******** die here like this.

"S-sal, " his voice was broken and haggard; he was still trying, forcing his hands away from himself to push them together. If he could just get a ******** second. Just one ******** second, he'd think of something. He had to. <******** do it for him if you can't ******** do it for you! "Salt of... the... " He started to spread his arms in a circle around himself.

Sailor Scout Attack: Salt of the Earth.
Eurydike presses his hands together, then spreads them around himself in a circle, producing a ring of white. He then either lowers his hands, bringing the circle down onto himself, or lifts them, willing the circle onto a single other senshi. This protects a single senshi for thirty seconds from youma attack, and might extend hostile first level characters. However, anyone more powerful will have a much easier time breaking the circle; for instance, against a captain, it lasts about seven seconds. Against a general, even less than that. Limit once per battle as a senshi.

Attempted defense magic under cut, but there's ample chance for Cinnabar to stop it. heart Please do, go ahead.

Cinnabar smiled indulgently as he writhed in pain, the sight pleasing to her. Order was always so feisty... but ultimately weak on their own. She had barely touched him thus far and he was already smelling of fear and desperation.

Words finally came from the bleeding senshi, but it was not more epithets. Cin's eyes widened as she felt the first tingle of magic bloom with his call words and she burst into motion all at once.

Senshi magic was a b***h and a half, even at first level. The only defense was to break them before they could get it off, and for that, you needed speed... which is just so happened, Cinnabar had in spades. She burst through the ring he was calling up and her hand darted to catch his throat and wrap it in a vice-like grip. Her momentum carried them both forward and she took him off his knees, slamming him backwards into the ground to pin him by her grip on his neck.

"How naughty you are!" She cried out as she squeezed, cutting off the air he needed to speak his trigger words. "There will be none of that, Pretty Boy. I think you need to learn some respect, don't you? Things would have gone so much easier for you if you'd be polite..."

Grabbing a wrist, she pinned it to the ground, a quick shift replacing her hand on his throat with her knee. With just enough weight on his neck to hold him down, she reached for the hand she held, taking a finger... and casually breaking it with a sickening snapping sound.

"One for punishment." She said, her red eyes wide and bright, the pupil shrunk to excited cat-like slits. She gripped the next finger and snapped that too, her grin widening. "Two as a warning. Now. Are you going to behave?"

So close - he'd been so ******** close when that monster of a woman just burst through his one defense as though it were nothing. Eurydike had just enough time to comprehend what had happened, for his lips to part in muted horror, just as she caught his throat and sent him flying back into the pavement. The back of his head hit the ground with a dull 'thud', but it was nothing compared to the inferno of pain that swept through his back, those fresh slices slammed against the hard, unrelenting ground. Nothing could've stopped it; Eurydike threw back his head and bellowed, no words, just a raw howl of ******** agony. It was cut short when the woman tightened her grip, cutting off his air flow, and the panic in his eyes became more palpable. The senshi started choking and clawing, grabbing at her wrist with silky gloves that gave him no purchase, trying desperately to push her away and getting ******** nowhere in his frenzy.

Tolliver. That's all he could think as he saw spots at the edges of his vision, blood still flowing freely from his broken nose. Tolliver.

Things were shifting, and Eurydike was only vaguely aware of what was happening beyond the pressure of the hand being gone - replaced by a knee. Not much better. It was heavier, harder, and he was already weak. But at least he could still ******** breathe, more or less.

Then, when she took his finger and snapped it like a ******** twig, Eurydike realized she'd done it on purpose - the ******** sadistic b***h wanted him to scream - and ******** him, he did. He screamed and howled, and his struggles were feeble, but he didn't stop trying. The first was joined by a second, and he wished he was a better person, a stronger person, the kind of man his mother always tried to make him, because then would have been able to bite back the screams, and his eyes wouldn't have been shiny and moist at the edges. He would've had his pride.

But it wasn't too late for it.

He knew he was going to die here. No one was going to come. No one ******** knew him from a hole in the wall. The only person who'd ever extended a ******** hand to him all his life was Tolliver, and he wasn't here and Eurydike was glad. He couldn't fight. He couldn't run. He should have. He'd ******** up. And now - now -

The senshi squeezed his eyes shut and sucked in a shaking breath between his teeth.

Tolliver. Tolliver, baby. ********, I'm so sorry.

Eurydike's eyes snapped open - and he spat hard, sending a wad of bloody, phlegmy mess flying at the monster woman's face.

He'd felt the power signature surge about an hour into his patrol, and it was strong, sharp, Chaos. Celsus hadn't been able to track it at first; he'd been too far away, and he'd also been in the middle of trying to dismantle a particularly nasty youma from his arm, where it had latched on eagerly. But he'd managed to dissipated it rather quickly, and now he was dancing from rooftop to rooftop, eyes narrowed, trying to discern from which direction it had come.

He figured it out surprisingly easily - not because the power signature had grown stronger, but because of the yells.

They rose up from the ground somewhere below him - a deafening bellow, followed the kind of shrieking, grating screams that could only be pulled from the throat of someone in agonizing pain - or worse. Celsus' gaze flickered, the moonlight glancing off of his rimless glasses, and made a sharp turn left, the aura of the Chaos agent growing - and it was paired with another aura that he didn't quite pick up until he was almost there, quieter and much less powerful than the Chaotic one, but very definitely White Moon.

Which would only mean things were just as bad, if not worse, than Celsus had originally thought.

He found them in an alleyway just below him a second later, wedged between two darkened buildings, dank, yellowish light casting long shadows across the sidewalk. Celsus could see a flash of something red before he leapt nimbly down, scaling the ladder and the side of the building with the practiced ease of someone who'd done it many times before.

There was the sharp crack of a whip as he stepped forward, cape flitting about his ankles.

"Good evening," said Celsus mildly, and his tone was light, conversational, as though he was not speaking to a woman who looked distinctly as though she'd been morphed into something twisted and terrible. The softer power signature was clearly from the senshi, on his back on the ground, and it was still ebbing into Celsus' mind, which meant he was still alive.

It was, at the very least, a positive.

"Feel like playing with someone your own size?" he asked, brows raising, Celsus holding the whip aloft and giving it a little wave.

The spit didn't need to be accurate to hit it's target, not when they were so close. Cinnabar jerked her head back as she felt it, a grimace drawing her lips back from fangs too pointed to be human.

"I see someone hasn't learned their lesson." She growled as she grabbed him by the hair and shook him. The headband he wore was appropriated when she released him and jerked off his hair, doing service as a rag to wipe off the offending mess. Her voice was lighter when she dropped the cloth, reaching again for his hand. "Looks like he needs more instruction..."

The feel of an approaching aura snapped the General's head up before she could complete the motion and she stiffened, her eyes unfocused. It felt like a knight... and it was more sickeningly sweet than normal. One of the glowing ones, then. Interesting... Thick fingers wound into the senshi's hair, finding a good grip before the sound of a cracking whip reached pointed ears. In a smooth motion, she rocked back on her heels and hauled the struggling weight up, her heels grinding against the pavement as she spun them both to put the injured between her own body and the new threat.

"Ah, we have company. Looks like your punishment will have to wait, Pet..." She murmured into his ear as she wrapped her arm around his throat, settling him into the crook of her elbow. Thus secured, she tightened her grip to the painful point and cupped his jaw in her other hand, black claws sliding from her fingertips to p***k warnings against his skin.

"Good Evening, Pretty." Cinnabar cooed as she pressed her cheek coyly against Eurydike's hair, her red-black eyes wide and staring. "I'm afraid there is no one around who's my size to play with, so I suppose I shall have to settle for you two, hmm? Ah, and look who we have here..."

The half-youma chuckled as she pushed herself to her feet, dragging her prisoner along with her. "I know you, Glow bug... You were our guest, not so long ago. It was very rude of you to leave so abruptly. Schörl has been missing your company, you know. She'll be so glad to see you again."

He cringed as she grabbed him, as she shook him, but some part of him beneath the waves of pain was satisfied. At least he'd done something, and the something might have amounted to nothing, but it was better than that. Eurydike nearly smiled in spite of himself, but instead hissed softly as she violently grabbed his headband to clean herself off with, taking strands of his salt and pepper hair with her.

It didn't matter. Even as he saw her reach for his hand again, and he closed his eyes in response. Guilt churned deep within him, because this was all on him and no one else and he wouldn't suffer forever for it, no, but Tolliver would. Tolliver would - claws laced further into his hair and he just kept his eyes shut, bracing himself for whatever was coming.

Eurydike wasn't expecting to hear the crack of a whip, and his body jerked even if it wasn't meant for him. He didn't sense a damn thing; all he knew was he was being dragged up by those thick claws in his hair, and now, it hurt more than it had before; he tried to struggle in spite of it, but he was just so ******** weak and small and pathetic next to her and he ******** hated it.

A voice had called out, laced with an English accent. And through the growing haze of pain, for one glorious moment, he felt a completely irrational surge of hope (or dread) lance through him. Tolli? But when his eyes opened, he didn't recognize the person standing there, glowing and with a whip in his hand. Of course it wasn't him; his boyfriend wasn't the only person in the word with an accent for ******** sake, and he sure as ******** wouldn't be talking so calmly. He'd be tensed and teary-eyed and <******** Tolliver god I'm sorry.

But this man, then. What the hell -- ? Who? Who the ******** was this? -- why was he here? Was he seriously here to try and help?

Eurydike didn't really have time to process it. He thoroughly, thoroughly resented his new role as human meat shield, and it showed on his bloodied face in spite of his state. He desperately wanted to snap something back at the 'pet' because he wasn't her ******** pet, but that grip rendered him wordless, gasping and wincing with fresh pain, shifting and struggling in whatever ******** sad ways he could in spite of the claws pressing against his skin.

He hated that she touched him like that, cheek to hair, like he really was a goddamn little pet - and he couldn't do a goddamn thing about it. His eyes blazed with anger, but his gaze dropped, humiliated.

I don't need pity.

I don't want your ********, just let me get home to him. Please.

The senshi looked, for lack of a better description, more than a little worse for the wear. He probably would have done better to simply stay on the ground, but the position he was yanked in unceremoniously clearly put him between the two of them. It was terribly inconvenient, and he wondered whether or not the senshi would even survive, should he manage to get past her. He looked as though he was about to keel over at any second.

"How pleasant," said Celsus lightly, the coins on his cloak clinking gently as he took a casual step forward. "You're the second person to have called me pretty in as many weeks, I'm starting to think that there's something to it. Any more compliments, and it'll just get to my head, you know."

She was not entirely human, not at all. Red scales decorated a good portion of what he could see of her muscular body, a tail to match lashing out behind her, fingers ending in sharp black claws. Celsus had never seen anything like it, or at least, not in his memory, but he knew instinctively that it would be dangerous to try and mess with her - especially with her victim.

An eyebrow rose.

"Glow bug?" he repeated, and then laughed. "Well, that's a new one, though I can't say it isn't true. And yes, I remember being a - what did you call it? A guest in your little house party. You can tell your generals that I'm most apologetic, but the next party I'd like to go to involves a great deal of good whiskey and good company, sadly which..." He tilted his head a little, eyes sweeping over her appearance. "Well, I suppose you're not unappealing to the eye, but alas, if only you weren't trying to murder an innocent man."

He clicked his tongue as though this was the most disappointing thing in the world.

"How about you let him go?" Celsus asked, tone still mild. "I'm more than willing to be your opponent, although you're also free to leave, should you like, you know," The smile turned a little sharp around the edges. "wish to make this a fair fight, after all."
