Quote:
- It seems as if the villagers now want you to collect some more eggs. Those eggs are really delicious you know, and surprisingly enough, get you into the good graces of the villagers quite fast.

- Your character is dropped off at the base of an even taller mountain The goal is to climb the mountain and get the egg. RP climbing it appropriately

- As you near the egg, whatever is following you will try to eat it. Roll 1d6 to see what it is.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If by any chance a sand whale is the culprit, it automatically eats the egg and you have to try again. Otherwise, rp gathering the egg.

- Now you must carry the egg down the cliffside of the mountain. Roll 1d6 again and see what is trying to push you off the cliff aggressively.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If the result is a sand lobster, you drop the egg, and have to try again.

- You finally pass the cliffs into the forest region of the mountain. Roll 1d5 to see what tries to block your way.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If the result is a 100 foot giant snake, it squishes you and you have to try again.

Finally, you make you way past all of that and you get to the base camp. Oh wait, something is waiting for you at base camp! Roll 1d6 again:

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If a baby wyvern shows up, very mean adult wyverns land, reprimand you, and then extract the egg from you before flying away. You don't get an egg. Otherwise, success!

gaia_star If you successfully get an egg to safety, you get wyvern egg. It is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list

Returning to the mountain and rubbing his hands together, the faerie winced as he thought about gathering another egg and hoped that this one wouldn’t roll away to some unknown destination. He hadn’t gotten the chance to actually retrieve it, as the snake held him for so long that he lost feeling in most all of his limbs.

Shaking his arms out and stretching them above his head, Marosa gave himself enough time to get warmed up before he tackled the cliffside again, getting up with relative ease and finding the eggs easy enough again. This time there was no snakes, but instead a crab minipet that was clacking its pincers rather menacingly at the eggs.

Marosa stepped near it and startled the thing, sending it skittering away without another thought. He shrugged and picked up the egg to make his way back down the cliffside, meeting the same zombie deer minipet that he’d encountered earlier, trying its very best to headbutt him off the cliff.

Perhaps the faerie should have taken a different path this time, but it was a little too late for that now. He leaned away from the zombie deer and continued heading downwards, watching his distance from the ground until he was safe enough to drop with a soft thud, cradling the egg ever so carefully.

Wiping dust from his eyes, the gancanagh took a breath and adjusted the weight of the egg to the other side of his body, making sure to be wary of his surroundings and take in every detail and distraction he could.

It wouldn’t do well to fail at this point.

Trekking through the forest allowed him to be calm and collected, reminding him of so many times when he’d walk through the forest on a whim, enjoying the calm air and shade of the trees.

Marosa felt a pang of homesickness, but quenched it down instantly, scowling. Now was not the time to be homesick, and returning home had a slew of other problems he didn’t really want to tackle at that particular moment.

Shoving all thoughts out of his head, he approached the edge of the forest and found the same zombie minipet that was on the cliffside, tilting his head in wonder. How had it backtracked him here and beat his pace?

Turning to step to the side, the small deer moved to block his way, and repeated the action when Marosa turned left. Right, left, right, it didn’t matter what way he faced, the deer was blocking it.

It made a sound at him, stepping forward towards the egg. Or was it stepping forward towards him? He didn’t know, and he didn’t want to find out. Feigning left, he watched as the deer tried to block him again, and he juked right to leap over the thing and move into a dead run, the egg clutched close to his body so it wouldn’t be damaged as he sprinted.

Reaching the clearing in record time, he saw that there was a crab minipet faced away, and to his surprise something else caught its attention and it scuttled off without further delay.

Heaving a sigh and doubling over, he set the egg very gently on the ground and allowed a villager to collect it, feeling rather winded.

Marosa realized he’d have to take up Sharra’s offer of training in the gym. He was very much out of shape, and realized it when he’d attempted this quest again to gain food for the village.

He understood why they wanted him to bedrest, but it was impossible for him to just lay there and do nothing.

Rolling his shoulders back and straightening up, Marosa popped his neck and walked off to relax a bit before attemping another insane village errand. Perhaps he’d have much better luck at the next one.
