- It seems as if the villagers now want you to collect some more eggs. Those eggs are really delicious you know, and surprisingly enough, get you into the good graces of the villagers quite fast.

- Your character is dropped off at the base of an even taller mountain The goal is to climb the mountain and get the egg. RP climbing it appropriately

- As you near the egg, whatever is following you will try to eat it. Roll 1d6 to see what it is.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If by any chance a sand whale is the culprit, it automatically eats the egg and you have to try again. Otherwise, rp gathering the egg.

- Now you must carry the egg down the cliffside of the mountain. Roll 1d6 again and see what is trying to push you off the cliff aggressively.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If the result is a sand lobster, you drop the egg, and have to try again.

- You finally pass the cliffs into the forest region of the mountain. Roll 1d5 to see what tries to block your way.

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If the result is a 100 foot giant snake, it squishes you and you have to try again.

Finally, you make you way past all of that and you get to the base camp. Oh wait, something is waiting for you at base camp! Roll 1d6 again:

1. A sand crab minipet
2. A 100 foot giant snake
3. A baby wyvern
4. A zombie deer minipet
5. A sand whale (estimated 400 feet)
6. A rolling sand lobster minipet

If a baby wyvern shows up, very mean adult wyverns land, reprimand you, and then extract the egg from you before flying away. You don't get an egg. Otherwise, success!

gaia_smilies/icon_star.gif If you successfully get an egg to safety, you get wyvern egg. It is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list

The first request for eggs hadn't been too inconveniencing to the Famine horsemen, despite how much he had to over exert himself. Still, it wasn't too taxing and so didn't object to the second request for different eggs. Just as long as he got to keep them.

The new location had a steeper, larger climb but Waits simply began to traverse it just as he had done the last. Silent and slow.

The egg had been located some time later and as his hands went to reach for it, small crab minipets began to click their claws furiously at him. He simply passed them a look and collected the egg and began to head back down.

If it had only been the small little crabs, Waits wouldn't have thought the venture down was that bad.

But then he was pushed off the cliffside by those stupid lobsters.

[reusing thread 'cause I ain't goin' for raffle tickets, yo]

Shaking off the fall, Waits grumbled to himself. The egg had been destroyed and he had been hurled off a cliff. That was must annoying. But he got back up and tried it again.

Only for a giant whale to eat the next egg he retrieved.

[and again]

This was either a herd of sand whales that were now stalking him or the same one being an annoyance and eating all the eggs he was trying to claim.

Waits wanted to murder it and do terrible experiments on it.

[round 4]

Waits found himself skeptical and a little paranoid when he rounded upon the clutch of eggs again. His golden eyes scanned around as a bony hand reached out. He tentatively tapped at one to see if it would signal one of the sand whales once again. And waited, hand on the egg before it slowly began to push it towards him before it was in his arms.

A giant snake did appear, however, Waits paid it no mind as it was easy enough to escape from. A few little dodges to avoid it's tail, the terrain helped as it was downhill.

The huge thing seemed to be following him, despite his best efforts of listing lazily to the left. It had gotten to the point of Waits nearly sliding down the mountain, it was no longer running.. just cruising down on bony feet (at least he didn't have much more to lose).

He contemplated tucking and rolling to make for even more speed away from the serpent but a forest seemed to be up ahead, perhaps he could lose it in the trees.

The forest indeed seemed to help in his escape, covering his scent and allowed him to slip about with relative ease - he even got a chance to have a small break (2 hours) asleep in a bush before going underway again. (And took a few pine needles along the way).

Finding no immediate danger, the clansman slowed his pace and gingerly strolled through the thicket of large trees. His path, however, was soon blocked by a crab. An odd place for such a minipet. But easy to avoid. Waits simply stepped over it and continued on his way.

The last obstacle came in the form of one of those rolling lobsters, which were easy enough to avoid given how he had already witnessed their attack pattern. Waits helped up his egg, away from the sudden assault and when it seemed that the cost was clear he headed back to basecamp. Egg was in hand and the duty had been completed.
