The local dragonseer (that's a fancy word for someone who rides on a balloon and stares at the fog from above) wants your help in locating potential signs of danger and sand whales. You are to ride the balloon up and take a look.

You must first assemble the balloon. Pick any two items from the list below to make the basket of your balloon out of. Rp accordingly:

- Snake leather
- Thick rope
- Flaming carpet
- A basket of foxfires
- A white cloth
- Carved sand whale bone
- A net
- A table
- A door
- Five golden rings
- A pine tree
- A trash can
- A really really really really big bottle

- Next, to ascend, roll 1d100. This is the number of feet that your balloon launches to the sky. If you roll a 1.. you kind of suck. Maybe you're really bad with balloons. Maybe youre too heavy. Maybe your buddy should get off. Who knows.

If your character is lucky and manages to roll above 50 feet, they will get to see the town below them. You notice that the town is shaped like an S. You can also see clearly the town below you.

If your character rolls above 80 feet, you end up going too high into the highest miasma clouds. The thin air makes exposure to miasma easily and you gain +5 miasma.

As long as you roll over 50 feet you succeed in this venture.

Again with the balloon ride.

Falair figured enough time had passed that she would try and give this whole 'seeing the town from above thing' another try. What could she loose? Well, her life. And maybe her limps if they broke from a fall.

But that was honestly the least of her worries. For now though, she would use different materials to craft her balloon. She hadn't had much success the last time with what she used to the obvious course of action was to switch it up.

The mare grabbed a net and a flaming carpet. She had often heard tales of carpets that flew on their own. Perhaps this one too had that ability and it would get her air born more so than that white cloth she had used last time.

Carefully she tied the carpet corners to the net. This time she did not cut any holds in it. Falair figured the holes she had put in the cloth last time probably let too much air through and that was what kept her from achieving any real height.

It was a sound theory anyway.

She took a step back from her creation. Giving it a few pokes with the curled toe of her slipper before walking in a circle around it. Unsure as to its aerodynamic abilities. There was only one way to find out if it would work though. And that was to test it out. Hopefully she'd come out mostly unscathed, other wise Na'ima might break her arms and legs herself. And that thought did not set well with the mare at all.

This time Falair surmised that getting up higher would help her achieve a bit more lift. So she scrambled on top of a nearby building. Probably someone's home as the faint sound of an agitaited voice came from below, but she payed it no mind.

The wind picked up, filling the flaiming carpet with air and it litterally dragged the Famine Horsewoman off the roof and into the air. Ok ok, this was probably a bit too much all at once as she let out a little squeal.

But all her efforts were for naught as she went higher and higher and....maybe a bit too high. From here though she could get a good, hard look at the entirety of the village. Oddly enough it was set out in an 'S' like shape pattern. What that could have meant well, Falair just didn't know. Perhaps these villages just liked snakes. Or the letter 's'. It was hard to get a read on them anyhow. Who knew but them what they liked or preferred?

Although now it seemed she had built her little flying thing a bit too well as she continued to climb. Higher than she had anticipated the air soon grew thin and Falair coughed as miasma filled her lungs. She felt a bit light headed and was pretty much ready to come down now. Having had enough of this in the sky ride and clouds that made her cough up a lung.

It was strange though she had to admit. Normally smoke and the such didn't effect her in such a way. So this fog, this miasma, must have some weird effect on people that she could not understand at this present time.

As the wind began to finally die down Falair soon came gliding back to the ground. Happy to have her feet on solid earth once more she tossed aside her carpet net thing. Rubbing her chest lightly as she stared up at the miasma filled sky.

What was it...

Now, however, did not seem to be the time or the place for these answers. In fact, she was unsure anyone had any real answers. At least those who were among the villagers. They seemed just as confused as the rest of them in just what was going on. Like they were in a fog. That pun was intended.
