You must have a fishing rod base made of whale fin first to start. Anyone without a whale fin cannot actually fish, though they can cheer the others on.

Next, select a bait. Your goal is to catch as many fish as possible, as fish oil is valuable in village things, says the villager. He hands you a tin, and you randomly get a bait. Roll 1d6 to see what you get

1. You get nothing..
2. You get the ear of a minipet
4. You get a giant spider. Seriously, this thing is huge. Like six feet huge. How did it even fit in there?
5. You get a decent sized worm.
6. You get the tail of a minipet

Now, with the bait, roll 1d100 to see how well you do. Make sure to rp accordingly with using the bait/tackling it/ figuring how to make it work. As long as you fish 11 or higher, your quest is a success. Otherwise, try again!

1-10: You fish up nothing..
11- 30: You fish up an invisible sardine. Or wait, is it a real one? You can't tell.
31- 50: You fish up a decent sized bonefish. It is made of literal bones, how are they going to eat this?
51 - 80. You fish up a giant spider fish. It looks more spider than fish, and is about six feet tall.
81 - 100: You fish up a beautiful premium gourmet finfish. It's tail fetches a good price in the local village market and you are rewarded handsomely.

gaia_star If you and your team successfully defeat it, you get paid a rusted key. It is considered a quest item. Add it to your quest item list

Under the advice of some villagers, who rather insisted that Wrath use his sand whale fin to make a fishing rod, the large death horseman had managed to wheedle Na'ima into agreeing to go fishing with him.

And because fishing was sort of like hunting, Wrath was actually pretty stoked about it.

With an arm around her shoulders, he led her down to the fishing area, where a villager was giving away bait to use. "What do you think would work best?" He asked Na, rather then the villager who was probably much more experienced in the matter.

Na'ima, a horseman of Famine and therefor not hunting or gathering of food of any kind, had never been fishing before. It was strange to her that her whale fin had been made into a fishing rod, but she was beginning to question things a little less here. Mostly she was just content to be held against Wrath's side again, it was a nice place to be.

Her head was resting comfortably against him when he asked her what kind of bait she felt would be best. She blinked, tipping her head back to look up at him. How should she know? She didn't know how to fish. "Something alive, perhaps? So that it will move around in the water while it is drowning slowly and painfully until a fish comes along and eats it up?" Na'ima was just telling it like it is, really. She took one of the offered tins, opening it enough to see what was inside and then quickly slapping it closed again with wide eyes. "You are not serious." How.

"Get your bait, Rathsvith, I cannot let mine out until it is time to use it.."

Wrath gave a nod of his head. "Sound reasoning," He began, waiting until she gathered up a tin, leaning forward to try and catch a glimpse of it's contents before she slammed the lid shut on it once more. He thought he might have seen a few eyes staring back at him, but he wasn't really sure....

"How about this. For the sake of experimentation, you can use whatever it is you've got in that tin, and I will use absolutely nothing at all, and we will see who catches the most fish." He smiled, feeling like this was something she might actually appreciate, since it was scientific in nature, thus making the expedition more fun for her.

"Come, now. Let us go fishing!"

He slung an arm around her once more and began leading the way to the bank.

Na'ima laughed, giving her tin a little shake. "All right, but I warn you I have quite a lot of bait in here. I am not entirely sure how they fit it in, to be quite honest." Shaking her head, she let him pull her in against his side again quite happily. This was definitely something she was beginning to enjoy, a mare could get used to being treated like this. A gift of leather bracers because her lovely bones were being damaged, an arm around her shoulders to hold her against his side. She tilted her head against him, her free hand coming up to settle on his chest while they walked.

"You are very excited for this," she teased affectionately as they approached the water, turning her head to kiss his arm. "Adorable." A word she didn't use very often in a complimentary fashion. When finally they stopped she was reluctant to come out from under his arm, but if her bait was as large as she thought it was she was pretty sure she was going to need help.

The tin can was held up, ready to open. "I may need your assistance. Or a bigger hook." She opened the tin and turned it upside down, and immediately she jumped back away from the six foot spider that came out of it. The spider was...surprisingly docile. For the moment. But she still regarded it warily. It didn't seem to have fangs..that was good.

She turned to Wrath with a grin. "I think I can get a couple fish with this. You should be careful challenging me, Falair did that earlier when we had to climb a mountain and she lost. To me."

Treating a mare well and with the respect she deserved was something that Wrath, generally speaking, could do quite well. The problem, however, lay in the fact that he didn't like getting too comfortable. For now, however, everything was just fine and dandy in his books. Na'ima was nice to be around, he enjoyed her company and her many quirks. Things between them didn't seem too serious, and thus, he was happy.

"I have not actually tried to do this before, though it is something that has interested me to some extent in the past. It is like hunting, I suppose, but more peaceful. The gutting afterwards is what I imagine is the most rewarding part of it." He grinned, fingers stroking at whatever strands of hair happened to be falling over her shoulder at the time.

When they reached their destination, Wrath unwound his arm from around her, eyebrows raising. "That bad?" He questioned, while waiting for her to free the live bait that was resting within.

And then she did.

"..............Is that somebodies mount???" He asked, eyes widening, their small competition no longer even remotely on his mind.

"I want one"

"The gutting afterwards is why you are covered in blood." She chuckled, grinning up at him. "I believe you need a delicate hand to properly gut a fish without completely destroying it beyond use." One hand walked her fingers up his chest, her nails scraping against tanned flesh. "Are you capable of a delicate hand, Rathsvith?" Na'ima asked in a low purr, her tone clearly teasing. She then moved her hand away, still entirely too amused. It was interesting to her that Wrath, such an aggressive and battle-ready creature, was also one who could appreciate quiet moments, subtle displays of affection, and peaceful activities like fishing. Fishing was not something she would think of when she had to think of activities Wrath would enjoy. She could do it, she had the patience, but she was surprised he didn't think it was boring.

But now there was a massive six foot spider standing before them, its eyes rolling back and forth from one figure to the other. Na'ima tilted her head, arms crossing. "Impressive, isn't it." The can was tossed aside. "If you truly want one I am sure a Famine Sage can tame one for you." She was taking him seriously; why wouldn't he want one of these.

"It is almost a shame that it is going to die. Ah, well. It will catch me wonderful fish."
