User ImageThe clouds bunched heavy in the sky, rolling together like a bunch of angry sheep. They were heavy with water but the seemed unwilling to drop it; instead they flashed with lightening and rumbled with thunder. A warning to all storm fearing creatures that it was time to take shelter; unfortunately Mi’aline wasn’t one of these despite how often her mother had told her not to fly in storms. The heavy wind currents swept her around in the sky, a feeling of truly being free running through her veins.

She twisted through the clouds shooting out the other side, a blue bullet flashing through the darkness of the clouds. Mi’a hadn’t had such fun in a long time, taking the day off from her training with her father had paid off. Her mothers had been a valuable tactic in distracting her daddy; she was pleased that she had enlisted her momma Cassi first as it was fairly easy after that.

Though she did wish Mari could have come flying with her or maybe one of her aunts? It didn’t matter to her who came but she did so enjoy flying with someone. Not that flying by herself was all that bad either really, she was faster than most that she had met in the sky. It left her a little exposed on the ground since she was a breakable with her hallow bones but that didn’t seem all that horrible a price to pay.

Her feet just barely brushed the tops of the trees as she flew low, glancing down between the branches as she did so. The mare could make out a few things as she flew but perhaps the most interesting thing she spotted was a stallion? He was there and then he was gone so she wasn’t even sure it has been a stallion or another horse really but it was worth checking out right? After all whoever it was they were treading awfully close to her family’s homestead.

She circled low looking for a place to land, eventually finding her favorite slightly rocky outcropping. The rocks almost seemed to groan under her talons as she ripped up moss in her landing. Her ears swiveled about as she listened for the sounds one often made when passing through the forest.

“Where are you?” Mi’aline mumbled to herself as she scanned her surroundings.

He was tired... oh so tired. Yazoo had been searching for years; ever since he woke up by that damn lake to try and figure out just where Mother was. But it always ended with him being led the wrong way or lost to the world around him. It always ended in irritation and heartache. Because no matter what happened, he had always continued to search. And always continued to be disappointed. Throughout all of this, he continued to be forced forward. He met a mare, fell in love, and then lost her during the Kalona wars. And that had been that. Yazoo shook out his mane of silver hair, his eyes lifting to look toward where Shadow Creeper lurked ahead of him, searching out the area. The lion paused and looked over her shoulder, letting out a small growl of a noise before slinking into the tall grass and dark shadows that the stormy skies cast down on the grounds.

Yazoo shook his head some, before he followed quietly as the lion lead the way. He started not to care about what was going on, and instead just followed his companion. So long as she didn’t lead him into some form of death trap, he was all right. She never really knew where she was going either, but the lion had more instinct than he did, and often times would get him someplace safe at night. His tail flicked some, and the cloak that covered his flank kept him warm despite the storm coming in. He paused when he moved toward a field, his head tilting up to stare toward the clouds. His eyebrows pulled together and he frowned slightly, swallowing thickly. This storm was going to be a big one, and if he didn’t find someplace safe for the night he was going to end up being drenched. And that meant that he would end up sick… Shadow Creeper let out a loud noise toward him, and it pulled Yazoo from his thoughts, before he moved after her.

It was then that he felt it. Like his hair was standing on end. Like he was being watched. The stallion lifted his head, searching the tree lines at first. He never thought to look up though. He narrowed his gaze dangerously, his sea green eyes slit. He reached and pulled Velvet Nightmare from her holster, before setting it on the ground in front of him. If he needed, he could get it to work. It took years to perfect how to work the gun, but he had done it. He looked around, eyes darkening like the storm clouds above him. He stood as tall as he could, and his back stiffened, before he tilted his head once more and then took a deep breath. ”I know you’re out there. You cannot hide forever!” He shouted, his body standing firm.

It's all good! XD I know it's that time of the year in retail. I've been swarmed with freight and moving my entire department around. orz

User ImageMi’a could just barely catch the sound of someone’s voice bouncing through the trees. Unfortunately because it was echoing so it was a bit hard to pinpoint just where it came from. It was at this point she wished she had thought to bring Saori with her. Her familiar’s large ears had an easier time locating someone than her own. If truth be told she was often surprised at just how easy it was for the rabbit to isolate a sound from the rest of the forest.

Regardless she would just have to do it on her own at this point. Mi’aline had a general idea of where he was and what direction to head in so that was better than going in blind. The mare leapt off the rocky outcropping to land heavily on the ground. She was careful to pull her wings tight against her side as she cantered through the woods.

If truth be told she hadn’t any intentions of actually hurting the other, she was merely a curious sort by nature. So when she came upon the male who seemed ready for a fight she was mildly alarmed. While she was no stranger to danger or battle she hadn’t expected to come upon a fight.

She was greeted with a large male, who seemed to stand more than a little firm. His pelt showed some wear, the cream it had been a bit roughed up. The silver of his mane and tail was quite catching however and she found her eyes lingering on it longer than needed. To her surprise it was his eyes that caught her attention the most; they seemed to glow with a fire all their own.

“I had no intentions of hiding, but it does take one a moment to land in these woods.” She commented slowly flicking out a wing touching it to the tree to show just how close they were together. It would have been impossible for her to land without injury when the trees hugged each other this tightly. Mi’aline didn’t much fancy ripping out feathers this day.

“Who are you and what are you doing here? You travel terribly close to my family’s homestead. Not that I suppose mother would care terribly much but father would. Though as long as you have no plans to harm us I don’t see why it would be a big deal. You look a little worse for the wear so I don’t suppose you’re up to no good.” She gave a long suffering sigh as she took a step forward claws digging into the earth as she did so. She leaned forward slightly as if she was inspecting him. Mi’a opened her mouth once more before closing it, thinking better of bombarding the stallion with anymore questions.

“I’m Mi’aline.”

To say that Yazoo wasn’t used to people being this close was an understatement. At the sound of someone touching ground, his head snapped to the side. He locked his eyes in the general area, ears flipped up and body stiff. And when a bright blue mare seemed to wander out from the trees, he stared. She was different than he would have expected a mare to be. And her mutations… Well, wings were interesting enough. He hadn’t seen any quiet like that, but he had seen winged horses before. Hers just seemed… fluffier? Was that the proper word? All is a technicality, right? He stared at them for several seconds before letting his eyes drift down toward the claws. Now that was something different, entirely. He had never seen claws like that before. And they were… fascinating. Quiet the mutated being indeed. So perhaps the virus had spread. Or at least, that’s what his mind perceived. He would have to do further study on that, while searching for Mother.

She made a point to explain the trees being close together. And it took Yazoo a moment to let his eyes flick away from those claws and toward the tree that she was touching with those wings. He blinked slowly, tilting his head to the side, and somewhere near by Shadow Creeper hissed and puffed up. She didn’t like feathers. On anyone. Yazoo tilted his head in the direction of the lion, who lurked behind bushes. He frowned, and made a small “tsk” noise. She quieted down, laying to watch the mare with sharp eyes. Yazoo turned his attention back to the winged and clawed girl, staring intently with eyes just as sharp as Shadow Creeper. And when the mare started to speak to him, questioning him, he frowned. His muscles quivered slightly, the disease was spreading and he had to find a way to stop it…

The worse for wear comment made him snort, and he looked down toward his dirty hooves, and along his flank that was greyed from sickness. He hitched his flank just enough to make the coat along his back fall against his body and hide the greying skin. He turned his attention once more toward the mare, Mi`aline. Interesting. He tilted his head to the side, and waited a moment longer, in case she had something else to say. She seemed chatty enough. Which wasn’t a bad thing. ”I was not aware that this part of the forest was owned by any families.” He murmured, before tipping his head to the side. The movement caused his mane to shift and fall to the side, almost framing his face in a way. ”My name is Yazoo. And I am perfectly fine, not “worse for wear”. I have no intention of hurting anyone, today anyways.” He said simply, as though it was no big deal.
