The park seemed like a nice place to rest her feet, as used to walking in heels as she was her feet needed a rest! The knight of Polaris was tired, hot, and needed a break off her heels and so when the entrance to the park came into view she'd picked up her pace and hurried herself into the park and to the nearest bench that was hidden away from view, she did not need civilians or anyone powered spotting her. She knew she was considered a terrorist, even if she was far from that, and thus having any civilians happen upon her would be a bad idea - very bad. As for others who were powered, at least those of chaos, well...they could sense her but if they couldn't find her quickly it gave her time to attack or flee whichever was the best option for her to take. It was a good idea over all to settle onto a bench out of view and hidden by bushes and trees, not to mention other forms of nature and darkness.
With no park light near the bench it was cast into shadow and Delphi was glad for it as she settled down and after some time even lay down, taking her coat off and bundling it up to use as a pillow. her slender and tall frame was stretched out along the bench as she let herself relax and enjoy the cool evening air and the smells of nature fill her. This would be nicer in the fall or winter, for various reasons, but this was nice as well - especially when she saw a firefly drift across her line of sight and light up as it went by.
She knew she needed to stay awake, for her own safety, so rather than close her eyes she kept them open and started to sing to herself in Russian. A soft song, something she'd heard as a child from her mother and her grandmothers as she'd grown up. It was a song she knew by heart and would likely sing to her cousins children whenever any of them had kids of their own, seeing as she didn't want any of her own and had no plans for any. That was one thing her grandmother disliked, and refused to accept, and it was one thing she would continue to try and get her grandmother to understand...or at least get her grandmother to stop bringing up around the dinner table when she visited.

Snowball's tail flicked as he walked in the park. He felt the aura of a knight. While they seemed to be hiding as he walked, he seemed not to mind nor bother about why they could be hiding and since cats were fairly difficult to detect he was happily humming until he stumbled out of a bush and gave a startled mewl that he'd tripped over some branch.
When he looked around the knight was laying there on the bench with a pillow. His brow lofted as he looked at her, "Strange place for a nap." He mused as he sat down looking at her.

She had felt something, nothing major, getting close to her and while she didn't get up she was more alert. There was nothing dark about the aura coming her way, which was good, so she didn't feel threatened in the slightest and remained where she was.
Hearing a branch snap and a mewling sound caused the squire to turn and look toward the...cat that was looking at her. "My feet are tired." She answered sitting up and planting her feet gently on the ground. "These heels aren't exactly user friendly." As much as she was used to heels they weren't the most comfortable thing in the world. "I'm also rather warm in this uniform." The coat of which had been turned into a makeshift pillow. Even with it off she was still a bit too warm really.
Her pale eyes finally looked over the fluffy, and very pretty, cat that had spoken. "Who might you be?"

Snowball smiled as she answered him, "Oh, wow." He moved to look at her heels, "Why not take them off then?" He asked as he sat down looking at her.
When she mentioned she was warm in the uniform he nodded his head softly, "I know the feeling. My fur is fairly thick and almost too much so for this weather."
He stretched for a bit until she asked him who he might be. "OH! I'm Snowball, Guardian cat to Princess Polaris." He added as he licked a paw. "And you're . . .?" He trailed off as he asked for her name.

"They are hard to get off and on." And if she needed to get them on to run...she'd be screwed and she knew it. They were no easy thing to keep on her feet for a long time but the treads on them was good for dealing with snow, the height also kept snow from getting into them when on Polaris. They served a purpose there but here it was a pain in her feet.
"Yes, you would be better suited to a colder climate, you'd like where my family is from." Russia was nice and cold. The cat beside her would be perfect for the coldness the country could offer, perhaps even comfortable in it.
"Polaris..." Trailing off she offered her hand than to the cat. "Delphi, squire of Polaris." She answered. She hadn't known the other had a cat, not that she'd ever thought to ask. This was certainly interesting but this cat suited the planet and likely enjoyed the cold there. She knew it was nicer for her, at least when she was in her full uniform.

"True, but in warmer weather do you really need shoes?" He asked, as his tail flickered, "At least they appear back on your feet next time you power up." There was a small chuckle, "Could lose them all the way if they didn't."
He tilted his head as she spoke, "Where is you're family from?" He asked curiously, as he watched her, "I do enjoy the colder climates and weather it's so much nicer than this hot, sticky humidity." He said as he licked at his fur a little.
The cat moved to nuzzle against her head, "Ohh! You're a squire of Polaris, does she know you?" He asked curiously as he looked at the knight excitedly. He didn't know all of the knights and since Polaris had been gone a while he wasn't even sure who she knew.

"Perhaps not but I wouldn't walk barefoot." Not in this city - digusting! The dirt, grim, and change for injuring a foot by stepping on something. No, she would keep them on when walking around, no matter how warm it was or how much they bothered her feet, but she would take breaks at times so she could take them off - like she was currently doing. "My family is from Russia. It's very good there in the winter." That would be a good place for a uniform like her's, it would keep a person warm, but here it was a bit too much.
"You'd like it there." She added after a moment before she let her hand move to pet the cat and nodded her head. "She does. We went to my wonder together my first time." And she had found her ring and they had spent a good deal of time there that trip. They hadn't seen each other since and she hadn't been back to her wonder since, something she was going to change soon, but she did indeed know Polaris.
"I met her before she left." She added after a moments hesitation.

Snowball started laughing when Delphi said she wouldn't walk barefoot. "I suppose it's not a very good place to walk with bare feet." He nodded softly, "I do enjoy winter. It's so much nicer than the ickball that summer turns me into."
He sighed wistfully at the thought of summers. "Oh, so you've already seen Polaris and her homeworld. That's awesome. We should go sometime." He added as his head nodded fairly matter-of-factually. With a twitch of his tail, "She's back!" He added with a smile and a purr.

Ickball? What was an ickball exactly? It was not a word she had ever heard and used as some sort of slang. She figured it wasn't a good thing and something the poor cat suffered due to the heat and likely all the fur he boasted. "Winter is preferred by me as well." Her boots were made for it but she did dislike the heels a fair bit, they simple were not something she wanted to walk in for hours or jump about in for that matter.
"Yes, I am glad she is back. And yes, I've been to my wonder. It seems to be court houses and libraries. Polaris was good enough to help me in some cleaning there. I plan to clean up more of the place so it's able to be used by people. It shouldn't remain as it is anyway, it was an important place and should be restored to such." Oh, she had plans to clean it up, even if it took her a long time. She would not tolerate the messy state Delphi was in.
"I can take you sometime, whenever I am able and you'd like to go. I don't know if you will like it however." Some, many, would find her wonder boring she was sure. She also didn't care what anyone else thought about her wonder - it was her wonder and not theirs so her opinion mattered and not anyone elses.

Snowball smiled as Delphi talked about her wonder, "OHHH LIBRARIES!?" He said looking excited at the word, "The only thing that could possibly make that better is snow!"
He pranced a little bit as she spoke about it, "Yes, yes. We need to restore the Capital too . . . well I don't know if it's really a Capital but I assume it maybe something similar? Since Polaris is the Princess, who knows." Snowball rolled his shoulders, "Either way I'd love to see everything restored on the homeworld and wonders. It'd be so much nicer to go to places that weren't decayed messes."

"Well, you and I both know Polaris has a lot of snow." Which meant the place was cold - very cold. Her uniform came in handy there but here in the summer it was far too much. She wished things could adapt over time, or to new planets, or even to the seasons but as much as you'd think magic could do all those things - it couldn't...or perhaps it simply didn't want to? Either way her uniform only worked here part of the year but no matter what was good for Polaris from what she could tell.
"Mine isn't decayed, thankfully. Messy, broken things, and without heat or light, but not beyond some manner of repair and rebuilding." She answered while wondering about this capital, she hadn't seen it and was curious. "I've never seen the capital...I've seen nothing but my wonder. I do wonder what else there is and where the government resided and schools and such." She said thinking of the important things and wondering what this city could look like and what it had held. What had society been like then? It didn't have to be like here on Earth but it did need a government and it's youth needed to be educated surely. People needed homes and markets for selling or trading needs and goods. So what were these places, where were they, and what did they look like. What had things been like back then.

Snowball's tail swished softly as she replied and he started laughing, "Well of course I do! But that doesn't mean something some how couldn't be underground or covered!"
He purred softly as she spoke. "Oh, yes thankfully. It sounds like you got off better than Niflhel did. Which his wonder is on Saturn so there could be differences between the climates."
The cat seemed curious. "I'd love to visit your homeworld." He paused when she said she'd never seen anything but her wonder. "Hopefully we can fix that."
He pondered, "I'm guessing the government might've been there but might have also been scattered around the wonders. Would it make sense for all of them to be in one place or just meet there?" He seemed thoughtful, "I'm not sure, never dug into that."
He stopped, "I'm sure there were different wonders and places that had schools too, or maybe home schooling for those that didn't? Which didn't you say you had a library? They could've learned there if they needed."
He rolled over on his back, "I wish we had snow now." He muttered thinking of Polaris made him want to go there. Explore. Dive in some snow bank and not come out.

"Climate would account for some differences, as well as building materials. Most of mine is metal...but Greek in style...a very odd combination." She said shaking her head. Chairs, tables and such were wood but the buildings themselves were metal...which meant the inside was really cold. That had likely helped preserve the books inside her wonder as well.
"I'd like that. I'd like to see more of Polaris. I just am afraid that anything else is far away and getting lost walking would be a real possibility." There was nothing like a map or compass to help guide her from her wonder to the next building or the city.
"There are two libraries...but I get the feeling it's all law books." She answered after a moment of thought. "But yes, perhaps the major things were scattered...perhaps not. I do wonder though." There might be more things close by to her wonder even now that she thought on it, she hadn't left the grounds at all so couldn't be sure if anything was near by that could be seen from her wonder.
"We can visit...if you want. It's nice...big." Five buildings, all fairly large, and lots of open space for people to mill around as she was sure people once had done. Maybe if the snow and ice ever melted around her wonder she could find something, even if it was just paving stones or decorations on the ground...maybe someone had carved a name into a stone or cement like they did here on Earth at times. Anything would be interesting to her.
"We can go now, if you like."

Snowball had been nodding and thinking on how to answer her train of thought. "Yeah, it sounds like Polaris' main castle. Most of it seemed to be made of metal as well. It's a running theme I believe. . . " He had to wonder how much of it was intentionally incorporated because of his Princess's attacks.
Snowball's ears perked up as she said they could go now if he'd like. He'd heard the rest of what she was speaking about but his mind directly skipped all of that and skidded to a halt on going up to Polaris to see snow. "YES!" He said jumping up and prancing, "Can we? Please? I'd love to get out of this heat!"
Needless to say, Snowball was very excited for snow.

"If the castle is as well than it likely is. Though given how metal and cold work together it doesn't seem like something which should have been...but magnetism...so it makes sense." It just meant there had to have once been good heating, or the people were warmer blooded than humans were. She wasn't sure which but maybe she'd find out eventually, her uniform was meant for the cold so maybe not too warm blooded...but a bit more maybe? She'd not yet gotten any memories, and hadn't found an ancestor either, but it didn't mean anything - yet.
Laughing as she watched the cat jump about in glee over the prospect of going to her wonder she nodded. Standing as she went to get her boots on and laced up. "Of course, you can handle the cold - don't want me to bundle you into my coat with me?" She asked, wanting to be sure.
