Olympus Olympics STARTS: August 14th ENDS: August 19th
The friendly gods Zeus and Poseidon have come down to Animal Crossing: Barton Town to enjoy some cultural festivity. They've decided to have some fun and will be challenging villagers to a series of games!
Zeus and Posideon have decided to host a total of five games. Each game will last one day. The gods will be participating themselves! Your objective is to beat the Gods at their own games.
Each day, a different game will be hosted. Each game will come with directions for the players to follow. Follow the guidelines for the competition and play to find out where you will place!
Again, the goal is to beat Poseidon and Zeus at their own games. By beating the gods in a competition, you will earn greek coins. At the end of the event, these greek coins can be cashed in for prizes! Prizes will include accessory sets, and bells.
But that's not it! It's definitely a good idea to be beating the gods at their game. Why, you ask? Well, in order of who posts firsts, when greek coins are earned, they will also be taken as raffle tickets and put in a raffle. (You do not need to exchange your Greek Coins for a ticket, this is automatic.) One lucky winner will win a free custom Greece themed villager. (This will be a moderately edited custom, by myself!) This raffle will be rolled at the end of the Olympus Olympics event.
Also, at the end of each day, points will be scored based on your performance in the competition and tallied up! (You will then be awarded greek coins based on how well you did on the day.)
Feel free to use some creativity and write a short entry about what villager played in the competition each day and how it turned out. The gods may dish out extra rewards! If you have horrible luck and end up doing bad in all competitions, stay strong! The gods may bless you with some rewards too! They're feeling quite generous! You do not have to own a Villager to play!
POINTS// WHAT ARE GREEK COINS Q.What are Greek coins? A. Instead of saying points all the time, we're using Greek Coins. You will earn Greek Coins based on how well you performed in each day's task. Greek coins can be spent at the end of the event to purchase accessory sets or trade in for bells. Greek coins can ONLY be used for this event.
If you lose in a competition, you will earn 0 greek coins.
If you tied with a god you will earn one Greek Coin. There will be occasions where tying with a certain god may be more beneficial and earn you two or more Greek Coins. (For example, if a minigame is in Poseidon's realm and you tie with Poseidon you will earn two Greek Coins, however if you tie with Zeus, you will earn one Greek coin.) The point scoring will be explained for each game when a new daily game is available.
Winning against the gods will earn you 2-4 Greek Coins depending on the competition.
If you have any questions about the games, or this event, or anything, feel free to ask me in the Animal Crossing: Barton Town shop forum. Not here, in the guild!
GREEK COIN TRACKER Players earned points will be kept tracked of here.

Welcome! The Olympus Olympics have begun! Today is Day One, and Zeus and Poseidon have thought of a great simple way to get this competition started!
In Greece, Children love to play hopscotch, it's a very classic game. Surely, even you have already played it. The game will take place today, here in Barton Town. There are eight total spaces where you can hop, making it to square eight wins you today's game automatically.
Both Zeus and Poseidon played the game and made it to square 3. Sitting on their thrones for too long have made them have an unstable balance.
HOW TO PLAY To play, simply: Generate a random number from 1-8. (This will determine how far you made it in the Hopscotch game. EX: If you RNG 1-8 and get a 4, you made it to square four.)
Reaching square 2 or lower will get you 0 Greek coins. Reaching square 3 will earn you 1 Greek Coin. Reaching square 4 to square 7 will earn you two Greek coins. Reaching square 8 will earn you three Greek Coins.
Good luck, hopefully you will be better than the gods at this! Let the games begin!

Day one is now officially over! Day two will begin momentarily!
Day one results: [Celeste] earned one Greek coin. Irish Night Fox and mewmew kittykat94 earned two Greek coins. Verity and Kitsy earned 0 Greek coins, better luck in today's competition!
[Day 2 - Poseidon's realm]
With Poseidon bestowing the ability to breathe underwater to everyone participating in the games, Poseidon has decided to host the ultimate underwater game! (However, hold your horses, this ability to breathe underwater will only last for the duration of the game!)
Poseidon's hippocampus have come out to play! It's a race!
Each villager will receive a partner hippocampus to ride with. This game consists of 4 checkpoints and a victory point. Each checkpoint is spaced about ten minutes apart based on minimum physical condition while participating. This means the longest it would take anyone to win a race is 50 minutes. Make it to the victory point faster than the gods do and win!
HOW TO PLAY You will need to generate a random number from 1 to 10, five times. (Rolling five dices instead is cheating which will result in disqualification from today's game! You must generate a number five times to ensure you hit all checkpoints and aren't off course!)
By doing this, you will have how long it took you to complete this race.
You do not need to tally your minutes up but you can to make it easier for the gods to score points!
HOW THE GODS PLAYED TODAY Poseidon, the god of the sea, raced on his loyal hippocampus and finished the race in 22 minutes! Beat that! Can you get to the finish line quicker than Poseidon? If you do beat the sea god, you will earn 4 Greek coins. If you tie with Poseidon you will earn 3 Greek coins.
Zeus, the god of the sky and unfamiliar with the sea finished the race in 41 minutes. You better beat him! Having a lower time than Zeus will earn you two Greek coins, where tying with Zeus will earn you one Greek Coin. If you take 42 minutes or more to finish the race, you will lose the race and earn 0 Greek coins for today's competition!
Remember, the lower the time, the faster you reached the finish line. Good luck!
