It was a day for sneaking out of the house, or so Tera had decided. He had been sitting in the living room of the house, reading over one of his magic books, when his mother had appeared and started to chat with him. It wasn't as though it was a bad chat per say, but listening to her talk about Kyruie's engagement, as well as how soon he would be too busy to be Tera's bodyguard, kind of made his chest ache. He wasn't exactly sure why, maybe because he enjoyed having out with him? He should be happy that he at least still had Ashta to hang out with, right? That was he thought, though he still wasn't sure about it.

After the woman had gone to chat with her husband, and to get things ready for dinner, and Tera excused himself saying that he was going to talk with his magic teacher. Not the truth, but a good way to get out and get some fresh air. Not to mention try to get his mind off the fact that Kyruie was heading out to get married to some unknown woman. The voice in his head pointed out Tera's jealousy... but it was a thought that Tera did his best to ignore. He didn't want to think about it, didn't want to consider that he was jealous, especially when he didn't even know who Kyruie's fiancee was. She might be a very nice woman, Kyruie might very well be head over heels in love with her, and he didn't want to be like that. He should be happy for him, cheer him on, and hope that the King and Queen of the Gods blessed Kyruie with many children.

He should do that, but he didn't want to. Something that caused the voice in his head to chuckle a bit, amused at Tera's mixed up emotions where Kyruie was concerned. Hurrying along, one magical tome clutched to his chest, he headed on his way, hoping to find a quiet place to read for a bit while getting his barrings.

She was in no rush to get home. Traveling slowly back towards Zena was turning out to be fun. Although the Oban's she ran into didn't seem too friendly towards her they also weren't hostile. Then the Matori's that she meet were often kind to her. They loved to touch Haimah and Sneeu and she told them all about Zena and the cold weather. It was nice, and the fact that she knew she was heading home made it even nicer. This trip was temporary, unlike her last one, and that made her happy.

She was walking through the landscape when she noticed a book with a book to his chest. He looked guilty, or at least in her mind he did. Maybe it was fear that was really across his face? Or it could be neither of those things. She found as time went by her motherly skills at picking up expressions was fading. Either way, she hadn't had any human to talk to in a few hours so he made as good of candidate as any.

"Hello there." she said as she vaulted off Sneeu's back. She found most people were much more willing to speak to her when she was at their level.

Tera's form went stockstill when someone spoke to him, causing him to jerk his head to the side slowly. For a moment he expected that he had been caught... but instead of anyone that he knew he found himself starring at a stranger. Not only was it a stranger but it was a foreigner as well. He blinked a couple times, looking the woman over, then gave her pet a glance as well, and realized that neither of them were recognizable to him. It was only after he realized that he was starring did he lift a hand to wave at the woman, "Ahhh... H-Hello!"

Instantly he was questioning if he should talk with this person or if he should turn on his heel and run away. He didn't exactly have the best experience with those who weren't Matori after all. Still, wouldn't it be rude to just run away from her? The voice in the back of his head said that it would be more prudent for him to run, that Tera shouldn't be chatting up strangers! Especially those who Tera couldn't even identify! Tera should go, now! Given that he was rather curious about her after all, especially given that not that long ago people from Matori had gone North to help right? Was it possible she knew about what had happened during that time?

Ignoring the voice in his head for the moment he asked, "H-How's it going?" He'd never talked to someone outside of the Matori and Oban's tribes, so this could be informative!

He froze when she spoke to him and part of her wondered if she had picked the wrong person to talk to. He even moved to look at her slowly, but then he waved and she was relieved that it was okay. She would hate for her to meet someone who was hostile towards her on her way out. So far she had traveled without any big fights.

"Good good, just heading back to Zena. How about you? I hope that I didn't disturb you." Maybe he was on his way somewhere, which was why he froze. Maybe it was something secretive, like a meeting with a girl, or a boy? He didn't look like the kind that would go sneaking off to meet with a lover. Then again did anyone ever look like that?

"Sorry I'm rude. I'm Zuri, this is Haimah and Sneeu." she said pointing to each of them as she said their name. Neither of them were really paying attention though.

Tera's fin like ears gave a thoughtful sort of twitch before he said, "Zena? Where is that?" His voice sounded curious since he knew so little of the world. He'd never heard of 'Zena' before and it made him rather curious both about where it was, what it was like, and maybe even how far away that was. It wasn't as though he meant to do any traveling any time soon, but he could still ask questions about various far off lands that foreigners knew about. It would be nice to at least know about those places if only so as not to be completely ignorant of things outside of the village he lived in.

"It's nice to meet you Miss Zuri, as well as Haimah and Sneeu, my name is Tera." He said, looking the pair over in a curious manner, "If you don't mind me asking, what are they?" He'd never seen anything like the two before which made him want nothing more then to figure out what they were, not to mention what Tribe she was from. There was so much that Tera didn't know, but wanted to learn. Maybe this woman would help him in that regard?

A waste of time asking about places Tera wouldn't visit the voice in his head said, something Tera once more ignored. Even if he never ended up going to Zena at least he'd know where it was and what it was, so that was at least something! A thought that was met with a bit of a snort and nothing more.

He hadn't even heard of Zena? Well she guessed that most of the Matori people hadn't moved around many places. "It's in the north-eastern most part of Tendaji. It takes a little bit of time to get from there to here, mostly because of the terrain though." if she would have just brought Sneeu then they could have flew there, but she felt bad leaving Haimah behind. Even if he wasn't her mount she still loved him dearly. Her two companions were now the only children she had.

When he asked what Haimah and Sneeu were she tilted her head slightly. He had to be very sheltered to not even know what they were. She had seen many travelers selling different companions on her travels through. "Um well Haimah is from Jauhar, which is a rain forest, and he's called a Radaku. Sneeu is from Zena like me, and he's called a Raptrix. They are both are able to be ridden, though I use Sneeu personally. He's from the same place I am, so I just feel more connected to him." she said happily to teach him more about things he didn't know.

"Ohhh, I see." Tera murmured in a thoughtful manner before he asked, "What is it like in Zena? Other then Zena and Oba I haven't really been anywhere else... I'm not exactly allowed to even leave the house unless I... ahh... sneak away." He whispered the last part, as though saying it too loud was going to summon forth his very unhappy mother who would likely prefer that he stay safely in his room where he wouldn't get lost or worse, stolen away. Again. The war with Oba was over, so she shouldn't worry about such things anymore but he supposed with all that happned it was only natural.

Turning his attention to the two beasts standing before him Tera studied them as their owner told him about them, what they were were and where they were from, "I see... so their from two different lands then? Wow... you must have traveled a lot to find them, huh?" He breathed, quite fasincated by the story, "Is it fun? To ride around on their backs? I mean... I'm just wondering what that might be like. I don't know if I want to though, the beasts of Matori that people ride, their a bit on the scary side." He shook his head rapidly at the idea of actually sitting on a Bushi or a Snaptrotter. He didn't think that he could do it but he was eager to hear about her experiences with it.

She smiled. Although she wanted to tell him that he shouldn't sneak out, and that his parents meant well she had a feeling it would fall on a deaf ears. She wondered how many time her own daughters has snuck out of the house, and neither her nor her ex-husband were all that strict on them. It had to be a normal part of growing up. "It's very cold. Snow everywhere and if you don't wear furs you might become frozen. It's peaceful though, all the white everywhere. At least to me. We also have a lot of caves and mountains. Though Oba has those as well."

She nodded. "Yes I have. I wanted to make sure I had the perfect companion for me. I'm going to be a rider soon, and a rider is only as good as their companion." When he asked about riding them she smiled. "I love it, and you are free to try with them. Although I think Sneeu would be the best with all of his fur, and he has his saddle on him."

Tera listened in a very intent manner about Zena, about it being a land of cold and snow, and that if one didn't dress right that you could actually freeze. That was enough to cause his eyes to go a little wide, though the talk of it also being a peaceful place made it sound nice, even with that freezing danger, "I bet all the caves and mountains gives the people there a lot to explore." He murmured, a thoughtful look on his face. At the mention of Oba though he was instantly shaking his head, "No, I don't think I will ever go to Oba again... well... except maybe to get through to other places. Maybe... someday..." He wanted to travel, but actually being able to, that was another thing entirely. He doubted very much that between his mother and the bodyguards she hired for him that he would be going anywhere anytime soon save for his little sneaking away trips.

"The perfect companion." Tera mused, looking over at the pair of beasts again. That sounded rather... nice, didn't it? Even the voice in his head seemed to have no objections to the thought, instead giving a noncomittal sound of agreement. As the woman told him that he could try it out his eyes went wide, "O-Oh... I don't know... I've never done anything like that before." He said in a hushed tone, looking at Sneeu, who was all fluff, and found himself very tempted. Surely she wouldn't offer if the beast was at all dangerous, right? So maybe... maybe it would be alright? Without realizing it he took a step closer toward Sneeu, as though the temptation was luring him forward. A temptation that had his heart thudding in his chest with excitement.

She watched the emotions across his face as she talked. It was enjoyable, and for a second Zuri wondered what it would be like to travel the world and teach those that were younger about all the things that she had seen. She imagined it for a second before realizing that she would grow bored of that. She was a warrior, and although she would do fine doing that in times of peace it wasn't something she would want to do for the rest of her life. "Yes, I actually found Sneeu in a cave as a pup. They can be filled with all kinds of wonders, some dangerous and some enjoyable." She frowned when he started to shake his head. She didn't think about that, about how Oba was still most likely a place that many Matori didn't want to venture near. "It's never to late. Some people don't travel until they are much older, and stronger."

She smiled. "There is first time for everything. Plus Sneeu is one of the best trained of his kind, or of most creatures for that matter. He's amazing for a first time." When Tera moved closer to Sneeu Zuri motioned with her hand for Sneeu to get closer to the ground. He wasn't that big, but if Tera did chose to take a ride on him it would be easier to have Sneeu closer to the ground.

"A pup? That sounds so adorable." He murmured, wondering what Sneeu must have looked like as a pup. Likely really tiny and fluffy if Tera had to make a guess, which must have been quite amazing to behold. How he'd love to see such a thing he thought to himself before he glanced toward Zuri once more, "Huh? Oh... yes, maybe I can still travel..." It would be nice to do, though it would have to wait. He wanted to attend Kyruie's wedding if he was allowed, to see the deed done, and make sure that Kyruie was in good hands. He didn't want to travel before that, not wanting to think of him being all alone.

Taking a couple steps forward toward Sneeu he lifted his hands up, reaching out toward the large, fluffy beast. He paused, took in a deep breath, before reaching out to stroke his soft fluffy fur in a gentle manner, "You're really soft, Sneeu." He complimented the raptrix, finding it rather nice and relaxing to pet him like this. Turning his attention Zuri he asked in a curious, though somewhat shy manner, "Can... can I... hug him?" To be able to hug something this big and fluffy, how nice would that feel?

She smiled as she looked over at Sneeu. "He was adorable, not so nice at first but he ended up warming up to me pretty fast." The first week wasn't so good, but after that things got better and better with time. At least he ate every day, unlike the pup she had captured before him. "If you do you are more then welcome to stay with me should you come all the way to Zena." She offered. She doubted he would come there, it wasn't many people's first choice, but at least he would have somewhere to stay if he did.

Sneeu leaned into Tera stroked his fur. It felt good, and he liked the compliment.

When Tere asked to hug Sneeu Zuri nodded. "It's like hugging a cloud, go ahead."

"I see." So it took time for the fluffy puppy to warm up to her? He supposed that he could see that, she was new to him after all. It meant that the two of them had to get to know each other. It could be a difficult thing, getting to know others. Tera knew that himself but he also knew that it must be even tougher with a beast since it was impossible for them to talk to one another in the same language. That they warmed up to each quickly was impressive to Tera. There was a moment where he found himself wondering if perhaps he should try to make an animal friend... but decided against it. His mother likely wouldn't be interested in having an animal in the house but maybe after he left home?

Giving a smile, his fin ears twitching, Tera said, "That's very kind of you to offer such me such a thing even though I'm a stranger." Stranger then many knew the voice in the back of his mind so happily said. A thought he ignored, "I thank you for the offer." He supposed that if he ever made it to Zena that it would be nice to know at least one person. Better then wandering around completely alone.

"He's very soft, like no beast in Matori." He murmured, smiling as the woman gave him permission to hug Sneeu. Stepping closer he wrapped his arms around the big beast, burying his head in his fur, and let his eyes sink shut. It was the most amazing, relaxing feeling, just as Zuri said it was like hugging a cloud! Something that caused him to give a soft laugh, "This is wonderful."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 27, 2016 4:37 pm

"Aren't we all strangers at one point?" She mused, talking more to herself then to Tera. She shook her head, eyes focusing back on him as she did so. "Plus, it can be dangerous up there in Zena for those that don't know the land. Shards, it's dangerous even for those of us that do know it. If you're going to travel to somewhere so far from home might as well enjoy it and not have to worry all the time." She would hate for him to go and die, she would feel responsible since she was the one that suggested that he go.

Zuri smiled as Tera spoke about how soft Sneeu was. She remembered her amazement at holding a raptrix for the very time. She was young and her father had brought her one to see. His friend raised them and he thought that his children should at the very least know about the creatures that lived around them. She wanted to keep it and cried when her father told her that she couldn't, that they wouldn't have pet in the house until she was much older and able to take care of it herself. The memory pained her slightly, she missed her father, but at the same time it made her happy. She had a truly wonderful childhood.

"That's one thing I found to be true while traveling, in the different regions the different creatures are vastly different. From their skin or fur, to the way they look. It's crazy to think that we are all on one big island yet like us Earthlings the animals all look different."

Aren't they all strangers at one point? Tera's eyes got wide at the words, finding that he rather liked the inspirational feeling that the words had to them. He turned to look at her, listening closely as she explained how dangerous Zena could be for residents and visitors alike, as he snuggled on Sneeu, "I will be sure to be careful if I do head there." He wasn't sure if he would end up in Zena though he rather liked the idea of visiting it one day. Knowing that he might actually know someone already were he to visit Zena was nice to think about.

"Really? Vastly different creatures..." He murmured, before giving a smile, "Well, I would like to see more creatures one day. I don't really see a lot of them since there are only so many of the around where I live, mostly alol. Have you ever seen one of those before?"
