Since arriving to the strange village, the ghoul had roamed about with her trusty fire companion in tow. But it was easily noticeable how strong the natives distaste for both her and the rest of the visitors was. It was thicker than the fog that cloaked them, piecing through it, and so very palpable. She figured they must not like outsiders, and she couldn't blame them. But the reaper wasn't put off by the radiating dislike from the village folk. In fact, her usual grin would be cracked and offered to any who decided to bore their eyes into her.
Cannon, on the other hand, was not at all pleased with the obvious hostility from the strangers of the fog infested place. His own already sharp and threatening features honed their edge, glare returned back to each aimed at them, lips quivering from time to time in a withheld snarl. But Verushas striking hand helped keep his flames, and anger, at a simmer. She knew he meant well, but his protective nature could only do harm than good in this sort of place...
Sauntering about aimlessly, getting a feel for the place and a casual look around, the ghoul was surprised to be prompted with a villager. His introduction of his profession causes a curious brow to crook from the student. That was a first her ever hearing of such a job. Cool. When the request was made, she ds f need to hesitate or even really think much into it, to agree. When given the material options, she was naturally and instantly drawn to the flaming carpet. While fiddling with it, her eyes perused the rest of the items, ending on the carves whale bone. Yes, these were awesome. Following his assistance and guidance in building the basket, her grin peeled back more with the further along they got. She couldn't wait to get this baby in the air!

Building the basket went by rather quickly. Soon enough it was done and looking pretty darn cool. Standing back to admire her work, Verusha shot a confident grin to the villager for his take on we work. Didn't seem as enthused as she was but hey, that was ok. She'd made her first, and probably only, hot air balloon basket. Something to cross off her list of things to do in life.
With the approval at least given, the balloon portion was given the green light to get attached. Watching with intrigue as the massive bubble was enlarged with the assistance fire, Verusha stepped back a little more to take in the full effect. So cool... She was pumped to get in there and see the whole entirety of this strange place. Once it was fully swollen and taut, she got closer again. Peeking in at the flickering flame carpet, her fingers tingled with energy, which translated to the slightly elevated and more eager flames along Cannons body.
Hoisting herself into the basket, she tested its durability by walking around the interior. Pretty sturdy, not bad. The cushiony flooring was a pleasant luxury too. With her instruction given, Verusha coaxed Cannon to join her inside the floating device. With her partner in crime joined with her, the reaper ghoul was ready to set off and fulfill the request.
The balloon began to take flight, she surveyed all that be and visible to her. And what a sight it was! The whole town was in a curious serpentine shape. How awesome... But it became clear fast enough that maybe he was going a bit too high now. The air was strange in the elevated levels. So thin.... It forced her to have to lower down quickly to relieve the discomfort and gain better breath. Once back to the bottom she gave a report to the dragonseer.
