It was a gorgeous sunny day in the Kawanii lands and Neriah was on duty. She was walking the paths near a populated area that was full with families. The herd like to keep someone around just in case. Neriah didn't mind it, she enjoyed watching the families in the field and she had often volunteered for the area. The families also seemed to enjoy having her around as she would interact with them and knew a lot of them by name.

Neriah had a good maternal instinct about her, regardless of never having foals of her own. So she knew that the local families felt safe with her nearby. But the small mare couldn't help but chuckle thinking about the occasion that Crusnik had to patrol the area. The mare was quiet good at her job... Exceptional even. But she lacked personal skill. When the foals interacted with her, she would stand there like a statue and just accept that they danced around her legs. Neriah sometimes wondered how Crusnik managed to raise two foals on her own. Rosen wasn't much better either. Bass though... Well she had come to the herd only a few days before he left. But had liked him and was sad to see him go. He hadn't been back since.

As Neriah finished the circle around the field, she continued on the path that led deeper into the bright woods. It would take her a couple hours to complete it before making it back to the field but she took her time, there was no rush. Her saddle creaked on her back as she walked. Her lantern lit and held high in case anyone needed her and any 'others' were ready to join the light.

Neriah bounced her way down the path she walked so often her eyes were closed and she was listening to the sounds of the forest. She hummed softly to herself as she became engulfed in the forest. As per usual, the farther into the forest one went, the darker it became. But that was never a problem for the small mare. Her saddle came equipped with a built in lantern that often attracted fireflies but the lantern cast a warm light that spilled around her. She really did love her saddle set! The bridle matched and was decorated with Lady Bugs. It was the most adorable thing ever! It even had a light golden sash for more accent! Ahh but that would be a memory for another time.

The mare opened her golden eyes, her antenna gave a twitch and she stopped. What was she hearing? She strained her ears but couldn't pick anything up. She moved forward but ceased her humming and then it didn't take long for her realize that she wasn't along. That's when she heard a small voice call out a hesitant hello. The mare veered off the larger path and made her way to the small golden foal.

"Ah, there you are." She smiled warmly and lowered her herself a bit more to the foals height, keeping what she found to be an 'un-intruding distance' but close enough for the foal to see her clearly. "My name is Neriah, do you need help getting somewhere?"

Neriah tilted her head some at the foal as he talked. Foals were so sweet and adorable! And this little one seemed to have accidently become separated from his mother. Neriah assumed that she must be very worried and so Neriah was to quickly return his child to her.

"It is very nice to meet you Tithdaeron. But no, your mother did not send me. But I can help you find her, if you would like me too." Even here in the Kawanii lands, stranger danger was a threat. She could only hope that young Tith's mother told him about the lantern and the herd so he might know she was there to help him. "I'm from a local herd that helps those that are lost, find what they seek." She smiled again at the foal and stood up. "Do you and your family live near the large field where there's other families?" She was referring to area that she started her path walk on. A lot of local families would graze in the field and let their foals place. But that certainly didn't mean he lived anywhere near there but it was a good start.

"Oh is that so? Well it's not surprising~ There's so much to do and see out in the world. Sometimes you just get a bit distracted." She gave him a wink and waited for his response before she tried to take him anywhere. It was possible that his mother was nearby and she could just show up. But Neriah was concerned with the fact that he was far enough off the beaten path that it was likely if she was looking for him, she would have missed.
