The local dragonseer (that's a fancy word for someone who rides on a balloon and stares at the fog from above) wants your help in locating potential signs of danger and sand whales. You are to ride the balloon up and take a look.

You must first assemble the balloon. Pick any two items from the list below to make the basket of your balloon out of. Rp accordingly:

- Snake leather
- Thick rope
- Flaming carpet
- A basket of foxfires
- A white cloth
- Carved sand whale bone
- A net
- A table
- A door
- Five golden rings
- A pine tree
- A trash can
- A really really really really big bottle

- Next, to ascend, roll 1d100. This is the number of feet that your balloon launches to the sky. If you roll a 1.. you kind of suck. Maybe you're really bad with balloons. Maybe youre too heavy. Maybe your buddy should get off. Who knows.

If your character is lucky and manages to roll above 50 feet, they will get to see the town below them. You notice that the town is shaped like an S. You can also see clearly the town below you.

If your character rolls above 80 feet, you end up going too high into the highest miasma clouds. The thin air makes exposure to miasma easily and you gain +5 miasma.

As long as you roll over 50 feet you succeed in this venture.

Aureole hadn't found much of any of the villagers helpful, which was a big bummer for her. Less creeple to talk with or for them to not want to whack her with a stick or something if she just so happened to pop out of a shadow here or there to spook them.

Oh well...

She did happened upon someone that looked like they needed help for... Looking at the fog? Well... She had lived in the mountains where she had had plenty of experiences with such weather phenomenon so why not? Maybe she'd finally get someone to talk to among the villagers to figure out more about the place.

If there was one thing Aureole was good with, it was figuring out plans. Even some building plans were her jam! With all the items at her disposal, she was putting many of them together in her head to try and find which ones would work best.

She instantly grabbed the thick rope and a net. She then proceeded to tie the corners of the net with the rope, placing the net over the balloon before tying the corners horizontally together. Hah!

"Done!" Her little hands held the rope as the balloon started to float. She tested it by hanging from the rope for a moment and beamed brightly as she began to ascend without the use of her wings.

Strange the seer hadn't asked her to just fly up and look but whatever, she supposed. Less physically work for her!

Well, that was an unfortunate turn of events.

It seemed that the test did show that the balloon could float but apparently it was only going to get as high as where she face was from where she was standing. Welp, that didn't work out the way she had hoped.

She gave the rope a few tugs to see if that did anything. The balloon bobbed a few times before returning to it's normal height of where it decided to stay. She checked the corners, just to be sure that they had enough pressure to push the balloon up more into the net. They seemed fine and as tight as she could possibly get them to be. And the net seemed perfectly fine. Not more holes than there needed to be and there didn't seem to be any tares in it.

And the balloon was in almost pristine shape. No holes or possibility of holes anywhere on it.

"You sure this balloon is capable of getting up there? I mean, it's not hhuuggee or anything but..." Her inquiry was met with a stern glare which Aureole threw a hand up in defense at. Geez, she guessed questioning the craft of the balloon was out of the question.

"Well... I tried. Sorry, dragon-person." She handed her 'basket' back to the dragonseer, who didn't look the least bit pleased with the result. What was Aureole supposed to do? She had, again, thought about using her wings but it seemed just at the mere thought of it caused the fog above her to grow thicker.

Though she really did want to see above the village. It might have helped her to see from a bird's eye view but it seemed whatever was making this fog was going to have none of that.

And the last thing she wanted to do was make something mad at her. Especially if she were flying. Her wings were a very important part of her body that she would like to keep from getting damaged. And she REALLY didn't want to lose any of her feathers in this place.
