The ballooning had been an almost disaster... nobody had even mentioned the miasma clouds above and now he was pretty sure he'd been exposed to whatever weirdness was going on in this village. It irked him something fierce and he began to wonder if maybe these villagers were resistant to the miasma? And what did the miasma actually do anyway?
While he was ponder these life-altering questions, one villager approached him and whispered a protip to him: the villagers loved the egg he'd brought down. If he got another one, a rarer one, they'd be all too happy to be more friendly. He just had to survive the trip.
Well, wasn't that just dandy? Dekana was interested in gaining some respect from the villagers and if all they wanted another blasted egg, he'd do it!
The mountain was taller then before but the miasma clouds didn't seem to cling to it so he was of a pleasant mood as he made his way up cliff faces, through tunnels, following an oddly marked trail to the peak of the mountain. The going was swift but the further he got the more he was convinced something was following him... it hadn't attacked yet so maybe it was just curious? He'd keep telling himself that.
At long last he reached the top and the eggs were nestled in among bone and rock and twigs, a positively grisly sight what with the half rotted carcass to the side stinking the place up.

Waving his hand before his nose to try to dissipate the stench, Dekana tried his best to breathe through his mouth. They'd said nothing about corpses... but then again, this was a nest and the babies would need to eat... this was probably a carnivore's hang-out then. Best to be swift about this!
As he approached, however and Sand Crab Minipet came barreling out of the brambles to the side, straight for the eggs. Dekana hollered and ran to intercept, winding up a kick that send the creature flying over the cliff flailing about uselessly. Stupid thing should know better then to mess with him!
He collected the egg, thankfully a little smaller then before, and began his descent.
The cliff edge was narrow but it lead down at a decent angle, enough that he could actually walk without much trouble. However, about halfway down something butted him from behind and nearly sent him over the edge. Crying out as he wobbled, he turned to find a Zombie Deer trying to knock him off for some unknown reason. First a Sand Crab and now a bloody Zombie Deer? It wasn't even moving that fast... he watched it shamble up and press against him, throwing its weight into the push, and he staggered back.
He shook his head and frowned at the thing. It was kind of pathetic... and he wasn't a huge fan of the undead to begin with... and, well, he knew how to deal with this thing too! He waited for it to shamble back up to him and swung a leg, booting its side and kicked it off the cliff too. There! The path was clear.

Breaking into a run, he stumbled just in time to see the Sand Whale breach, jumping high into the air from the ground below and... flop onto the ground, a mess of tree limbs, roots, and other organic ropes tangling up its fins. It lumbered towards him a bit as he gawked at the creature, impressive in size and shape, intimidating in the deep ground-shaking rumble that issued from its breast... but utterly and completely awkward. The Sand Whale was slow, tangled, and generally unimpressive. Dekana was wondering if maybe it was lost when it tilted its head and made a swing for him.
Then again, wondering could get you killed. With a nod, he broke into a swift jog and continued on his way past the bizarre encounter.
Back at base camp, when he finally made it back, there was a Sand Crab Minipet waiting for him... the Sand Crab he'd booted off the mountain top. Again, it made a pass at him and again Dekana kicked it like a football, watching it sail out into the forest and splash into a stream, defeated. Hopefully it wouldn't actually follow him back into the village proper. And Hopefully the villagers would actually appreciate this egg!
