Quote: The local dragonseer (that's a fancy word for someone who rides on a balloon and stares at the fog from above) wants your help in locating potential signs of danger and sand whales. You are to ride the balloon up and take a look. You must first assemble the balloon. Pick any two items from the list below to make the basket of your balloon out of. Rp accordingly: - Snake leather - Thick rope - Flaming carpet - A basket of foxfires - A white cloth - Carved sand whale bone - A net - A table - A door - Five golden rings - A pine tree - A trash can - A really really really really big bottle - Next, to ascend, roll 1d100. This is the number of feet that your balloon launches to the sky. If you roll a 1.. you kind of suck. Maybe you're really bad with balloons. Maybe youre too heavy. Maybe your buddy should get off. Who knows. If your character is lucky and manages to roll above 50 feet, they will get to see the town below them. You notice that the town is shaped like an S. You can also see clearly the town below you. If your character rolls above 80 feet, you end up going too high into the highest miasma clouds. The thin air makes exposure to miasma easily and you gain +5 miasma. As long as you roll over 50 feet you succeed in this venture.

At one time, she seemed to see her meowstache and chased after it. When she looked back, the dark elf she was with was nowhere to be seen. "Mister Ivar?" She hoped he was following but the zero reply suggested otherwise. As a shadow speices, she enjoyed staying at a dark place, but not as open and wide like the village. She felt scared and insecure, without the comfort of her cat, she was pretty useless. That was when someone pulled her at her arm, she screeched and flinched. The so-called dragonseer was startled by her reaction, she blushed and bowed for an apology. They then requested her assistance, saying she look light enough to ride on a balloon. Take the good chance, she asked them for her cat, they persuaded that if she looked from high, she might be able to spot her kitten. They led her to a place piled up with materials and told her to make her own basket as they don't have spares. "Ah?" She never make a balloon basket before, even though she was into art and craft to make small gifts to her friends. How're Tink and Reese now? She thought of the two ghouls she met in the open day of Amityville, they were sweet and nice to her, she kinda missed them. The yelps of the foxfires however stole her attention from the memory, she skittered over to touch them and picked up one to hold in bosom. Arynek rarely smile, because she was always worried or scared, but the foxfires did the magic. Eight We're assembling a balloon together?

"So they dragged you into this as well," came Na'ima's voice when she noticed a young filly hugging a foxfire. She held a net, when told she had to make her own basket for the balloon a net seemed the best of her options. It was the lightest, and she could just tie it up and sit. But she still needed one more thing. "It would be wise to empty that basket before you use it."

The sound from behind startled the cloaked ghoul, she jerked and put the foxfire up to hide her face. Hearing something being dragged, she peeked by moving the foxfire aside for only a sliver of gap, there was a pretty woman in exotic wear, the tinkles of her accessories was pleasant to hear. Arynek lowered the foxfire she used for defense weapon onto her lap. "Hello." She greeted the woman with a small voice, hand waving in the smallest magnitude out of shyness. She then nodded to her question, "But how about them?" She gestured the irresistibly adorable little critters beaming at them, eagerly asking for head patting.

When the ghoul was startled by her she frowned. Really? Someone meant to be an embodiment of fear was skittish? Foolish. She needed to be braver, to pull herself together. "Hello," she greeted, watching her plainly. Na'ima looked back at the foxfires, her brow furrowing. "What about them? They will sit here, on the ground, safe and sound," she supposed, "and we will go into the air. They are too heavy."

Arynek was sensitive, she felt unnecessarily nervous to talk with the woman, the tendrils from her cloak moved recklessly. "I mean...won't they go away and get lost?" The ghoul frowned in dismay, thinking of her lost cat. She missed it, but she didn't see it anywhere. The empathy reflected to the foxfires made her worried about their safety as well. "My cat went missing after the bus crashed," said Arynek.

"...Perhaps." She saw no reason to lie. Na'ima shrugged, walking over and beginning to scoop the foxfires out one by one and gently place them on the ground. "Did it? Well, perhaps we shall see it from the air. However, we cannot do that with a litter of foxfire pups in our basket." Now what would she do? Humming, Na'ima put the net on the ground and then put the basket on top of it. "We will get in and tie the net to the balloon with the basket inside of it, that will protect us from falling out prematurely." That sounded like a fair idea.

From her gentle action, Arynek could tell the woman wasn't a bad creepson. Yet, she couldn't relax herself just because of that. Looking at the adorable foxfires looked upwards to them and waggled their little tails, her heart melted and wanted to put them into her cloak. The problem was she wasn't sure what would happen if she put living things into it. The tendril curled up into a question mark without the dot, "Hopefully...." she nodded to agree to Na'ima's suggestion and helped her to tie the corners of the net to the ropes of the balloon. "Do you think it's secure enough?" She finished her part, turned around and asked.

Oh, that sweet summer scareling. Na'ima gently pushed one aside with the side of her foot when it tried to get in her way, gesturing for Arynek to get in before her. "No," she answered to the ghoul's question, "at least, I do not know for sure. We will soon learn the answer to that question, won't we? That is why I put the net on the outside of the basket, in case the basket is too weak." The balloon was off to a rough start. What was the problem? Na'ima was light, this ghoul seemed light... "I can only imagine how high it would go if we had kept the foxfires." If this was all it would do, how much worse would they have been with those little creatures? Hopefully it was just a slow start...

As if she had said something wrong, the innocent ghoul flustered in embarrassment. "....That's right.....do you think the foxfires are wild or household?" She was still worried about them, it was a bit strange to see a basket of fluffy critters among those what seemed to be useful materials. Arynek was indeed very light, how much a mass of shadow would weigh? She was skittering more than walking if Na'ima noticed. It was a mystery why their balloon elevated that slowly. "I can hide them into my cloak, but - I'm not sure the adverse effect....I never put living things into it." Sitting in the basket, the fingers fiddled around with the fabric of the skirt. The basket's height was slightly above waist when standing, she could peek down easily through the pores of the net. It felt amazing to be afloat in mid-air, away from the ground. One of her Uchitels were an adventurer, once he talked above riding in a big hot balloon and looked down from above, he said it was a different world. "Have you flown in the sky before, Madam?....May I ask about your species....you-you're beautiful." Her face flushed in a rosy pink too obvious on the pale skin tone, continued to speak in a volume matching her shyness. Eight I guess it accumulates until we reaches 50 or above? Na'ima's brow furrowed. This filly was very concerned about those foxfires. But why? "Likely wild, otherwise they would not be found in a pile of junk used to make a balloon basket." She shrugged. And she was still going on about those foxfires. Why. "You needn't worry about them, they will be just fine, like everything else around here." Put them in her cloak? Curious. She eyed the cloak, the temptation to reach out and touch it for inspection growing stronger by the second. She wasn't even looking out at the ground below them at this point, she was more curious about this filly and why she was so.. ...well.. Lucky for the filly her thoughts were pulled away by a question. Na'ima loved questions, especially this one. She smiled. "I have never flown, no.." She took that chance to look down at the village below them, and at the sight of it her eyes widened. Na'ima moved to the edge of the basket, her fingers resting on the netting as she looked down at the village. "What an interesting shape.." Ah, but there was more. Shaking her head, Na'ima turned to the filly again. "I am a horseman of Famine, child. Am I the first you have encountered?" Total: 19 + 42 = 61

The filly wasn't only concerned about foxfires, if there were felines, Na'ima would learn she have a strong inclination towards them among all the fluffy critters. If Arynek was very worried about the poofs after the answer for the first question, she was much relieved after the horseman's reply to her second one. While watching, Na'ima could observe some lively movement of the tendrils from the pale ghoul's cloak, especially they curled up when she flushed in light pink noticing the gaze. The shy ghoul blushed too easily and frequently. Quote: If your character is lucky and manages to roll above 50 feet, they will get to see the town below them. You notice that the town is shaped like an S. You can also see clearly the town below you. "I have never flown as well, it feels like magic." She replied with delights. Hearing her comment, she skittered over near the edge. As a species of shadow, it required the least movement to achieve it. The town inside the fog looked like a sleeping serpent or dragon, the residential structures were as small as toy blocks and the moving citizens were like ants. She wondered if it was possible for her to spot a yellow cat from above. She took a picture to show her Uchitels later when the lady spoke again. Instead of from where pockets supposed to be located, she just put her hand behind her back and a phone was in her hand. The natural head tilt while he mused was the best indicator that Na'ima was indeed the first horseman she encountered. "Yes, Madam. You're right, it's my first time to meet creeple from your clan. It's happy to meet you. Are you living in Halloween Town as well?"

Ah. They were supposed to be looking for sand whales, weren't they. Na'ima looked past the village as best as she could, trying to get a look at anything outside of the town border. A sand whale. Ridiculous. Chuckling to herself, Na'ima shook her head; Wrath would love it. Perhaps if she found one she could find Wrath and they could kill it together. That could be fun, actually. Even her just watching him kill it would be a show. The filly spoke up again and Na'ima turned her attention to her, brow raised. "Not at all. I live in the tower with most other horsemen. I lived in Halloween for a short time," she explained with a face that, for Arynek's sake, was thankfully covered by her veil. A scowl, complete disgust was all she felt toward Halloween on most days. "I did not belong there. I was unable to adapt."

Arynek was fascinated by the scenery, surrounding the village, through the fog, she could make out a lake here, a forest there, and far towards the northern in the outskirts it was covered in white ice. She couldn't help to take a few more pictures for her Uchitels, she was going to tell him she had her mini adventure at an unknown place as well. There, at the habour, she saw someone firing something and something in the sand. A whale? With a tinkling in mind, she recalled what the villagers asked her to do. Oh no, she nearly forgot about it, the experience was so amazing. The ghoul shook her head and made a note of the location she saw sand whales. Here one jumped up, there one leaped and turned, she felt a bit dizzy. She really needed a cat therapy, where's her cat go? qq " Hmm, maybe it is like their species and the sun. They never get used to heat and the sunlight." Musing, she nodded slowly. "A tower?" Her uchitel who was a traveler and organized had lived in different type of accommodation, she wondered if he lived in a tower before. "What do you do normally?" Even veiled, she could take the hint from her voice that she didn't enjoy the town much. As an abnormally pale shadow, she was extremely sensitive to people's emotional change. As a result, she diverted from there and asked something different. Arynek loved stories of different creeple and species, she enjoyed listening them while holding her cat on her laps.

Na'ima nodded. "Yes, a tower. A grand tower that houses every clan of our horsemen, and then some. It was the original home of our people, and now we've reclaimed it." There was a faint smile behind her veil as she recalled home. It wasn't home, the island she grew up in, but it was stable, and it was their's. "Normally I am an alchemist. I make potions, mostly poisons." She looked around. The balloon was slowly losing altitude. It seemed they were running out of time. "And yourself?"
