The villagers must have been pleased with the egg he'd fetched because now they wanted him to go look around at the smaller creatures to see if the Miasma was creeping closer again. He figured it was worth a shot, if for no other reason then to explore the area – he hadn't yet encountered anything that really dissuaded him from walking around.
Thus he was out and about now, walking around the countryside looking for small creatures to inspect. He'd chased a few around but none looked like they were suffering from the Miasma from a distance.... but he hadn't been able to actually catch anything though, so he couldn't be sure.
He wasn't sure how long we was gone when hunger struck him full force and he groaned. Dropping to sit on a low rock, his tail curving around to swish through the brush as he sighed. He was seriously considering just going back – nothing was amiss and he'd been out here for a while now, that had to mean something certainly?
“OUCH!” Dekana jerked upward at the sudden sharp bite on his tail, whipping his tail hard out of the bush to find an evil looking creature hanging off, eyes purple as can be and a bit of dark energy rolling off it. It was growling and, much to his dislike, chewing its teeth deeper into his fles, “STOP!” He whipped his tail again and it let go unwillingly, hitting the ground hard and bouncing once.
He ran over to pounce on it, pinning it to the ground as he looked it over – relatively normal from the back.... he wrestled with it to roll it onto its back, hissing as it tried to bite him, flailing and squirming beneath him. “Would you stop already?”
Of course it didn't listen, snapping and hissing and lashing it tail in anger and aggression. Its eyes were indeed a bright glowing purple, its mouth a slash of blackness across its face and the energy rolling off it alternated between green and purple. The aura it carried was feral, frightening, devoid of emotion save for unbridled rage.
It was bizarre... a lot like the miasma that the villagers had described. Was this what they were looking for?
He lifted it then, kicking and growling, and held it at arm's length as tight as he could and headed back towards the village to double check. If it wasn't what they were looking for, well too bad, maybe he'd drop it into someone's garden or down a chimney in revenge? That was a thought! He hadn't done anything mischievous yet...
Yes, that would be good. They would be getting this critter whether they liked it or not!
