7. The villager seems glum beyond their cloak. They mutter a few words involving the terms 'despair' and 'death'.

Kailani was really beginning to wonder just what the fuss was with all the cloaks. Though she had a feeling that as soon as she learned, she might want on herself... Or something. Oh well... There was probably truth in the old saying of 'Ignorance is Bliss". Ignorance or not though, it was probably better that she start getting some answers around here. Sooner rather then later. Some answers were better then none right????

So she trudged up to the nearest cloaked figure. A sullen looking thing... from what she could tell. Which was amazing since again, everyone seemed to be on a cloak fashion trend around here.

"Hello." She greeted, waving her hand slightly. "I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me?" The figure said nothing. ...Well okay then, Kailani would take that as her chance to continue. "I was wondering if you could tell me about this place? Just where it is we are exactly. What's around here." If anything, she thought to herself. "And uhm, what's with the cloaks if you don't mind my asking?" Again the figure said nothing. Kailani quirked a brow at them. "Anything? Anything you could offer, at all. I would really appreciate it and it would help me more then you could know."

Still nothing.

Frustrated, Kailani growled to herself. "Well... Thanks for that I guess." The young monster muttered. But just as she turned to leave, the hooded figure spoke. "There is nothing... Death... Despair... Nothing." The answers came out quiet and Kai only heard every other word from the figure. But she heard what she'd needed... If one could call that needed. Kai stared at the figure a moment before continuing on her way. Well that wasn't creepy as all heck. Kailani decided it was best to put some distance between herself and her rather sullen acquaintance.
