keepin' cool: Sea of stars, being a kin with a darker coloring, found it harder than most to stay cool. The warmer weather, though nice in the shade, forced him to get creative; he had stayed cool in countless ponds and slow-going streams. The most outrageous method so far was a particularly deep mudhole.

keepin' cool: Tropic Fever didn't mind the heat so much, but this particular summer was hot and he was also in need of medicines for his hut. Most of them, luckily, were underwater in hidden caves with pockets of air, so he dove down frequently, stocking up his hut as best he could. He shook off on the shore, and hummed, thankful there was at least some way, that was still remarkably constructive, to stay cool this year.

keepin' cool: Sigh No More hunkered down more into the cool water in the small pool she'd found. The swamp had been warmer than usual this season and the pool had been a lucky find. She burbled in the water happily, her afternoon certainly looking up.

keepin' cool: The heat of the swamp was too much for Rolling Mist, even with his ghostly pelt he was still suffering under its oppressive weight. Shaking his head in a daze he spotted a gold mine. A muddy bank. Oh thank the motherfather! Trotting in a grand fashion from the sheer excitement of his discovery he flopped himself down and began to roll about. Coating his white pelt in the sticky earth, legs flailing up into the air almost comically until he was completely coated and quite a sight indeed. Just let the sun try to get to him now.

keepin' cool: From Beyond was lucky enough to call a cool, dark, cave home, so heat wasn't much of a thing to worry about. When he did venture out though, he did spend much time laying half in the swamp, half in the muddy banks, resting.

keepin' cool: It's too hot to be too active in the say, so Tangled Web spends the late mornings through the early evening asleep. At night, however, it's cooled off and is the perfect time to tell stories. However, the only one he has to tell them to are the fireflies, because the rest of the swamp is asleep.

Owlsomniac Deep mushroom, crystal grace keepin' cool:Though the den she spends most of her days in tends to keep her cool, this summer the heat seems particularly unbearable. Don't Make a Sound, or Hush, as she prefers, doesn't usually venture out - especially not during the day, but she just can't stand it anymore. She wanders over to a nearby stream, wary of strangers, and finally lets out a sigh of relief as she hunkers down in the cool water.

keepin' cool: Sun Shower had decided she'd had enough of the hot summer sun, and instead went exploring for a cooler spot to settle and cool down. After several trials and error (this flow of water isn't cool enough. this one doesn't have enough shade etc) she finally came across a dim cave that was shaded from the harsh sun. So in she went, and was pleasantly surprised to discover a cool pool of water, a breeze echoing through the cave. This was her just right spot.
