A villager has left a tip about some form of virus happening to the local minipet wildlife. It is up to you to check it out!
Your character must catch one of the local minipets wandering around. Roll 1d10 and see what phrase you get from the list. Then use the minisglossary to pick a pet with that phrase in it (do not pick SE pets or RE ones!)

Once they have caught one, they need to carefully examine it to make sure it has no signs of the virus (the symptoms are possibly purple, evil looking, very vicious) then they can let it go. If however, it is purple or shows possible signs of the virus, they should hand it in to the villager. Roll 1d4 to see what the villager gives you for your time.
1. You get nothing. They take the pet and go away. 2. You get a halfhearted thumbs up. 3. The pet bites you as you near away from it! Ouch! Add +2 to your miasma meter. 4. The villager looks at you. He says "they key to the door is 8888." He leaves.

One of the villagers had mumbled something about the mini pets and Ellinore took that as a sign for her to go and investigate them. Breaking away from the group she spotted a Spooky Tart Eon. "I'm gonna get you..." she whispered as she crouched low to the ground. From what she knew from reading her books about mini pets they didn't like to be grabbed, or at least the wild ones didn't, which would make this fun. She moved slowly towards the Eon but stepped on something, causing it to notice her. "Drats!" she called as the Eon ran off. With a smile she ran off in the same direction. The mists made it hard for her to see, but she wasn't far behind the Eon.
"Slow down! I only want to see if you are okay! Let me help!" she called towards the Eon. The creature quickly climbed up a tree and while it was doing so Ellinore was able to grab it. "Gotcha!" it wiggled in her arms but after a while stopped, tried from all the effort to get away. "It's okay. I won't hurt you. I just want to examine you, and then go tell the locals what I find." she said with a bright smile. She headed back towards the village looking at the Eon as best as she could. It wasn't purple, which was one thing that she was told to look out for, but it was growling. She couldn't really blame it though. If someone had chased her and then was carrying her somewhere she wouldn't be all that happy either. Oh well, at least it wasn't biting her, that would really suck. "Don't worry, I'm bring you to a villager. If you're sick maybe they can fix you, and if not I'm sure they will just tell me to put you right back where I found you." she said to the Eon, trying to calm it down. However her voice seemed to only annoy it more as it growled louder.
Once she reached the village she went up to a villager and held out the Eon. "I caught this mini pet, and it isn't purple or anything but it is growling so I was thinking maybe it could be infected? Is it infected? If it is can you fix it? Will it be okay?" she still wasn't sure what exactly was infecting these mini pets, but maybe the village would tell her as a thanks for being so helpful. The villager just stared at her for a while and Ellinore stared back. Was this some sort of greeting? The way the beings of this village said thanks? If so she wasn't going to be rude and break the gaze. She could stare like the best of them. After a few moments the villager took the Eon and walked away into the mists, not saying a word to her.
"Hey wait up! Aren't you going to tell me what's going on? Is it infected? Is it safe? What's going to happen to it now?" she called towards the villagers back. However the village didn't turn around to answer and was soon lost in the mists. Ellinore sighed. Well so much for finding out more information. That was what she got for being helpful. She looked around for something else to do, maybe she just handed the Eon to the wrong villager. Maybe someone else would tell her more about this strange place if she helped them. With a shrug she headed off into the mists, a look of determination across her face.
