After everything had been said and done, Sy lingered in Tale. The leaf girl hadn't followed the Alkidike's that were being led away to exile. Instead she seemed to find herself close to home. It had been a while since she'd been back. It also made her feel guilty about it. She had to wonder if her twin was upset with her. Rather than go straight there she lingered in the plains, as she used to do before. Finding her favorite spot, a large boulder, the red head took a seat. Of course her two familiar's were with her. Elyam, the scorra, and Drent, the kinfa. Both had become her companions by accident. The baby kinfa usually rode on the back of the scorra since he was so little. Something that always made Syavara smile. "I'm not sure what to do boys. Should I go home and say hi or just leave again?" Normally she was the type that would scurry home to safety, but she'd grown in the time she had been away. She wasn't exactly the same old ball of shy.

Dezani had been traveling to Tale to escort his father home. After everything that had happened, he was still a bit nervous to let his only family go off by himself without anyone traveling with him. He had made sure both he and his equipment had made it back before deciding to head off again with Raiha in tow. The kinfa was a bit frazzled after everything as well, so he was keeping a close eye on her. Coming back along the road, he didn't think he was going to spot someone. There out on a boulder though, he saw a somewhat familiar face with a scorra and a kinfa.

"It seems I was too late to assist you," he called out to the woman, smiling as he made his way closer. There was no mistaking who it was now, and he was pleased to see Syqvara once again. He thought of her as a good friend, and hadn't spotted her during the battle or at any other point so it was nice to know she was okay.

She was busy trying to decide whether or not she wanted to step in and say hello to her family, since she was close to her home village, when Elyam started to fluff up his feathers. Syqvara failed to notice, so when she heard someone call out to her she blinked rapidly and looked up startled. "Oh!" When she figured out who it was she stood up and placed a hand on the Scorra so that she could grab him by the feathers. "Down, Elyam. Behave." When the bird seemed to relax, even if only a little, she let go and smiled at Dezani.

"Completely unintentional, I swear. Elyam followed me around for days before I gave in and I rescued Drent from a house fire." The same fire she thought her friend had perished in. Sy shifted a bit at the topic but switched it instantly. "You're talking!"

"Oh! Uh yes. I've been getting a bit better," he chuckled, blushing as he scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. "Still not exactly the most talkative, but I'm trying. I've got to get better so I can start training Raiha." He motioned to the kinfa fluttering about, who in turn squawked and landed close to Syqvara.

"One day I'll get to ride her, but not for a while. So for now it's teaching her small tricks and such and getting her to help my father sometimes."

She grinned up at him as he mentioned that he wasn't all that talkative. "I'm glad you're talking." Sy didn't mind if Dezani wanted to write in his journal but it was nice to hear his voice.

When the kinfa landed close to her she smiled at it. "Hello there." Syqvara gave a wiggle of her fingers in greeting. "She's beautiful Dezani." Lifting her gaze back up to her friend she couldn't keep the smile off her face. "Where did you get her?" Sy was happy to see a familiar face after all that had happened to her.

"I rescued her from a trap. Poor girl saw something she liked and got trapped instead. Luckily her foot is doing better now though. You can barely see the scar," he explained, patting the little bird on the head. "A lot has happened since our last visit it seems." They had both grown up since their last visit and decided what they wanted to do with their lives. He'd been traveling around, and it seemed Sy was too. They'd done a lot in the short time and he was glad to see she was still okay. With the war he had worried about her, and seeing her in one piece eased his worry.

Sy tried to see if she could spot the scar on the bird's leg. Knowing that her friend had saved the poor thing meant that she had gotten the best care. "You did a wonderful job." When he mentioned that a lot had happened she nodded her head in agreement. That was a very true statement. A lot had transpired in her life and she was certain the same had happened to his. With a smile she shoved her hair behind her ear. "I did miss my friends and being home, though now that I am here I don't know what to do." After all one of the reasons she had gotten up the courage to leave was so that she could see Jauhar and collect things for a boy she fancied. Syqvara knew that he had been there at the battle but she must have just missed him. "Tell me about your adventures Dezani." She prompted gently. Sy wanted to know about his journey.

"Oh uh, are you really sure you want to hear about me? I promise it's not that exciting," he blushed, idly brushing his fingers over his kinfa's feathers as he thought of what to say about his journey so far. He had told her about Raiha, so there was that. He could maybe tell her about Araie, but he doubted she'd want to hear about the girl he fancied.

"Ah!" he exclaimed, finally figuring out what he could tell her about. "I could potentially tell you about how I stood up to my father. Or....or maybe about what I did during the war? Would either of those work?"

"What? Of course I wanna know. I haven't seen you in a while." Sy chuckled as she eyed her friend. The silly goose really thought she wouldn't wanna know? She watched as he thought things over and even gave a soft giggle, but when he gave her ideas of stories to hear she nodded. "Oh? You stood up to your father? How did that go?" There was a grimace on her face as she asked, not wanting to hear that her friend had been yelled at or something. Syqvara didn't think Dezani deserved that. He was much too sweet for something so mean.

"It actually went better than I thought it was going to go. There was a lot of frustration, but eventually he listened to me and accepted what I was trying to say. Since then we've been on pretty good terms. I've been helping him out with his work whenever he needs it, but I still get to travel and do my own thing whenever I need to," he finished explaining, stretching as he did so. He never really knew what to say when it came to him. He was a bit awkward to begin with, and talking about himself made him even more so.

"Your turn. I'd like to hear about what you've been up to!"

She was thrilled to hear that things had gone so well for him. Syqvara chuckled and shook her head. "I'm proud of you, Dezani. That's great." Knowing that her friend now could enjoy a bit of freedom made her day.

Upon being asked about her adventures she brought a finger up to tap at her mouth as she thought. "Well, I was in a burning inn and had to escape out a window." Which was likely the single most exciting thing she'd ever done. Terrifying, but exciting at the same time. "And I passed out on the battlefield.." Sy turned a bit red in the cheeks there but she brought her hand away from her mouth and gave a nervous laugh. "Nothing all that great I guess."

"What?? That is pretty great! You escaped out of a burning building! Most would not be calm enough to do that. Did you have help? Or were you all by yourself? You didn't get burned did you?" he questioned, shifting to take a look at her. She didn't look burnt or anything. Never mind the fact that this probably happened a while ago. If there was anything wrong he could always go and take her to a healer.

"As for passing out on the battlefield, that isn't all bad. Did you fight valiantly during it?"

Her blush deepened. Sy rubbed at one arm and looked at the ground. "I wasn't all that calm.. I was staying there with a friend and I couldn't get out of my room to find him." Now she turned her head away before clearing her throat. "I had help getting down. Some big shifter guy carried me down since I was a crying mess." Some bravery that was. Still she looked back at him and smiled. "That's also how I ended up with Drent here." Sy motioned to the baby kinfa at her side.

Even if Dezani looked he'd not find any signs of a burn. Syqvara had been far enough away from the flames to avoid such an injury. It was only the smoke that had damaged her. "I tried to. I'm not much use in a fight it seems." Sy still had to get over the no violence way of thinking before she could really be any threat to anyone.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 06, 2016 8:13 pm

"Hey, it's okay," Dezani tried to reassure her, patting her arm a little helplessly. He was never really the best at comforting people and felt bad for not being able to help now. "Drent seems like a wonderful kinfa too. So not all is bad." He just really hoped her friend was okay. He wanted to ask, but also feared the answer to the question would bring her down even more. That was not something he wanted.

"I'm still not exactly the best fighter myself. I don't like harming others. Well unless they harm people close to me first."

Even though she knew that her friend was trying to make her feel better she couldn't get rid of the guilt that ate at her sometimes. "Oh, I don't like fighting. Mostly my magic is just to keep threats away." Like the wind she could push people away with. Sy was a very passive person. She did have a slightly more dangerous spell but oddly she didn't use it to hurt people.

"Oh Drent is a cuddler. He loves the attention." She chuckled.
