Life with his father was interesting, really interesting. He'd never say it wasn't, 'cause that wouldn't be true! He really loved his father. And he had a lot of family members, too. They were fun. Sometimes they made silly faces. And they'd teach him interesting stuff, too. It was interesting! And his twin brother was his best friend. They did everything together. They both loved their father. They were a lot alike! It was funny. But their dad could always tell them apart even with his eyes closed! He was cool. Life with them was fun...
It was...
CC looked down from the branch he was teetering on. He liked to play balancing games, especially at night when he couldn't sleep, like now. His wings were big (maybe too big), but that made the games more fun. Everyone was asleep, so he had to be quiet or else he'd get in trouble. Getting in trouble made his stomach feel cold. So he had wandered a little bit away, so they wouldn't be able to see or hear him. He was smart. They all thought he was smart. They said he was interesting. CC frowned. It's not that he wasn't happy about it, but...
Wobbling heavily to the right, the foals wings flapped wildly in an attempt to steady himself, and he managed to stay on the branch. With a little smile of accomplishment, he took a step forward onto a thinner part of the branch. It was funner the closer to the edge you got. You'd start to fall. And even though there were fireflies everywhere, they're too scared of being squashed so they won't form a blanket to catch you! He had to be careful. But it was funner that way. Everything was fun! He wasn't thinking it wasn't...
...But...he couldn't help it...he couldn't help wondering about if he had a mother...he couldn't help wanting to look for her...everyone had a mother except him...so he knew he had a mother out there somewhere...but if he said he wanted to look for her, he was afraid everyone would think he didn't love them...but he did! It was just...just...
A patch of clouds floated in front of the moon, blocking its light and shading everything below, including CC on his perch. His eyes grew to saucers as he stared up at them. His wings pulled themselves a few inches closer to his body, as if they were the ones afraid. The dark was really...dark. His claws scraped lightly against the bark of the branch and he pointed his nose down. The ground was really far...
Maybe...
...He couldn't get down...?
CC swallowed and narrowed his eyes rebelliously.
He wasn't scared!
But...maybe the fireflies would change their minds...?

((Lat Teepee Here))
If there was a way to get better at sleeping, Teleri Lindai was sorely in need of learning it. The white tri-winged filly was notorious for staying up late or waking early, restless and curious. As matters stood, when she did wake she couldn't stand to sit restlessly in the nest as her sisters and mother slept on. Instead, she went in search of things to learn and do and see. If it was early she sought out some of the hunters in the Flock that would tell her a story or two, or perhaps her aunt to teach her a song or a dance... Or she'd go map the stars, find a high place to watch the sunrise from, practice her dance steps... There was always something for her to do.
Of course, it wasn't always within the Herd lands. Spending all her time in the FlockLands could get a little boring, so here and there she went for a walk. Or a bit of a flight, if she could manage it. Tonight's quick flight had settled her down outside a forest that begged for a bit of exploring, though it was a shame she hadn't brought her pouch, she would have been glad to hunt for mushrooms or herbs. 'Something about two birds? Oh well, better plans for next time...'
"Nothing for it now, might as well see what I can find." She grinned, and skipped into the treeline with a frisking step and wide eyes. Head craning this way and that, the filly admired the thick trunks of surrounding trees, the fall of moss dripping from branches, and the presence of mushrooms and fungus growing in the leaf litter.
"Chanterelle... Morel... Sulfur Shelf mushrooms on that tree there." She admired as she paced along. "Wild onions. honeysuckle vine... Not to mention there are probably loads of roots... I bet that means there are wild herbs too! I'm definitely going to have to come back here with a gather pouch."
Hesitating for a moment, the white filly beamed to herself, tail swishing in pleasure. 'I can't wait to tell Miela! Maybe she can come with me next time to go gathering...'
Dragged out of her musings by a sound, Teleri paced to a nearby tree and glanced up the trunk. Branches spiraled up the trunk, most of them large enough that she could probably manage a perch if she was so inclined. Still, she flittered a bit to one side, trying to figure out what was making the noise. With a few more steps and a crane of her head, Teleri blinked rapidly at the sudden presence of another figure in the branches above.
It looked to be a colt, about her age with large wings. They were strange, not feathered like she was most familiar with... But not quite membranous in the way her second pair of wings were. Very stranger indeed. "Umm... What are you doing up there?"

The sound of another voice startled the colt into a mad flurry of scraping claws and flying bark chips. Seizing his balance, CC only started breathing again after he was completely sure he wasn't going to fall.
Looking rather like a wet cat, he swallowed and glanced down, glowing eyes finding the little ghostly figure below. From an adult's perspective the height of the branch he was in was not at all high, but to the foal it was at least as high as five stallions standing on each other's shoulders. The filly below looked miles away. But then sometimes she looked...closer...? He felt dizzy...
Since it was a filly and not an adult, he didn't feel as shy...but since it was a girl, he felt more shy...? Weird, weird, weird...
CC swallowed again and noticeably avoided too much eye contact.
"Um, a...game," came the tiny reply. Looking away made him start losing balance again, so he quickly stared back at the branch, very much aware of the pair of eyes on him.

Watching the stranger flail about on his branch, Teleri almost felt bad for startling the other foal... For he certainly seemed alarmed indeed, if the scratching noises and flapping limbs were any point to judge by. Dodging the rain of twigs and bark chips and the occasional leaf, the filly stepped back slightly to consider him. What a strange thing to be doing in the middle of the night, really. Did he dream he was a squirrel and climb up there before waking up suddenly? Did that sort of thing happened when you lived in the woods?
"Are you trapped up there?" She wondered. "Do I need to fetch someone?"
He seemed to look down at her for an awfully long time, until Teleri wasn't sure if he could see at all or if maybe he was trying to set her on fire with some latent glaring magic. Since he was so far away and it was rather dark, it was hard for her to tell. Still, after what seemed like forever he spoke, though his voice was soft and distant. He wasn't that high up, really!
"A game..." She echoed dubiously, tilting her head and narrowing her eyes at him. "Alright... Fine then. What game is it? How do you play? What are the rules? Can I play? Are you winning?"
Teleri frowned, giving a swish of her short tail and snorting softly. "It doesn't look like you're winning..."
... "It doesn't even look like you're having fun."
