The Dragon Games were a massive multi-week event, featuring games, music, and competitions that everyone was welcome to participate in. For those without dragons or whers or flits, there were games of skill or luck sized for a human – knocking over flasks with a ball, dropping metal discs into glass jars... there were several options for people to try their hand at.

Among the crowds mingled the general Rider populace as well as the Weyr's leadership, encouraged by the Weyrwoman and the Weyrleader to connect with their flock. Conversation was abundant and children ran around laughing or playing Rogue Hunters.

It was a sight to behold as the Relay's final week rolled through. The majority of the Weyr turned out on the final day to see the placement of the Wings. It was a tough competition this year and the competitors were clearly anxious to make first.

Thankfully the skies had been clear and the calls to fight Thread had hit them hard last week, the ones injured had not been among those required to compete still. And the Rogue Queens had not shown their faces – an odd occurrence, these competitions usually drew out at least a few from their unjust den.

NOTES:
> This ORP Will Open after the Relay Race completes.
> This ORP Occurs the LAST DAY of the Relay Race ICly
> Those of you who wish their human character to win/earn a prize from the festival may do so – it must be something small and not worth more then 2 Marks. Acceptable items include simple jewelry, hair pins, gloves, simple dress, simple cups, cutlery, candle holder, and flasks.

“Tris! Bring that back!” She said as the brown snatched up one of the meatrolls she had graciously piled upon her plate and with a chatter disappeared between. She wondered what had gotten into him lately. Maybe he had found someone? She shrugged her shoulders and proceeded over towards the Competition field that was now harboring dragons and their riders for the Meet the Dragons. Her blue stood out magnificently in the field and she smiled as she approached her glistening dragon. She had taken much time and care into oiling him today. She had actually awoken far earlier than usual and by the time she had finished ensuring he was good, Rukbat was already risen and it was almost noon.

She adjusted her knot slightly as she arrived beside her dragon and then proceeded to stuff a meatroll in her mouth. It wasn’t very lady like but she was hungry and didn’t care at the moment. Plus no one was watching. ’You know Mine, that isn’t very becoming. How on earth are we supposed to attract anyone at all when you’re acting like a herdbeast stuffing its face.’ ‘Hey now. I don’t look that bad! Besides, there are lots of vendors here and many of the weyr folk are browsing the goods. And if they do come over here, they’re going to be focused on your glistening hide and not me.’ She said as she took a bite of another roll and looked at him defiantly. Of course they both knew she wasn’t serious, but it was still humorous.

Her brown hair was pulled back in a braid today and she had tucked the ends up into a sort of a bun behind her neck. It was getting long, perhaps she should cut it. She then decided against it and figured she’d just go check out some of the vendors later and see what kind of hair ornaments they had for sale. Maybe she could find something to decorate Reciproths saddle. ’You are not going to make my saddle resemble some fancy runner beast are you? I hope you are not. I’m not an ornament.’ ‘Oh please. You know I wouldn’t do that to you. It wouldn’t be anything like that. Just something to brand the leather with perhaps or even something to adorn the leather so I know someone won’t have the right mind to steal it from us. You know just as well as I that my leather working is pretty good. I should have set up a vendor and sold some things.’ She said glaring at him slightly for intruding on her like that. She then gave him a wink and returned her attention to the competition grounds. She wondered if any of the riders and their dragons from the clutch she had impressed from where nearby.

"Ooo Meatrolls." Another meatroll was mysteriously abducted from the blue rider's plate if she wasn't quick enough. K'gan stood in all his weyr splendor, full uniform and the knot of his simple rank and dragon colour displayed on his shoulder. Even the usually scruffy childish K'gan had made some sort of effort for the final day of the games, his hair was neatly brushed (surely a sign of the end times) and there were no holes in his clothes, but that didn't mean his manners were any better than usual.

Unfortunately for Naressa they had been weyrlings at the same time and had ended up in the same wing which made them friends in K'gan's head, if not family. Thus she was perfectly fair game for food theft. if successful K'gan quickly took a large bite out of the treat before she could reclaim it. "Reciproth's looking good today." He started, a ploy to sweeten the women to his presence before she could get it in her mind to hit him. "And you as well of course." he added with a flirtatious wink. He was truly hopeless. There was a brief pause in the conversation as K'gan lifted his head to track the movements of an approaching dark shape.

The slim, elegant and equally troublesome black dragon who was partnered to the rider soon joined him. Trekth had been busy soaking in the admiration from the visitors. Though it was true most of the main awe was directed at the larger dragon sizes Trekth had been able to enjoy some more willing contact as the beast was somewhat less intimidating. "food?" He enquired leaning his head down for a companionable eye ridge scratch. "Yep." K'gan answered aloud. "Naressa is treating us."

Was he clutch 4 as well? If so it was 7 turns ago XD either that or I cannot add. :3 Do you have aim? Anupama2006 is mine, we can back plot if you want.

'Trekth, it pleases me to see that you and yours are in Dauntless as well. You're a good flyer, we need that.' He said as the blacks rider approached. Unlike humans, he had the ability to converse from farther distances to whomever he so choose. He was well aware of the meatroll being stolen from her plate and he was glad. Naressa on the other hand was completely unaware. "Hey! I worked hard for those!" She said turning her head to look at whom had stolen one of her delicious treats. Her scorn quickly turned into a smile and she shielded her eyes in jest, "Oh, I cannot bear to look upon the mighty glory that is the Black Rider K'gan." She laughed and turned her plate away so as to prevent further stealing of her food. 'Let him take them, it will prevent any further embarrassment from you and your eating habits.' His stern voice was in her mind and she glared up at him approvingly. 'MY eating habits? Last I checked yours weren't any better.' She said amused.

She heard K'gan say something about Reciproth and she turned her gaze back to her weyrmate. "Isn't he? I'm quite pleased with how well he looks today." She looked up to see his black dragon approaching and she looked back at K'gan as he attempted to compliment her too. "Oh hush. We all know I look about as good as a sack full of Mrreows just fished from the river howling up a storm." She said with a laugh. She watched as the Large black head of Trekth was suddenly engulfing their space as he wanted his rider to rub his eye ridges. "Oh am I now? I don't think I have enough here to feed myself, let alone you AND your dragon." She said punching him lightly on the shoulder.

"You were in the relay weren't you?" She asked trying to remember. She was pretty certain he had gone before the order had gotten messed up because someone had decided to be a day late. But it didn't matter. What was done, was done. "Did you and Trekth have fun with any of the other events as well? Reciproth did an amazing job on the agility course! And Tris did a great job as well." She said very pleased with her Flit and her dragon. 'How have you been brother? I feel like these two haven't spoken to each other in a while and are about to get caught up.' He said to the other directly. Their bonded could have their discussion while they had theirs.

Well, I won Trekth in the Newbie event but I had him pegged in my mind for clutch 3, however it could be either. Plus, either way they would have been wyrlings at about the same time. Also I added you on AIM. ^^

K'gan groaned and automatically put a hand through his hair trying to reclaim some of his usual wild curls and windswept bed head style. "I know, I know." he replied morsley. "But our dear wingleader made some physical threats against my manhood if I didn't change into my best, or I did anything to show up the wing." he told her. "As if I would?" The very thought was absurd...really....stop laughing!
Trekth had always been a compassionate and giving dragon but that didn't make him immune to compliments and he glowed pleasure at the blue's prazie.

"Yes, I am happy to be in Dauntless as well where we can assist in fighting the gold rouges. But I remember your skill in thread training and I would always have you at my back when the need arises to flame."

K'gan meanwhile quickly recovered from his momentary pout and was instantly denying Naressa's words. "Honestly Ness, you still look better than me and I had to work at it." he told her, half teasing tone still in play before she punched him in the arm and he naturally was forced to make a great show of the 'intense' pain. "Ow, How could you Ness? So cruel. I bruise like a baby you know." He sniffed. "Wellllll, now you can't be mad at me when I do this." he stated before leaning forward and kissing her on the cheek. Just a peck and it was well known the black rider was a shameless flirt with just about anyone but that didn't mean that it wasn't meant with the purest of intent. "Told you, you looked pretty." he repeated before taking a step back to avoid another possible thump on his arm.

I do not know how long it will last. My rider can be very forward with other people. A lot chase him away. But he would not be so true to himself if he did not act on impulse like he does.
Trekth told the blue with warm affection colouring his tone as he spoke of his rider. The black was always the first in line to encourage K'gan to do as he wished, regardless of their reckless nature.

K'gan quickly stepped back into more comfortable area's of conversation. "But yea, me and Trekth were in the relay, we took an early knock but I think we got a decent time in the end. We tried the blind bonded game, that was wort of hit and miss, it's the first time we have done anything like that but it was good fun. I hope to get in on the agility course but last time I checked there was a line and I don't know if there will be time for me to before it closes."

For the gather celebrations Kleos had opted for a white silk shirt bearing her knots along with close fitted sandy-coloured britches and knee height supple black leather boots. Though her mind was somewhat elsewhere she knew the importance of appearances and so she'd taken some care over the choice and had even smoothed back her short pale hair with scented pomade. Once dressed and out of her weyr for the day however her mind wandered again to what had been preoccupying her for... well, since the Dragon Games had begun really but especially since their little slip in the relay. She knew that certain other wingleaders were going to be very happy to bring that one up until this time next turn, and it would be all she could do not to challenge the cads to honour duels to silence their sneering.

Dauntless had flown well - very well indeed - she knew that much, but she didn't know if it would be enough to win the day especially with the penalty that would be applied to them for flying out of order. Kleos' lips pursed together slightly as she wandered through the festivities, she hadn't yet had a chance to speak to Kalendol but when she did there would be Words. She was only glad that Ralla had been ready to fly, taking a penalty for a smooth hand over to the wrong person was better than the embarrassment of scrambling around to find the person who ought to be flying and losing time that way anyway.

Anyway it was best not thought about for now, there was nothing she could do about it and the announcement of this turn's champions would soon take away the agony of waiting. If they managed to place in the top three, even the top five considering the mishap then that would be a performance for her wing and herself to be proud of.

Speaking of Dauntless there were two of her riders! Kleos' frown lifted to be replaced with a smile as she picked her way through the crowd towards the two dragons and their riders. "K'gan, Naressa, hail!" Oh, she wasn't interrupting something was she?... Well if she was she could move on after pleasantries and no harm done.

She watched as he tried to regain some of his true self by ruffling up his hair. She giggled, "It's too late my dear friend. The damage has already been done." She gave him a coy smile and then her giggled turned into laughter at his words. "Oh he did, did he?" She said crossing her arms over her chest, her plate of meat rolls, or what was left of them at any rate, still in one hand.

'I appreciate the comment." He said feeling quite pleased that his skill was noticed. He didn't boast, but he did like compliments every now and again. "I think your bonded is about to dig his grave." He said amusingly to Trekth as he gazed down at the scene that was unfolding.

She couldn't help but laugh as he feigned being hurt and then she got a slightly confused look on her face as he gave her a peck on the cheek. She froze and turned and gave him a narrow eyed look. "You didn't..." She said calmly raising an eyebrow and then gave him a light shove with a laugh. "You're lucky I don't deck you." She said with a shake of her head. If it had been anyone else, she most certainly would have. But being who it was, she had accepted it as part of who he was.

'I doubt K'gan has anything to worry about. Naressa enjoys his company, much more than others." He said turning his gaze towards the wingleader as she was approaching. He looked down at his rider for a moment and figured they'd find out soon enough that she would be there.

"I'm glad you both did well, Reciproth and I fared really good. Had to make up some for the points we lost when Ralla had to go out of turn." She said frowning slightly as she recalled the moment. Oh well. "You definitly should get him in the agility contest. I'm sure you'll both do great! And you should have seen us in the bonded course. We did HORRIBLE." She could hear reciproth scoff slightly at her words as she was implying the last part to him.

Her attention turned towards Kleos as she appeared and she waved over at her. "Hail Kleos. You looks particularly well dressed today." She said complimenting her on her choice of clothing.

He does that alot. Trekth observed, though it didn't sound like the black dragon considered it a bad thing. It added colour to their lives. But he is also very good at climbing out again. I think people find him to much fun to stay angry with.

K'gan held up his hands in mute surrender at the threat. "And I have no doubt that you could my dear, so it's a good thing that I'm faster than you. At least I was last time we raced. I'm up for a rematch any time you want." He promised hopefully. The black rider could never pass up a challenge.

We should all race. I would love to test my speed against you Reciproth. The black cut in, having been eavesdropping throughout the conversation of the the two riders.

K'gan was ready to assure the women that he was quite sure she hadn't done as badly as she thought when Kleos made the scene. He froze, blanched and turned to face the wingleader. "Hail Wingleader. Is something I can do for you this fine day?" K'gan asked, resisting the urge to edge behind the protection of Naressa's frame. Since his most common face to face interaction with Kleos were to be punished for his latest transgression it was an automatic response to seek out mentally what he could have done this time.

K'gan, the agility course has become clear. Filoth has summoned us if we wish to take part.

K'gan looked up at his dragon and nodded. "Though perhaps I can help you in a few minutes. Looks like we're up on the dragon agility." he bowed his head slightly. "Wingleader. I'll see you later Ness." He promised, moving off with Trekth at his side.

"Thank you Naressa," Kleos replied with a slight bow and a small smile, "you look quite beautiful yourself. K'gan," she inclined her head slightly to the blackrider, who was more trouble than a box of tunnelsnakes but had flown well in the relay and thus was not currently in line for a dressing down. It did not however especially surprise her when he announced he was leaving. "Ah? Well good luck then and well flown in the relay, you and Trekth should be proud of that performance. As should you and Reciproth be proud of yours," Kleos continued, turning to Naressa with a nod. "The results will be announced soon enough, I for one will be glad when the waiting is over."

Well, she'd driven off Naressa's conversation partner, and she felt rather bad about that. "Ah... Are you going to watch Trekth with K'gan?" There, if Naressa wanted to leave now she could do so without feeling awkward.... Or at least so Kleos hoped, after all the hard work she knew her riders had put into the relay - and all the other events they'd put themselves forward for - they deserved a chance to kick back and celebrate without feeling the need to stand on ceremony with their boring wingleader.

<> Moriath said to her rider with a mental snort.

<> Kleos replied with a mental shrug, <have to spend time with me just because I came over to them.>>

When there was a celebration on A'nos usually wore Harper blue somewhere about his person. Today it was his jerkin - complete with rank knots - worn over white shirt and white britches with black boots that came up just over his knees. It had been a rather good set of Games he felt and having played a part in the organisation he was rather proud of that fact. There were a few results still to be announced of course but in the meantime he was taking the opportunity to indulge in a goblet of wine and a plate of fruits covered with crystallised sugar. No doubt there would be dignitaries to be politicked before too long but right now he was free to wander and enjoy the festive atmosphere, the smells of food and the cries of the traders as those not resident in Trine tried to sell the last of their wares. By tomorrow they would be packing up to leave and that would probably be a headache of broken wagon wheels, of he did this and she took than or they promised the other, and all of that would be partially his problem....

But that was tomorrow, and he refused to allow its shadow to make today gloomy.

Peched up on A'nos' shoulder - the one without the knots - Symphony watched the world go by with interest, occasionally bobbing her head and chirping at other firelizards as they passed by. This was a good day, everything was relaxed and happy and she wasn't being asked to do anything right now so she could just sit and enjoy her master's company. A very happy day indeed!

Out on the edge of the festivities Acriculeth sat watching the bustle of people, calm blue eyes scanning for anything of particular interest.

We should totally do a race thread. We can roll some dice :3 I can set one up if you like

He is very lucky. He said watching the riders as they talked to one another. His gaze turned towards Trekth and he was very pleased with the request. I think it would be an honor to race with you. Naressa could feel his change of mood and looked up towards the to dragons behind them.

She returned her attention towards K'gan as he reacted towards Kleos approach and then hailed a farewell as they were summoned to the agility course. What perfect timing, she couldn't help but chuckle. "Fly well." She said to the black as the two of them walked away.

"Thank you for the praise. We just did what we could for the wing." She said and she wondered what the results were going to be. She knew it was probably going to be a close match in the end. "Actually I was thinking about checking out some of the vendors and meeting some of the hold folk." She was honestly excited that these events were drawing to a close. 'Oh mine. You know you're going to miss the freedom we've been having lately.' 'Maybe a little. I am excited for this to be done with though.'

"How are you doing today? Are you excited to hear the final results of the games?" She remembered she had one meatroll left and picked up the plate. "Would you like it?" Everyone else had already robbed her of them, might as well offer to give up the last one.

XD Sorry, me too!

"I am!" Kleos replied with a smile, accepting the meatroll with a nod of thanks. "I believe we performed well on the relay but... well we can only wait and see what the results are, it's always a tense time." Much as she was angry with Kalendol she wasn't going to speak ill of her - or even mention the incident - in a private social setting with another member of the wing, it would simply be vulgar and unprofessional of her. It was a matter to be dealt with in private and if it was to be discussed elsewhere it would not be in idle passing of the day.

"And yourself? Did you enter many of the other events?" she asked before taking a nibble of the meatroll and adding; "Mmh, these are very fine, where did you come upon them?" Most of the food was good at events such as this but the meatroll Naressa had proffered was exceptional.

"I'm sure it was a close match." She said thinking about the events of the race but saying nothing else. She had been the rider that Kalendol had ended up passing the baton off to since she had shown up late, but it had worked out in the end. Her and Reciproth had flown hard and well.

"OH yes. We entered the bonded obstacle course, Reciproth did marvelous in the Agility course and then my Tris did well in the firelizard showing." She said not really wanting to talk about how horrible they did on the obstacle course. "What about you?" She asked wondering if Kloes and hers had entered any as well.

"Oh? Well, I made them before coming over here. I figured they would be out of most of the good stuff here so I brought some just in case." She said pleased that her wing leader enjoyed them.
