She was chasing a youma through the park when it veered and went crashing into the underbush. Iphigenia followed, but the youma had the lead. She could feel only the slithering feeling of chaos pulse here and there, and the sound of foliage and forest matter snap beneath its feet. The senshi followed as best she could, unwilling to let her quarry slip away. As the undergrowth started to thin, Iphigenia felt a pulsing Knight aura.

Since meeting Camelot, Iphigenia had become increasingly aware of the Knight auras around her. Before, she'd avoided them or ignored them. Partly because she didn't know what they were, but also partly because she didn't really like meeting others. But now, she chased the youma straight towards it - hoping that the "ally" on the other side would help her catch it in a pincer. Iphigenia emerged from the underbrush and saw the green-clad man. The youma was going to pass him on his left at this point. She shouted and hoped he would react in time.

"Hey, you!" It was the only thing she managed to shout before the world went upside down.

I hope this is okay! Please let me know if you want anything changed.

Valhalla did not sense the senshi, nor did he realize the youma was rushing towards him until he could hear it in the leaves. He knew it was dangerous going out as he was, but he could not sit idly by and hope that maybe he would get better if he watched enough television or absorbed himself in all kinds of pointless hobbies. He could hear whoever, or whatever it was, but by the time he turned around, the youma was already barreling past him.

He’d aimed the compass towards the creature, but as his weapon had before in the past couple weeks, the magic rebounded and shot off in another direction, hitting the other coming towards him. In his panic, Valhalla dropped the compass, which swung down and against the side of his leg, shooting out sparks of green, residual magic as he rushed over to the senshi. The youma was probably still around, but he had no way of telling where it was.

“s**t, are you okay??” he groaned, knowing which magic he’d been attempting to use on the youma and reached out to grab onto her shoulders. “Sorry… It should pass soon,” he tried to reassure her, the concern and guilt clear in his voice. It may seem strange to grab onto someone he didn’t even know, but if she was going through the sensation he could only assume she was experiencing, she could probably do with all the stability he could offer.

The youma ran straight past him. There was a flash of gold metal. The shout of indignation died in her throat when she was slammed with a bolt of green magic.

The world spun around her. I need to move, she thought. Iphigenia willed her leg to move, but felt nothing. She stumbled to the side and would have hit the ground if the same knight hadn't caught her. Iphigenia wanted to snap at his incompetence, wanted to push his hand off her shoulder and stomp on his feet in petty anger. Her body managed none of it. She raised her head to shout, and felt as if she was in free fall. Her stomach lurched upwards and she had the sudden urge to vomit.

All in all, it was a horrid sensation. She slumped forward against him in a desperate search for something solid.

Soon, he said. Not soon enough, she thought.

"What the heck, was all she could manage. And then, a threat, shakily uttered, " I'm going to kill you."

There was nothing for Iphigenia to do but wait it out.

”Fair enough, but let’s get you to safety, first,” he said as he looked around to try and see where the youma had run off to. “Can you sense it close by? Try closing your eyes,” he suggested but whether it was for sensing the youma or overcoming the magic, he didn’t specify. Instead, he bent down so he could hoist one of her arms over his shoulders for the time being. It would be easier to move her that way if necessary as she waited out the wave of vertigo.

He didn’t have to wait long until the youma came back, lunging at them from the trees. “Kyrie!” he called, reaching down with his free hand to grab onto the pocketwatch by his side.

But nothing happened.

A moment too late he remembered that Ganymede told him how Laurelite struck his eagle down with her scythe. Valkyrie had yet to return, if she ever would.

Plan B was to release his hold on the senshi, shoving her into the bushes, and hopefully to safety, as he blocked the bite of the youma with the bracer on his forearm. “S-s**t,” he hissed as the creature bit down on his thankfully padded arm brace, but it didn’t look like it was going to give up after just a bite. Valhalla gave it a quick kick before it could try to rip his arm off, and it started back into the trees. “You okay?” he called to the senshi, checking the puncture holes in the metal and leather, hoping his arm wasn’t too damaged underneath. There was some blood, but nothing seemed broken at least.

He hauled her up and she felt like vomiting. She closed her eyes, reached out for any vestige of the youma's energy, and felt like falling. Just when it couldn't get any worse - between the vertigo and the acute sense of shame and uselessness she was feeling - the man shoved her straight into the bushes at the side of the park. The youma had reappeared, apparently deciding that they were fitting targets.

Well, she didn't really blame him. So far this man, who by all rights should have been strong (his aura had pulsed like a beacon, after all) had proved anything but such. His scream called forth nothing. If she were a youma, she'd probably attack him too.

She felt the bushes snap and bend under her weight. Out of the forest. Back into the forest. The twigs and branches scratched against her exposed skin. She hoped they drew blood. She really, really did.

Luckily, the knight's magic seemed to have run out by the time she pulled herself out of the undergrowth. Unluckily, the youma seemed to have removed itself from the knight. She wanted to throttle him first for hitting her with his magic, and then for throwing her around like a sac of flour, and then for letting the youma get away, and then because her pride demanded it.

There were more important things at hand though, she knew that.

"First the youma," she said flatly, "you lead the way, you saw which way it went right?" Normally she might have suggested a pincer attack, but Iphigenia frankly had no desire to be hit by another wayward bolt of magic.

Then you. Then I am gonna beat you black and blue and shove my magic down your throat.

Guine

Valhalla hesitated when the senshi drew herself back up from the bushes, wincing guiltily when she asked which direction the youma went. “I… didn’t actually see,” he admitted sheepishly. He was too busy trying to make sure it wasn’t about to attack her once it released itself from him to watch which way it decided to go.

Luckily for him, it didn’t take long for the youma to circle back around. And while Valhalla couldn’t feel it, he could at least hear its approach. “Careful, it already bit through my armor,” he warned, reaching down to grab a fallen tree branch to use when it launched itself into the small clearing. Once it was in range, Valhalla swung as hard as he could. He might only be a pitcher, but he’d been working hard to improve his batting average.

Or at least the last he remembered, he was working hard to improve his batting average.

Hopefully with it stunned, the senshi would have a chance to finish it off without any other incident and they could all go home without her needing to murder him for his wayward magic.
