Megumi was born inside of Iwagakure and has lived there all her life. She hasn’t had a very exciting child-hood as her parents are both still alive and she’s not some shinobi war-orphan. Megumi didn’t really get proper training to become a Genin however. She was trained inside of the Hospital most of the time, seeing as how her mother was a powerful doctor who was well-known for healing a lot of patients at once with some of her techniques. The thing that set Megumi apart from her mother though was her desire to become an Eiseijutsu master. Her mother refused to adopt techniques that shinobi learned since she refused to become a shinobi.
Megumi on the other hand, believed that in order to truly become a medical master, she needed to learn every technique ever presented in the shinobi world and quite possibly learn some of her own. After getting accepted into the Ninja Academy, Megumi’s mother Aeris shunned her, forcing Megumi to move out of her home and move into one of the homes in the residential area. She didn’t mind it though, if anything, she was happy to get out on her own and develop her own style of healing.
