Bathial had been grazing, something she was showing her children. With the teachings, the one that stood out the most. Was her lion baby. The runt. Following behind, trying to jump around like a normal lamb baby but her legs just didn't seem to work that way. Not like her mother's and brother's legs. There was a natural grace to them. Again Elemiah tried to jump around. Tripping over own feet til she jumped right in to her mother's side.

Her mother looked down at her with a smile. Picking her up by the scruff. Setting her down beside her. "Mum.. grass." Taking a bite and she looked at her mother with it in her mouth. It was terrible.

"It is a part of the world and it is necessary! It will help you grow up big and strong."

Plucking off more. Then spat it out. A sound caught her ears, and her mother lifted her head, looking about with eyes of judgement. The wind blew the tall grass around, but still she saw nothing. Then went back to grazing.

Elemiah. Did not.

Rolling off her rump. "Don't go out too far where mommy can't see you, okay?" Elemiah looked back. Her hair, a mess of curls bouncing about as she trotted along. Ungraceful and clumpsy as she was. The tall grass snapping and folding under her small body. "Allo-Allo-" Her voice development was less than favorable, an awkward voice that could be considered a sound. trying to look above the grass that towered over her.

Jumping and jumping along once more. Curious. Too curious.

The branch snapped between his teeth, the sound resonating through the forest. He had been gnawing on it for some time now, for he needed something to preoccupy his jaws. He was restless, agitated, and hungry. Always hungry. His eyes opened, vivid blue irises starkly contrasting against black sclera, shining with fury. A growl escaped him as he spat out the splinters. He was slowly coming to realize that no amount of wood, leaves, grass, or other substitutes for flesh and blood were going to sate his hunger. His head pounded, and his muscles ached from being still for so long. So finally, he permitted himself, and he prowled out from the shadows of the wood. His movement was that of a natural predator, his head low, eyes fixed ahead. His paws moved rather quietly along the ground, especially for one his age who should be inexperienced. The art of stalking was in his blood, a family inheritance of sorts, one that he did not fully understand. It was strange to him, that his immediate family members were all relatively calm, though not without their own oddities. Even so, he was very different from his siblings and father, even from his mother – a fact he might have noticed had he known his mother. He would have wondered what caused him to behave this way, but he could not bother with these extrapolations when these urges overwhelmed on a daily basis. They were powerful, too powerful.

He heard a voice then, a light, young voice from the sound of it. He froze in his tracks, turning his head in its direction. He remained in the darkness for now, black fur blending well with the shadows, concealing him. Every part of him wished to lower itself and stalk this new child, circle it from behind and strike. His father taught him to be better than, that he was in full control of his actions. Even though he sensed some amount of truth in his father's words, it did not feel true. Still, he needed to try. He closed his eyes, exhaling a deep sigh from his nostrils, attempting to drain the tension and thirst from his body. It did little to calm him. Frustrated, his eyes snapped open, a growl escaping him. The sound must have betrayed his presence, for this other kit was close enough to hear him. That fact only frustrated him further, which caused him to growl more. There was no point in hiding now, and he emerged from the dense undergrowth, quickly finding the kit before him. He held her gaze, lips twitching in attempt to cover his teeth and wrath. She was younger, even younger than he. "Where're your mom and dad?" he asked, his voice more of a growl than anything else. It was an odd way to start a conversation, no doubt, but it was better than nothing. He needed something, anything, to keep his mind off his natural proclivity to violence and his need for blood.

The shuffling of the grass lead her to an abrupt meeting with an unfamiliar face. Small- he was just a kit like her. But her soft eyes looked him up and down, in no particular way. Just to examine him, then a soft BAH came from her. Mimicing her mother's bah, even if she looked like a lion. "Who arrrre you?", she replied to his question with another un-relative question. Taking a step closer then a bounce forward, landing right nose to nose with him. The sound of her bell jingling as she jumped. Blinking at him with those huge red eyes.

"Down daaaaah meadow? Yours?" Wagging her tail some more, with a bright oblivious smile of the danger. She was curious, was a curious lamb should be.
