 Kaiden or Kai as his fathers called him, woke to find himself floating in a small tank that could be easily transferred from the back of the truck it was currently strapped into. He vaguely remembered going out to town to visit Arianna, a friend of the family when someone had come up behind him. While he was usually safe, it seemed that someone had been watching him for some time and soon they took action and attacked him. He could feel the truck coming to a stop and the voices of men speaking about delivering him to the right house. He had been warned by both of his parents that he was something different and there were those that would want him for collections, but he had never really believed them. Now it seemed that they had been right. As the door was opened he was blinded by a bright light and he tried to get away from it as he didn't have the complete immunity to it as his vampire father. He didn't get hurt by it of course, but it was still uncomfortable to be in the direct sunlight. This made it easier for the men to get him out of the truck though, and soon he was dumped into a large tank fit for a rather large shark. At least he was given the space to swim freely though he didn't like that he was trapped in the tank. He had heard and felt the vibrations of the top of the tank slamming shut. Kai sat at the bottom of his tank and looked at the man that was sitting just outside of the glass and watching him. It seemed that this was the man that wanted him in his collection and he instantly hated him. If he could he would have gone after him, but the best thing she could do was attempt to ignore the man and not do anything. He would grow bored so she hoped and he would end up leaving her alone. Eventually his captor has to leave when he was called away to work or something and he saw his chance of escape. He swam as quickly as he could to the top of the tank and rammed it popping the top of it off and allowing him to climb out of the tank. As he changed her form, he looked around thinking she was the only one in the house now and that he would be safe to leave without having to worry. He didn't know where he was exactly but he figured he could find out from someone in the town he was in. Unlike his 'mother' he didn't dress in Japanese style clothing but in something a bit more modern. He was in what most would consider punk attire that was similar to what his father wore. He was rather comfortable in his human form thanks to the fact that he was born from a vampire and a merman. As he got out of the house he didn't see anyone coming towards him on the sidewalk. ((im smirking as Kai is also the name of my pup))

 Alfred (Alvin) MathisAlvin walked down the street, his bag loose on his shoulder. He kept his gaze down and his earbuds in to ignore the fact no one was acknowledging him. No one greeted him or came within five feet of him. Alvin should be used to it by now, but he wasn't. He hated being a social plague because his father kept him isolated. It was like everyone was afraid to come near him. It hurt, to put it mildly. As he turned the corner of his street, he bumped into someone and stumbled back, holding his head. Ow....That hurt. Looking up, one eye closed, he blinked. Who was he? Alvin knew everyone in town, and this guy wasn't one of them. Was he new? Or, did someone just get an extreme makeover? Shaking his head, Alvin gave a nervous smile. "Ah....S-Sorry about that. I didn't....I wasn't looking. Are you alright?"

Kai hadn't expected to run into anyone and when he did he stepped back. "Im alright, sorry I ran into you..." He said looking at the guy a bit stunned. He had seen a lot of attractive guys, but no one like this. Was this how his father felt when he met Sal? He didn't know but right then as much as he wanted to speak with this male, his absence would be noticed by the man that he had just escaped from. "Im sorry I cant stay long, I do hope your alright. I have to get home." He said before he was hit by ray of sunlight and hissed slightly. After being in the house and tank it hurt to be in the sun and he didn't want to remain outside for so long. "Uh, just where am I exactly?"

Alfred (Alvin) MathisAlvin tilted his head a bit as the other stared at him. What was wrong? Did he have sauce on his face from lunch? Wiping his face out of paranoia, he looked back when the other went to leave. But, he stopped cause of the sun and asked where he was. Did he mean the street? Or, the town? "Arabor? You're standing on Mathis Street right now, though....Are you lost?" Then, he must be new to town, right? "If you need help finding the mall or your way back to your house, I'd be happy to help. Anything to delay going home for awhile."the gothic beauty 2 Also, I hate my imagination still. XD How are you and the puppy?

Arabor? He was that far from home? "I.... don't live around here... I was sort of brought here." He said after a moment before he looked away. "Do you have a phone or something I could use?" He asked after a moment. He had to call his parents, his telepathy didn't work this far from home and he was worried that his vampire father would be tearing the town apart looking for him. He had to get out of the road though. "Is there anywhere less open? I have a bit of a skin condition and cant be in the sunlight long."

Alfred (Alvin) MathisAlvin gave a small, sympathetic smile. "Did your ride ditch you or something? If you need a ride, I can have our driver get you home." Or, lend him the phone. That worked, too. Unfortunately, he couldn't use his cellphone. It was locked, and he could only answer it. Not that he wanted to often, since only his dad called. "Sure. You'll have to come inside, though. My, uh...house...is right here." Skin condition? That would explain why he had gotten hurt earlier. Alvin reached into his backpack and got out the umbrella he always carried in case of rain. "It's not much, but here. I hope this helps."

the gothic beauty 2 Kai looked at the male before him for a moment thinking. "Something like that." When he saw the house the other lived in he paled slightly. It appeared this man didn't know just what went on in the house. The umbrella actually helped a bit, but he would need to get inside rather quickly. Kai didn't know how he should deal with this new situation. He could go I to the house but risk being captured again, or he could try and find his own way home. Too bad there wasn't any water source so he could swim back. "Is there any other way to use a phone? I'm fine using yours it's just. Probably not a good idea to go into someone's home I don't actually know. Not to mention you don't really know me." He said trying to make it seem that was why he didn't want to go to Alvin's house.

Alfred (Alvin) MathisAlvin should have expected that reaction. But, he didn't, because the other male wasn't from Arabor. "The post office down the road has a phonebox." Taking out some change, he held it out. "This should be enough to make a call. Sure you just don't want a ride from my driver?"

It seemed that the guy was a bit saddened by the rejection. "I'm sure. I can't ask that of you..." He never actually got the others name. "Thank you though, I really do owe you for what you have done." Kai started off down the street after he said goodbye to Alvin. It didn't take him long to find the post office but he was never able to get into the building. He was once again out cold and back in the tank he had escaped from. Cursing he slammed his tail against the glass and tried to use the shrill scream to show is annoyance and displeasure. ---edit----- Kai saw the tank crack slightly and he slammed his tail into the glass but it seemed it wasn't going to break. He tried a few times to break the glass until the man that made the tank came in. "That glass won't break no matter how hard you hit it. Your only going to hurt yourself and that would be unfortunate. Why not just enjoy your new home, you won't be leaving anytime soon."

 Derrick MathisDerrick wasn't in the best mood. His vampire-merman treasure had nearly escaped while he was at work. It was a good thing he asked security to keep an eye out. But, that wasn't what had him worried. It was the fact that he'd spoken with Alfred. What was said between the two? Had the hybrid mentioned what happened? If Alfred found out, he'd leave. Or, try. Alfred was so much like his mother unfortunately. Derrick would rather destroy his treasures than watch them leave, though. But, he didn't want to destroy the greatest treasure in his collection. Walking into his office, Derrick watched as the merman tried to break his glass, but the aquarium maker warned him he wasn't going to get out. Derrick quickly gathered the man's payment. "Thank you for fixing the theater tank. You can leave now." After his guest was gone, Derrick looked at Kaiden. "You spoke to Alfred when you got out. What did you two discuss?"

 Kaiden looked at the male that spoke. Just who was he anyways? It didn't take long for the male to say who he was, or at least hint at what he was. "Alfred? Was that his name?" He asked after a moment. "I didn't say what was going on here, clearly he doesn't know." He said after a moment. "Im not going to tarnish the image someone has even if its not correct." Kai looked at his captor and could tell that he had to be Alvin's father, the two looked very much alike. Glaring at Derrick Kaiden spoke once more. "You know, you have condemned yourself and him to death when my father finds where I am. Its a shame someone innocent was brought into all of this thanks to his father."

Derrick MathisSo, Alfred was still clueless. Good. It'd be a shame to have to get rid of him. "Your mother is gentle. I doubt he'd let Vladimir kill us. As you said, Alfred is innocent, and killing him wouldn't be right by Saluote. As for me....Well, orphaning children isn't on his bucket list either. I did my research, Kaiden. As angry as he'll be, Vladimir wouldn't dare risk upsetting his beloved sea dweller. He's as enslaved by love as someone can be." Derrick turned when there was a knock on the door. "Hey, Dad? I, uh....Can I ask you something?" Derrick glared back at Kaiden. "And, you are not heartless enough to risk someone's life. Don't make a sound." Derrick left his office to talk to Alfred. He sounded nervous and unsure, so it wasn't about anything Derrick would like.

The vampire merman hybrid looked towards the door wanting to say something, but he knew that he wasn't able to do so if he wanted to keep Alvin safe he couldn't make a sound. Glaring at Derrick's back as the man left Kai remained silent. As the human left he sank to the bottom of his tank and let out a sigh. What could he do at that moment but obey the other? It seemed that Derrick had done his research and he disliked that he had no advantages here. That had to mean he was aware of the weaknesses of his parents. There was no way that his father was enslaved by love. Just because someone did something out of love, didn't mean they were enslaved by it.

Alfred (Alvin) MathisAlvin stepped back as his father came out of his office. He caught sight of a tail before the door closed. Did he get another exotic fish? What was it this time? A dolphin? At least that wasn't as scary as the shark in the theater. "Alright. What's this question you have for me, Alfred?" "Alvin....Why don't you ever call me Alvin? A-Anyway, I....My class is taking a trip to Erendale. I was....Can I go?" Derrick blinked before growling, running his hand through his hair. "Alfred...." "Oh, come on. Erendale's like history central. There's so much to learn there, and the city library has so many rare books to read. It's only for three days. Please?" Derrick sighed. Damn it. This wasn't what he wanted. "...Alright. You can go. If you take Warren, and he goes wherever you go. Got it? When do you leave?" "In a few days. Thank you, Dad! You're the best!" Finally! A trip to Erendale! Alvin was going to absorb all the history he could while he was there. Derrick signed the permission slip and Alvin bounced back to his room. He needed to pack! Hopefully nothing happened to cancel the trip or make his father change his mind. the gothic beauty 2 Yep. Still a history nut. XD
