Big cities were always in development. Places were built and with limited room, other buildings had to come down. Abandoned buildings brought on by foreclosures or buyouts were littered about the metropolis and provide a home to many creatures - namely rats, mice, stray dogs, the homeless, and the occasional stray.
Arthur was on the hunt, crouched on a bottom step and looking up at a mouse a few steps above that was sniffing around for anything useful. Wiggling his bottom, the white stray was above to attempt the tricky manuver of a surprise attack UP steps (which put him at the disadvantage) when he heard some floorboards creek. The mouse, alerted to something new, raced up the molding of the stairs and to the second floor.
Frowning, Arthur was about to make his own escape when he sensed something not at all threatening. "Oh?" He said, and moved to the step to poke his head through the broken railing to look down. What he saw was a lot younger than he expected.
"Hello there." He half meowed out to the senshi.

Goretti knew he probably shouldn’t have been out so late, much less in a place like this, but he shltered, overprotective lifestyle he'd lived so far had given him a strange fascination with places like these. His father had worked so hard to keep him away from these creepy parts of town, so now that he was powered, it sort of felt like…
Well, it felt like they were just asking to be explored.
And who was he to deny such a request?
He hadn't been paying attention to where he was wandering—a dangerous thing, given that he was unfamiliar with the territory and could have easily gotten lost. Especially when his mind started to wander.
He hadn't even felt the cat's aura, so when he heard a voice, Goretti was immediately startled. "Jeez!" he blurted, face flushing with embarrassment. "You are a sneaky cat! What are you doing out here so late, are you getting in to trouble?"
A rapid assessment told him that, thankfully, this was a good cat, and not at all a Negaverse agent or something evil that he should have been watching out for.
Julienne's scolding voice rang in the back of his head; whenever he did something foolish he always imagined her nagging at him.
Not paying attention could be the death of him.
…But, on the plus side, there was a very handsome looking cat in front of him, and it took all of Goretti's concentration not to waltz right over and pick him up.

"Of course not. I'm here for dinner." He wiggled his body through the stair railing and jumped down to land on the ground, walking over towards the boy and walking around him, making a show to rub his body against his leg.
"There are plenty of lively things to eat and the rats don't get as big as the ones on the street. Well, not the ones that rush about." They were young ones that rushed about in the corners. The parents were somewhere crawling in the attic and walls. One that could attack and eat him if he made a wrong move.
Stopping in front of the senshi, he paws up at his legs to be picked up.
"Isn't it late for you? Why are you here?"

"Well—I'm not here for rats, so there's no competition from me. I was just out, you know—doing the senshi thing." He brushed off his sleeve and shrugged, trying to seem nonchalant. It didn't last for long; his lips pursed into a pout and he sighed, exasperated. "It's not as easy as I wanted it to be. I don't know how everyone else makes doing it look so easy—they're all so strong, and have everything planned out, and I'm just, you know, following in their footsteps. I've got things I want to fight for, you know? But I just don't…get it. You know? …Or maybe not, I don't know. I probably chased away all the lively things for you to eat around here, I was kinda stomping around. I'm sorry."MoonKitsune I'm sorry this took so long! ;;

"That's fine. I didn't expect to get much anyways. I'll just go looking somewhere else. I know a few restaurants that will be closing soon. Usually the food is still hot."
He started to clean the dust off his paws before looking up. "I understand. I'm new to being a guardian. I really only did it once in a while, but now I'm noticing how different it is. I'm not very good at it at all to be very honest and not sure what exactly I am doing. I'm far less prepared and not at all confident. They are too lively for me."
Moving over again, he pawed at the senshi to be picked up. "Care to go for a walk?" He wanted a free ride and a warm body to sleep on their shoulders.

"New?" Goretti asked, blinking. The cat looked adult—at least, insofar as he knew a cat could look like an adult. He nodded at the prospect of a walk and stretched, rocking on his heels before he readily scooped the cat up. He held him in his arms, giving him a few good pets (how could he resist, really?) before he tried to make himself as comfortable as possible. He stood still to give him all the time he needed to adjust or get wherever he wanted to be.
"I thought all Guardian Cats were like, ancient. Every one I speak to seems to know everything. But then again…maybe that's just a cat thing? My father always says cats think they're better than humans. Oh, but Mauvians aren't really cats then, right?" He was quiet for a minute, skeptically going over the situation in his head, and then he just shrugged it off. "Do cats have a place to go to learn everything? It's really not fair if they expect you to know everything but don't teach you. —Where did you want to go again? I'll head towards any of those restaurants if that's where you wanna be." MoonKitsune I AM SORRY, I NEVER GOT A NOTIFICATION AND ONLY FOUND THIS WHILE SNOOPING THROUGH MY JOURNAL ;;

"I'm old, but I'm not ancient." He grumbled. "And I don't profess to know everything. I only learn through what I do, and the news. I prefer print, and library books are good. OH, and TV guide!" He said with a happy swish of his tail.
"The other cats seem to gather around and I've been learning some things from them. It seems like they deal a lot with phones." Yes, phones.
"OH, how about you go down Euclid Avenue and then go down or 3 blocks and turn a left into the alleyway. There is a good place to eat there." He said as he made himself a soft, ca scarf around him shoulders.

"Oh yeah," Goretti said as he walked; he was repeating the directions in his head, intent not to screw up, but he couldn't help but be more focused on getting to know the cat. Briefly he considered getting lost just so he could keep the cat around his shoulders for a little longer, but he figured making a good first impression was probably more important.
"I've got a phone but I'm not totally sure how to use it. I think someone tried to explain it to me once, but I don't have a smart phone at home or anything, so it's kind of my first time playing with something so fancy. I usually don't pull it out because I'm afraid I'll break it. But I've heard it can do neat things. Like go into space? I saw someone do it once, but I don't know how. And I really like her, so I didn't want her to think I was dumb and didn't know how to do it, so I didn't ask. But I still don't know."

" I don't know much about the phones either. I have one and I'm still wondering how it all works. If I learn how, I'll tell you. OH! Or we sit, eat, and we play with it. Though I do not want to go to space just yet. I'd rather have something to eat first." He decided, thinking being lost in space would be bad on an empty stomach.
"Phact told me about the moon. She said she would take me. I would like to go to space just to see what it has. I never traveled before." Not outside of Destiny City.
Curling about his paws, he smiled up at the boy. "Soooo......who do you like?"

Goretti's face immediately started to burn. If he had other questions he'd wanted to ask, the topic of his love life immediately dismissed them from his mind.
"No one!" he blurted quickly—too quickly—and his face was already burning with embarrassment. "Well, I mean, she's not no one, but…"
The chibi let out a huff and pursed his lips before falling into silence. It was short lived and he finally, reluctantly, mumbled, "Lenka. She's a chibi—no, was—a chibi senshi. But now she's gone and done something and I'm still a chibi but she's not. Which I want to change, but I don't know what to do. I keep thinking going and visiting my homeworld might have something to do it, but…I'm so afraid of getting stuck up there. What if my phone breaks! You know? And then I'd have no idea of what to do or how to get back."
He sighed and rested his head against the cat on his shoulders. "I wanna go to the moon, too. Do you think Phact would take me? I've never met her, but the Moon seems like a much safer place to go. I mean, at least I can see it!" he laughed, casting a quick look up to the sky. When he almost tripped on something while he was walking he laughed again and quickly looked down, intent on not tripping and face diving himself and Arthur into the ground.
