She was starting to get a feel for the nearby areas. She had recently discovered a nearby herd she was curious to join and was really leaning towards a yes. She had to think about it. She wasn't entirely sure how she felt about the whole idea just yet, but she figured it would be a good thing to do in the end. She tossed her head slightly as she looked around the area she had wandered into. There were a lot of rocky areas that she noticed as she grew closer to the base of the mountains and flicked her long tail as she walked forward, scouting the area around her for anything that might cause her to leave. The air smelled clear of any dangerous scents and nothing really screamed ‘run away’. She didn't see anything to cause her concern so she figured she might as well see if there was anyone around. She figured there had to be someone nearby. There were a number of herds that she had heard about anyway. Though, movement was always a possibility. Depending on where summer or winter grazing grounds were. She understood there were a few herds in close distance, though not all of them friendly, but she didn't think that this area was one of those ones she should be wary of. She figured she'd find out soon enough though. She stayed in the open trying to find signs of anyone that she might be able to talk to. She was curious about the other herds and was really wanting to get to know a bit more about some of them. [WC: 272Mistalina13 Is she part of the Imlardris still? I'm going to have the setting be there

Valeria wasn't yet fully grown but she was old enough to be trusted to go out on her own. Astraea would find her in plain sight, nibbling on the local grass. From a distance it would be difficult, if not impossible, to see her oddities. She just looked like an angeni mare with a rusty chestnut coat and what seemed like an impossibly long, for her age, red-orange mane and curling tail. At the sound of hoofsteps nearby her ears perked up and she lifted her head away from the grass. "Who is there? Show yourself." Was it one of the guards perhaps? Not many came out this way except for them since it was near the edge of the herdlands. She had only come because it was pretty what with all the flowers about.
If it was something or someone unfriendly she would have to improvise. Hopefully she could run or fly away fast enough.AstoriaFallen I hadn't forgotten about this, I've just been occupied the last few days.

[ooc: I need to wait until I know it's good to quote you so I don't double tag you all the time. >.<] As she walked she soaked in the scenery and admired the flowers that dotted the ground. She came to a stop and her head spun to look in the direction of what sounded like a nervous female. She was out of eye sight and figured after she walked a little more shed probably see her. She was going to remind where she was for the moment though. She didn't want to cause any problems so she figured she'd announced herself first. "I am Astraea."She kept her tone soft and she walked forward and finally came into view of the brown and orange female with wings that resembled much of her own. "I don't mean to impose. I was just walking around trying to get to know these lands better." It was true; if she was going to be joining the herd nearby she wanted to get to know the one she was almost certain she was close to, if not on already. She stayed where she was from the mare, she didn't want to crowd her or anything of the sort. She cocked her head slight as she looked at the mare’s wings. They were much like her own and this made her curious. "Are you from around here?"She asked as she looked around for a moment to make sure the area was still only occupied by the two of them. Satisfied it was still just them she returned her gaze to the female and noticed the particular oddness about her. It wasn't so much the mare herself was odd, it was how... Well. Were parts of her missing? This was curious to her, but she didn't want to stare and cause a scene. She wasn't disgusted or put off by the females looks, if anything she wanted to know more about how she was the way she was. "May I ask your name?"[WC:314]

"My name is Valeria." It was...another angeni, just not one she had ever seen before. The realization was enough to make her visibly relax somewhat, her expression shifting toward curiousity rather than anxiety. "I was born not far from here." in the heart of Imladris lands. Valeria noted she was being studied and mirrored Astraea, cocking her head to the side and looking her over. She had small antlers and were those cloven hooves? "Were you looking for something, or someone, in particular?"
Yes, she was a little strange compared to some. Her mother called it 'spirit touched' - spirits making mischief that tinkers with the appearance of unborn foals. She had the cracks and ghosts, her sister had spikes and demon-esque wings and her brother had extra eyes. None of them were impaired by the oddities, so after the initial shock had passed there was nothing to worry about.AstoriaFallen S'okay! Just lemme know when its good to reply! :3

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Valeria." She said as she looked around. So she was close to the herd she had been told about, at least she could count on her sense of direction to get her places now. She noticed how the female was checking her out in return, it seemed to be they both had differences neither of them were used to seeing before. "I was just trying to get a feel for the lands a little. I came from the Vanaras just recently." She said, not wanting to tell too much information right off the bat. She found the females differences quite fascinating. She found her to be quite beautiful, cracks and all. The mare was lovely. "It's a beautiful day, is it not?" She figured a little small talk wouldn't be hurtful. Plus it helped to talk about things, it allowed her to get a better feel for others when she had a conversation with them about something. She honestly wasn't picking up anything to be worried about from the mare, but you never could tell these days. [WC: 184]mistalina13 Once I quote it normally means I'm good to go. smile

"Yours as well." She nodded and smiled.
Coming from Vanaras? Was Astraea part of the Vanaras herd then? It was the mention of the cereyeni herd that made her relax. She did not know any of the herd members personally but the other mare seemed to fit the bill perfectly from what she understood about them. They were the closest neighbors to Imladris and rather friendly from what she was told. Valeria and her mother passed through the edge of their territory sometimes on their outings, but they had never come close enough to meet any of them.
"It is a beautiful day, yes." Her encounters with strangers had been few and far between and she had never met someone alone before. So there had not been many opportunities for practicing the social niceties.AstoriaFallen Her speech color is pretty light to try and read. Not sure if its just my screen though. (Not a huge deal since I can highlight everything and read it though.)

mistalina13 I had started a post the other day and my internet froze out and deleted it or this would have been up sooner. Also, is this font easier to read? The lack of conversation made her realize a couple of things. The main one being that she could very much relate to the female that stood before her. She remembered a time in which she was just like her, uncertain of things and who to talk to, or what about. She had come far since then and was more willing and open when it came to conversing with others. She very much enjoyed what she learned, be it good or bad. Everything had a cost and knowledge was always one of those one's that could be good or bad. "Are you from a herd around here?" She thought she'd ask something simple. At least it wasn't one in which it shouldn't make her feel uncomfortable, at least she hoped. She was just curious and liked to be aware of her surroundings. Plus it would give her an opportunity to get to know the female more. She was curious about her. She hadn't really met anyone like her before. The way her limbs seemed to vanish at certain points, it was astounding and she actually found the mare quite lovely. It didn't seem to hinder her in anyway either which was remarkable. She was still getting used to the way Soquili can develop in their baskets and come out with strange oddities such as the mare before her.

"I am part of Imladris, yes." Only some of the time, but this stranger didn't need to know that. It was because her family dynamic wasn't exactly typical of the herd either. Non lifemated parents were relatively rare here, as she had come to understand.
"If that is where you are looking to go, we can start heading back and one of the guards should find us." Though Astraea seemed harmless it would probably be best if a guard escorted her into the herd territory proper. That way there would be no risk of anyone getting into trouble over her being here. If she was looking for information it was best she spoke to someone older anyway as she had only just begun to really learn about herd customs and such.AstoriaFallen No problem! (And much, yes! The other font was basically white on my screen.) We might be getting close to a wrap on this?

mistalina13 I believe we can close her up then after your next post smile "I'm pleased to know that I've found the area I was searching for. I would believe we are closeby if you are part of them." She said with a smile. It was good to know that her sense of direction wasn't god awful. At least she had ended up in the right place. She listened as the mare offered to take her to one of the guards and she thought about it for a moment. She didn't see what the harm could be in doing that. She was trying to feel out her options before fully committing to somewhere. She wanted to know that she'd be doing the best she could be doing, no matter where she ended up. "I would like that very much. If you'd be so kind to lead the way and I'll be right behind you." She said as she waited for her to lead the way.

"The easiest path is back this way." Easiest perhaps because it was the most well traveled. Valeria turned and headed back the way she had originally come. The guards passed this way fairly often so one should find them before long.AstoriaFallen Apologies for taking so long to wrap this. Been busy and slightly distracted.

mistalina13 No worries deary! I think thats a wrap then. smile She gave a warm smile towards the other Equine and followed in step behind the mare so that they might pass along one of the guards she had mentioned earlier. She was very eager to learn more about the herds around here so that she might be able to one day call one of them home.
