Little paws moved across the pavement in a hurried manner. Their owner was near frantic as her owner was missing! It wasn’t like him, she was sure of this, and no one seemed to know just where the General had gone to, in fact he wasn’t the only one missing. The corrupted senshi who Benitoite had given her was also missing, they’d been supposed to meet the other night and both had vanished. Whether they had met up or not she didn’t know and it was almost irrelevant as it didn’t change the fact that they were missing, along with others in the Negaverse.
Jumping over a puddle the russian blue turned a corner and continued on her way. She had been hunting and searching for Benitoite, and Hatsya, each night since they’d vanished and couldn’t find or sense either of them. She had heard of people in the city going missing and feared that both of them were victims of this - whatever it was. No one she spoke to seemed to have a clue where or what was going on and she was left worried for the two and wanting to find them - she needed them!
Stopping in her tracks the cat stood there for a moment, tail swaying frantically behind her with nervous energy, as she wondered if she should venture over the line in the sand and seek out senshi and knights and see if they knew anything, where they missing people? It could provide some information which could be helpful, even if it was nothing more than her finding out that they were clueless but members on their side were also missing. It was still information and all information was valuable.
Yes, that was something she needed to do, she was doing it for those who belonged to her. That set in her mind she took off again this time seeking out any order signatures she could pick up on.
Urda was quietly minding his business along a familiar path in his favorite park that evening, which was rather rare for the usually overly adventurous youngster. On most night he would be wreaking havoc in local parks, making obstacle courses for himself and trying to get through them as fast as his senshi-powered legs could take him. Either that or he'd would practice summoning a shrub under duress, which still felt (and sounded) silly but he was getting a little faster each time.
But not tonight. Tonight was the eve of a very painful memory for Urda, and while he convinced himself that it wouldn't be as bad as the previous year, nothing about his day seemed to back up his claim.
A heavy sigh escaped him as he felt a small tug of chaos toward his left, but he wasn't much in the mood for socializing. A part of him actually wanted whoever it was to be looking for trouble, just to give him an excuse not to stop and say hello, as he did in most instances. Nothing serious had happened yet, so he still tried to be friendly with every powered individual he met.
Urda picked up his feet and started toward the signature at a light jog, and when it felt much closer he looked around, expecting a lieutenant or one of those...other senshi. No one, though, so he looked about as he came to a stop and called out, "Hello? Anyone there?"
Katya had felt it, a senshi! Headed in that direction the cat picked up her pace, moving as fast as her four little legs could take her. It was as she left a gathering of trees, hearing a voice calling out into the darkness, that she found who she was looking for only it wasn’t what she was expecting.
“A chibi…” She’d heard of them and met a young senshi before - Hugbell. But this one was male and didn’t wear colors even remotely similar to the girl she’d met. After a moment of looking the figure over she spoke up for them to hear.
“Here little senshi, I’m here.” Tail moving behind her she made her way toward him, slow and graceful as she approached the chibi senshi. “Tell me, what is a little senshi doing out all alone?” She questioned him, staring up at him. Her General never would allow such a thing if the Negaverse took in such little children, it was something he’d find abhorrent, and she did agree with his opinion on little children sent out, on their own, to fight in a war.
Somehow he thought that meeting talking cats shouldn't have been a surprise to him by now, but as soon as he looked down and the cat approached him he felt his lips tug up in a small smile. He wasn't jumping up and down, but on a day like today his smile was as rare as...well, a talking cat by normal people's standards.
"I feel like a talking-cat magnet," he said with that smile as he took a seat to converse with her -- he could tell by her voice. How many had he met with since his awakening anyway? "I'm kind of just hanging around tonight, actually. You were moving pretty fast," he said, reaching out a hand to greet her. "Are you looking for something? Or late for something?"
While he took a seat she did the same, sitting in front of him, and stared up at him with large green eyes. He certainly was interesting and didn’t seem as bright and cheerful as she’d expect of a little child senshi. “A guardian cat magnet, how interesting.” She purred out while her tail curled about her legs as she sat comfortably in front of the child and listened to him.
“I see, and no one to watch you and keep you safe.” What would he do if someone unkind, who would hurt a little baby senshi, were to come upon him. She was sure he couldn’t handle himself - keep himself safe. “Ah, yes! Yes I am. Tell me, have any senshi or knights gone missing? Vanished and not been seen or heard of?” She questioned as he brought her back to the reason for her being out tonight and running around the city.
Her large green eyes felt as though she was scrutinizing him, but he shifted mainly just to get more comfortable. He preferred it when he was at eye-level with people when he spoke with them, which was why he didn't much like adults when they stood right in front of him. Made him feel so...small, which wasn't a good feeling. So he leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees, and his face in his hands as he watched her.
"Nope. I guess I might not need someone like that right now?" In all honesty he hadn't really thought about it that much. One other chibi senshi had said something about dangerous people lurking about at night way back when, but he didn't pay it too much attention and he was doing okay still. So he instead focused on the answer she gave him, and again shook his head.
"Not really," he answered, his smile only then going lopsided. "At least not personally, I don't think anyone I know has been 'missing' or anything like that."
But Urda paused and gave it a bit more thought, just so maybe he could be a little more of help to this guardian cat. "Um...I guess I can say that there doesn't seem to be as many Order signatures lately? Usually I can feel a small handful of them whenever I come out, but now it's less than that."
Watching the little senshi get down closer to her level she smiled - how nice of him. Nodding her head once in approval she held up, offered, a single front paw of hers to him. “I am Katya, who are you little one?” She questioned finally, wishing to be polite. This little one was being helpful, in some small way, so she would be polite and introduce herself properly.
“You should always have someone with you...wouldn’t want to get hurt now would you?” She questioned the little male senshi. He could easily get hurt, or killed, if it was a more aggressive officer who found him all on his own.
“I see…” She spoke thoughtfully. “That means either your side has had none vanish...or none that you know of. You should be careful little one. My General has gone missing as has my corrupted senshi.” IF something could take them it could certainly take this little one, he would be unable to protect himself. “I will keep that in mind. Perhaps what has happened to my General and senshi is why you sense fewer signatures.” Fewer senshi was good but not fewer Negaverse officers, according to her General they already lacked in numbers.
He took her proffered paw and gave it a light shake before letting go, his smile returning somewhat. "Urda," he said simply, and certainly in a much more subdued manner than usual. She didn't seem to mind, though, and maybe she might have even preferred this calmer side of him. He'd also been told that his in-your-face approach was...not always as fun for whoever he was with. "It's nice to meet you, Katya, and thank you for worrying about me. I'll try and be careful."
A part of him thought he ought to be a little more worried, but so far it's been alright. The idea of vanishing people, though, seemed a pretty good motivator. "I don't really know, but maybe? If you want I could help you look for a little longer tonight? And maybe tomorrow night, too, if you want. Until we find them." Technically, if they were together then that meant he, at least, wasn't alone, right? Then they were helping each other out!
And hey, he liked cats. They reminded him of his sister, the brighter memories at least, which was nice.
Oh, she was trying to make friends in the hopes of one day gaining him as a corrupted senshi, she could hope couldn’t she? She wanted more senshi to claim as her’s, more officers as well, and this one might take time but perhaps one day he would be one of her senshi. Yes, there was a reason for her being so nice. He needn’t know that of course, it wouldn’t do for him to know now would it?
“Yes, you can follow me and perhaps see if any other senshi or knights know anything.” If she could find out anything more from this little one, and whoever they might encounter, she would be a very pleased kitty. She needed information and she needed it as soon as she could lay paws on it. Her General and one of her corrupted senshi where out there somewhere!
“Come little one, let us be off.” And hopefully she would get some information.
It was a relief when she agreed; somehow a part of him thought she might have rather gone on her own. Maybe it was because he was still so young? It was a passing thought at best, though, and one he quickly dismissed with a nod.
"Awesome! Where to first?" he asked, finally moving to get up. "There's more to this park, but also a little over that way..." and he spouted off about the area, what with being a local and all. He'd snuck out enough nights to know the layout of the place, and considering they were only at the park it seemed it'd be a pretty long night.
